hint:
not all pluggers are the same, e.g. the Atlas Jackhammer is very heavy and it's hard to speed up that damn thing ... for coyote rage I'd pick something that seems to be somewhat light and nimble, stay in the race at pos 1-6, on the last lap have full boost ready, take the first ramp on the right, burn all the boost and drop in to the mud before the bridge, this will put you well beyond the pack and when they catched up then your boost will be recharged for the final spurt
 
I'm getting on now and ready to get schooled by bookey. No garauntees no mic will work. So, if you don't hear me saying anything.... keep up the chatter, I'll still be able to hear your mocking.

I'm gonna start a GAF server in US Central 1.

edit: I'll leave it public, in case I didn't get added to anyone's friend's list. So we'll likely have to start a second server for when this one gets full, of course.

MOTORSTORM NIGHT 2: MOTORSTORM HARDER

Race creation guidelines:
Either all vehicles or one, no cherry picking favorites
US server 3 - named "GAF" or if 1 is full "NGAF" or something with GAF
Buddies only
Race the same track twice in a row - until we get used to them and proper vehicle selection
2 Laps
Catchup: ON

Mudpool: 2
Dust Devil: 2
Sidewinder: 2
Grizzly: 1

I'll add to this as we play.

I seem to have the problem that you can't see your buddy list in Motor Storm.
Deleting my Motorstorm data and redownloading the patch does not work.
It could be because of the amount of friends on my friends list.

BOBTHEFORK cannot connect to MotorStorm online. He has no other problems connecting to anything else with his PS3. If you are experiencing the same problem or know a potential fix, please PM him.

i've picked this up again after finishing some other games -- going through the level 4 races now. might hop online as well. god i love this game's track design -- sidewinder gulch is a classic.

Try leaving the game and coming back in. It worked for me.

Does anybody who has voice chat problems use a Bluetooth headset?

When AgentX was the host my mic worked perfectly. But when we reformed it all went to shit.
I repaired my headset with the PS3, restarted the game, restarted the system, none of those worked.
Oh well, it was sorta fun :-\
 
had to leave early because of some work to do...

Not sure if Shifter and Tommy_Bee were from GAF, but they kicked my ass most of the time. PlayerBeyond will get revenge some other time
 
Yikes. The online bits sound like a torture test. I've only played online about five times; once with GAFers. It was a smashing good time.

I also haven't played Motorstorm at all after the first week of owning it. I keep forgetting I have it because of Resistance and my PS2 games!

if there's like 4 or more people in a room, the mics just stop working. it's horrible and needs to be fixed. the game is basically a big chatroom while you're racing, and without that it's pretty useless online. might as well race against the computer if you can't communicate with anyone.

I haven't even played all the level 3 races yet.
I really need to play this game more often, though. Paid for it. And it is a great game.

I actually had this thought tonight. I was like... i could do this in single player and actually make progress in the game. It was fun talking with AgentX even when it was just us with mics. But seriously getting severe beatdowns by other people and pretty much spending the entirity of races by myself in the back of the pack and no voice was not fun at all.

I hate some of the level designs though, its like they said: "yea this doesnt seem to be hard enough, lets see how many randon little ass rocks and trees we can throw in the courses to see how many fools we can get to blow up on them."

Yeah, they definitely REALLY need to work some bugs out still. That's why I think once a week for about an hour is enough for me right now. Game needs a big open circle with infinite boost and ramps, like an arena battle. Just something to hang out and **** around in.

Maybe Calling All Cars will give me that fix.

Edit: Speaking of mics, my bluetooth one shows up just fine in the xmb (pairs fine, shows that it's picking up speech, ect), but it doesn't work in MotorStorm :( Any ideas, or is MotorStorm just f'd?

The headset should be recognized automatically if it's working. There's no special setup needed.
 
God, I'm starting to HATE the loading of the vehicles. It takes forever to load one.
Evolution Studios, update the game and make it show pictures, instead of the real-time 3D environments and fully detailed vehicles.

Also, unlock all servers for everyone. Right now, I'm in Europe and playing on American or Australian servers. Fix that.

And finally, to the next GAF race post, change my PSN to Goldrusher. No US suffix anymore.

Okay guys, quick question, how do you access two player mode online? when we create matches, how do you add the second player? we've looked at all the options and pressed all of the buttons yet nothing has even happened to signal how or when the second player may join.

anyone know what to do?

This game is only one person per console.

In the newest EGM the developers said they may add a split screen mode if there is enough demand.

darn it... it seems like the generation that is upon us is the anti-social generation (minus the wii, which has the reverse issues - games on the 360 like Prey and Quake 4 are online only, much like Resistance on the PS3. I was originally hopeful because PDZ launched this gen with split screen online play...). oh split screen how I miss thou.

erm....... Resistance has a split-screen co-op campaign, and a couple vehicle sections that seem to have split-screen in mind. It also has up to 4-player split-screen offline multi-player.
 
Rumor: Sony to Address Motorstorm Issues via Update

Not sure on the credibility on this one, but it's worth making mention of just to have that "we told you so!" right if it turns out to be spot-on true. So, we got an e-mail from someone who's been on the up-and-up with somebody inside Sony... yeah, we know, it's easy to say that, but the claim the guy made isn't exactly off-the-wall or outrageously unbelievable. What'd he say?

It regards MotorStorm. Sony may come out in a week or two and address a lot of the issues people have been experiencing/taking advantage of -- ultra boost, spawn glitches, quick joining an idle game, as well as additional downloads (free or otherwise). Most of the game's online play will get tweaked and repaired, as well as the possibility of additional maps! Sounds like good news. We'll see how this holds up, but we're giving it the seal of "most probably true".
