Story

Ryu ga Gotoku 3 begins right where Ryu ga Gotoku 2 left off and takes place two years later. Kiryuu Kazuma and Haruka have moved to Okinawa, wanting to live a more peaceful life and leave the chaos of the city behind. There, they opened an orphanage known as Asagao.

The peace doesn't last forever, however, when a buyout of the surrounding land threatens to shut down the orphanage.... perhaps fueled by some political motive. These events, in addition to shootings in both Okinawa and Kamiyacho once again force Kiryuu into a series of dangerous situations. As he sets out to find out why this is happening, he discovers a man who witnessed both murders...

So did the guy translate like all the dialogue in Kenzan? Or just the main stuff?

I never played the previous versions but I really want to try this game out. Any chances of it coming to NA?

I take it by the previous comments it would be difficult to play an import version without a guide.

Hope it's good and feels fresh. The first is one of my favorite game experiences, but after Kenzan it's getting kind of old.

I'm hoping the real-time battle transitions make the gameplay more interesting and of course that the story is good.

no, but he basically gives you the gist of each conversation (& explains all the missions, including the best answers to give the hostesses :) ) - it's a huge, & amazingly well-done faq, that makes playing the game easy & enjoyable...

Sega, seriously. I bought Orta, Shenmue 2, and JSRF on Xbox.

Please show my constitutes love with this series.

I don't get it.

Aside from that buying Yakuza 2 next month, its in my budget.

If Sega announces this coming over here I'll get right back to 1 to finish it, buy 2 and be ready for when this hits. This just looks too good to be left to the east, c'mon Sega!

Dear Sony,

Please purchase the North American distribution rights Yakuza 3 from Sega and release it during the summer. There's no need to add voice acting, just add English subtitles. You will make a profit.

Thanks!

They better release this in the US/EU! I NEED this game. I'd prefer this over some of the other big PS3 exclusives for 09 including InFAMOUS, White Knight Chronicles, MAG and Heavy Rain.

At close to 8,000yen I don't think I am going to import, even if I did for the original. It's going to cost me close to $150 AUD to get this.

I'd like to say Day 1 but trying to get my ex-GF to go into a game shop will be a chore and then she has to ship it to me so... Day 7?

Game of the Year though. This has to be the best month for gaming ever?

Are we allowed to post a synopsis what the famitsu 'reviewers' said?

If so, can someone?

Also, this game needs to come out in the US. I missed out on the last one, too :(

Yeah you can.

From the review, it says the game has over 30 hours of gametime.

Woohoo, God bless you for the Official Thread, Kagari. I've just passed the 10 hour mark in Yakuza 2 tonight and have really been enjoying my time with it. I need to get alot better at the fighting but the storytelling, voice acting and presentation are all excellent. And there's nothing better for taking out a day's frustration than spending a little time in Kiryu Kazuma's shoes! :D

I'm still holding out hope for a US release for Ryu Ga Gotoku 3 but will be watching this thread with interest and hoping our friends in the Land of the Rising Sun buy PILES of this game. SEGA has really created an incredible character in Kazuma and he's become one of my favorite video game characters of all time.

according to 2chan there is rumored to be a demo hitting this thursday. i hope that's true!
That would soften the anxiety I'll have checking my mailbox for a bubble mailer every 30min. :D

They did demos for Kenzan so it wouldn't be unusual!

there was also a scan of the review write up but it was waaaaayyyy too small and blurry to read. not to mention you have to go to some porno spam website to get the link first which isn't cool seeing as i'm at work :(
