Just finished the game tonight!

Don't worry, I won't spoil the story. :p

I think the story overall was pretty good although there were two things that stood out to me as being a bit strange, but otherwise I felt it was a good story that tied up just about every loose end at the end of the game.

gameplay-wise i was kind of disappointed that there were only 10 revelations to be found, compared to kenzan which had a lot more (granted you always had 3 weapons available...)

What I did like was that the Heat Actions changed whenever you leveled up, although they handled all of that stuff via QTE. There's QTE stuff for everrrrything in this game. Heat Actions, Chase Battles, at least two in every boss battle... but they're not annoying since fights end rather quickly, at least they did for me. As you can see I didn't do a whole lot of sidestories, but I actually felt satisfied when I finished the game tonight. There's way too much content for me to tackle in this game: I finished over 30 sidestories (I got a trophy saying I did lol) and I felt that it was enough for me.

Overall very good game, but I'll have to give it some time before I can honestly compare it to the other games in the series.

whoooho so fucking nice , better Intro for the series yet , long but too awesome , Kazuma look bad ass as ever ...well as Musashi he was more bad ass ..but I blame the swords .

hell Kenzan engine is fucking great ..Shenmue , Panzer or JSR on this engine will be pure sex .

and some one plz just kill that lil bitch Haruka :(

Still haven't gotten my copy yet :(. They claimed it shipped almost 3 weeks ago.

where did you order it from? I pre ordered mine from yesasia :O

Finally finishing up Yakuza 2 because the demo for 3 got me hot and bothered. Forgot how much fun it is, and how addicting it can be. Really hope this comes to America.

thanks.

You have to search for the dog in Okinawa. It's somwhere near the river (so head left, NOT right straight into the city-centre)

After the dog ran away and is hiding behind the bike. Talk to the girl and get some dog-food at the M-Store

hopefully i could help you.

Finished the game yesterday on hard. Took me close to 70 hours since I did about half the substory missions (50) and a lot of the other optional stuff. Even on hard I never died once.

The amount of extra stuff in the game in insane. I'm playing the "New Adventure" mode where you get to keep everything you got, and I probably will put another 30 hours into the game before I'm bored.

It's one of my favorite PS3 games, although I still think Kenzan was more enjoyable. It's true that the graphics in the game can be not too appealing at times, and together with the minimal voice acting and cut-scenes makes it seem like the budget was on the low side. At least that means another installment is more likely!

It's an improvement over RgG2, but it's not fundamentally different. Satisfying fighting engine, and tons of interesting sidequests to do.

I did notice that the game wouldn't update some stats after a while (such as the total distance you've walked and the number of heat finishing moves you've done), and loading took much longer whenever I had a download in the background. Other than that, I haven't had any major bug (although in one of the kyabakura conversations they switched Kiryuu's and Saaya's lines!).

Regarding the cut-scenes in the game, in the "Premium Adventure" mode (unlocked after finishing the game) you have the option of changing Kiryuu's outfit, and I did and changed it to a shirtless one (his tattoo didn't seem to bother anyone, though, heh.). Then I started the submission where' 'Date' buys 'Mama' a ring, and in the cut-scene Kiryuu was shirtless, so either the cut-scenes are real-time or Sega took advantage of Blu-ray's increased capacity and stored multiple version of the cut-scenes (at least the ones that are part of the sidequests) to show based on what you're wearing.

sold off fallout 3, killzone 2 and halo wars today and with my spoils picked this and fiddy up (american and japanese gangsta double pack!).

i wasnt very impressed by the demo and i played an hour of this today. not sure how i feel about it at this point. ill wait till ive put a few more hours in and then see how i feel.

i will say that though i dont like the cheap way a lot of the story delivery is done (text progressed by button presses) i do think the story is well done. interesting and not too silly or overproduced just how i like a story to be.

Did you ever play um... older games?

The game does feel like it has a relatively low budget, from a dearth of voice acting to sometimes disappointing graphics. But if that means Sega is actually making money off this game rather than losing, then I'm ok with that.

hi
I'm stuck in the 2nd city
I have three waypoints
all set to the three taxi stands
but I have to clue what to do next
anyone can help?

i gave this a chance but even after putting another two hours in i found it boring.

i spent that two hours mainly running between characters progressing conversations about problems at school and meeting the okinawa mafia.

the golf was crappy and the only thing that stopped me from throwing my controller was the fact i could do any shot i took over.

not my cup of tea obviously. good news is i only lost 400 yen selling it off. gonna put the money towards gta chinatown.

Put some more time in it, I'm really enjoying it.

The golf is pretty sweet imo. Almost all the mini-games I have played have been. The UFO catcher and Answer X Answer are my favs so far.

The part where the one orphan girl took the other orphan girl's money was a heartwarming moment, sandwiched between face mangling street fights.

I'd like to take this one for a spin but playing this a FAQ side by side isnt fun to me.. remember doing this back in the day w/ SNES imports and even some PSX&Saturn titles and I just cant inject myself in the game that way.

Hopefully we get a US release.

This game is huge! I've done around 75 sidequests, and got 7 of the kabakura girls (I think you need all 9 to unlock Sayaka), and did some of the hitman missions and tournaments. So far 5 of the sidequests have cut-scenes to go with them. The 'coin locker' keys are a pain in the ass to find (only got about 70).

Maybe it's because I took my time with this game, but even on hard it was a cakewalk. I think I'll go back to Kenzan and try to do as many sidequests as possible.

I agree that the beginning was a bit too slow for my taste, with you helping out the kids with their own problems, etc.

i just dont have the patience these days to stick with things that i dont enjoy minute to minute.

i might have been a minute away from it all opening up and getting more interesting but the point i gave up at was the point i said to myself, im not having fun with this game.

that said the content packed nature of this game which you mentioned will surely be attractive to a lot of people.

I was really looking forward to this game after initial screens, but going by impressions it seems like there aren't really any big improvements made in the gameplay. The nitpicks I had in the first 2 are still around. Shame... Maybe I'll pick it up used sometime down the line.

Well, the new camera angle, and the improved graphics go a long way towards immersing the player in the game's world, compared to the PS2 editions. That and the masked loading before battles has lessened the amount of tediousness that I encountered with the PS2 games. I finished those in around 30 hours each, but for RgG3 I'm at the 110 hour mark so far, and will probably play another 10-20 hours.

Anyway Sega announced that it has achieved half-million sales.

Good for the team!

In a few months we can start a thread speculating what the team will do next.
