Yes, and you should buy a temporary DS, then return it once you get your hands on a Lite.

Don't bother. Remember that most places will price check. That's how I got it for $27.99 at Best Buy. I literally drove to Circuit City, picked up the ad, drove to Best Buy, got the $8 off just by showing it.

I'd say yes, no one's going to drop its price lower in the meantime, and the chances of it selling out are pretty high.

I know SMW was codenamed SMB4 and even announced as such, but I like to be dramatic, and this really is an advancement on SMB3 without the dinosaurs, so I don't feel like it's that ridiculous to shoehorn it in there.

SMW is TITLED SMB4. At most, this is SMB5.

PS - Game fucking rocks. Pretty much SMB1 + SMB3 combined. Just a hint of SMW too, for good measure.
 
The new site worked for me! You can get a "secret" background in the download section by clicking on all the coins and breaking the blocks! Kind of neat. Cool website.

Hey, anyone know where the third giant coin is in the World 1 final castle? The two visible ones were easy enough to get. Figured the boss would be holding the third, but I defeated him using both methods, and no dice! :(

And a bit of Mario 64 (all the moves- double jump, wall jump and butt stomp)
 
Buy this game. I dont care if you are a Sony or Microsoft fanboy, if you like video games do yourself a favor and buy this game right now! Like others have said, a mix of Mario 1 and 3. So far I am having an incredible time with it. The multiplayer mini games are also quite fun. Just buy this game. That is all I can say about it.

Oh, not all the N64 moves at all. No punches, kicks, jump kicks, back-flip, running leap, or dive!
 
New website seems nice, but I don't wanna spoil the game for myself so I didn't click around all that much.

My copy of New Super Mario Bros got shipped today btw. I hope I get it soon, like.. yesterday.
 
Okay, halfway into world 2 (on that goddamn jumping block level.)

The game is awesome, I think IGN was right on the mark with their review. I don't think it's too easy though. I did get a bunch of 1ups, but I also died quite a bit.

How can it be that my local GS (where I pre-ordered) won't get the game until tomorrow afternoon, but Best Buys have had it since Sunday? No justice.
 
Does anyone know if Walmart will price match CC on games? Really want to get the game now WITH the CC deal, but they don't have it in.

It's a must-buy, folks. Whether you pay $27.99 or full price, it's definitely worth buying.
 
anyone else find it semi annoying that when trying to jump between a hole in 2 walls, if you are slightly off, you end up doing a wall kick?

What a nutty game. They definitely came up with some new twists on old tricks. :D

Oh my, but Castle 2-8 is fun as hell. Get Indy Jones vibes here.

(Anyone figure out where Star Coin 3 is on Castle 1-8? It's the ONLY Star Coin yet, in about 18 levels, that eludes me.)

The game? I like it so far. It won't be replacing SWM or YI as my favorite 2D Mario platformers. I think the controls are a bit stiffer, less responsive than they should be. But so far, it's a fantastic spin on some classic mechanics.

Actually, I'm really liking the music in the game, plus it helps that the graphics are purty.
 
Just now I heard the oldschool SMB song playing in my livingroom and when I ran out of my room, I saw NSMB being played and then it zoomed out to show the DS.

Good advertising Nintendo. That song definitely caught my attention. :)
 
Damn. These cats aren't lying. World 2 gets pretty tough. I died a couple times, but it definitely makes me afraid of what lies over the next 6 worlds.

Hmmm, I think I figured out how to branch off from the main path (Castle 2-8), but if I'm right, beating the boss as ITTY BITTY Mario might be tough. :/

Edit - Yeah, I'm dying quite a bit. But I had 40 lives at the end of World 1 (without any 1-up farming, even).

I saw it too. Pistons:lol

Very old school feel to the commercial. They played the music while showing a bunch of gameplay, then gave the DSL moneyshot. No acting, no funny stuff, just MARIO!

Beat the Castle 2-8 boss as small, regular, fire, blue shell, or mega Mario, and you attain World 3. However, beat it as micro Mario, and bam, World 4. Now I've got both open, and can play the stages back and forth!

And, the 3 Star Coins in Castle 2-8 were simple enough to get. I can't believe I still can't find the third Castle 1-8 Star Coin!

Help? Please? I can't even FIND Star Coin 3. It's not a matter of not being able to reach it or anything. I have no idea where it is. Unless I'm missing a room or something, there doesn't even seem to be any ROOM for a third Star Coin!

Yeah, me too. I was at my computer and had the game on in the background, and then all of sudden I heard the original SMB music. That got my attention pretty quick. :D
