You could always purchase the soundtrack from virt.I did not know this, thanks for the info.
This thread has me teetering on purchasing Mighty Switch Force to experience the soundtrack, only thing holding me back is the games length
That's the overall impression I got by the end of it too; especially with the chiptune mixes towards the end of the soundtrack. I think it's his best soundtrack yet.Veal said:100% I haven't been disappointed by any of his music, but I really think this is the strongest so far. It reminds me of good, loud arcade game music and older anime themes!
Digital Devil Saga, 1 in particular.
Shoji Meguro's finest, imo. It's completely insane.
The last dungeon in particular is a work of genius. It's got so many layers that slowly get introduced as you climb the tower - it starts off as a small track, then every time you get to a new "layer" of the tower, the track gets one more layer added to it, so it ramps up in "epicness" as you climb up the tower, reaching the full amount of crazy at the last level, where the track is so crazy and pumps you full of adrenaline.
Seriously. DDS1 is my favorite PS2 RPG for a bunch of reasons, one of which is the soundtrack.
World of Goo!
The whole thing just goes seamlessly with the game, from jaunty and fun to haunting and intimidating, emotional and passionate... dude nailed what a soundtrack needs to be.
Nier Nier Nier Nier Nier. Championing that soundtrack never gets old.
The best soundtrack ever made on the N64.
- The Journey Begins At Mt. Fuji Road
- Holy Ground Pemopemo (Get Goosebumps)
- Goe Goe Spark (That's how you do music for a final dungeon!)
You could always purchase the soundtrack from virt.
I prefer the original JSR to be honest. Aisle 10 ruins JSRF for me :/The Jet set radio Future soundtrack.
I love how in a thread entitled "The one game soundtrack you want more people to know about...", you post a picture without naming the game.
Best soundtrack Yoko Shimomura ever did in my humble opinion.
Oh and this game
OST doesn't get anywhere near the recognition it deserves.
The best soundtrack in the whole Final Fantasy Universe. I love these instruments, the slight influences of celtic folk and the beautiful melodies.
- Kaze No Ne (I'm sure it had an influence on "Colony 9" from Xenoblade)
- Departure
- In The Gloomy Darkness
... Mutant Mudds is a retro 2D platformer with an incredibly catchy 8-bit soundtrack, and I can't get enough of it. Not a day has gone by since the game's release on January 26th where at least one of the songs wasn't stuck in my head, and I've even re-visited the game a few times just to soak up the fantastic tunes ...
What, no Xenoblade?
You guys should all be ashamed!
Indeed. It is amazing that the further you advance through the dungeons, the more instruments are added. Zelda got this idea several years later in Skyward Sword.
Goemons Great Adventure also has a great soundtrack, although I slightly prefer the first one. It is still great that they do the "more instruments while you advance" thing, and I love the change from the day themes to the night themes in many levels. GGA is indeed a great game, one of the finest platformers.Hey everyone, I may be new here (I've been lurking for a year or so), but seeing Mystical Ninja Starring Goemon mentioned, I just had to give a shout-out to the music of the sequel, Goemon's Great Adventure (Mystical Ninja Starring Goemon 2 in Europe).

I still want to buy that game, even though many say that it isn't that great.I like it's successor even more:
Ruins
Lett Highlands
Altfitaria Capitol
The instrumental selection of this OST is so damn good.
Someone, tell me I'm not the only one getting serious vibes of Ice Zone from Ecco the Dolphin off that track.I'd like more people to give Zen Puzzle Garden's soundtrack a listen. Module, who also composed Shatter's soundtrack, went for more of an ambient, soothing vibe here. Mizuumi no Tera is my personal highlight.
I came to post this!Soukaigi has some great music from Hiroki Kikuta. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2gceva3eF3k
Bourne Conspiracy
FANTASTIC soundtrack by Paul Oakenfold. Some great remixes of the Bourne theme as well. I'm really disappointed an OST was never released.
I wish I knew the one track where it's only one string instrument playing. It sounds so awesome.
I dont know, but i believe the skyrims OST is not getting the praise it deserves (skyrim in general gets to much hate, thats just my opinion). I even have it on my mp3 player and listen to the songs while i am outside.
you know, listening to this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iM2WsOXJMmo
while you run though snow covered woods, be exhausted as all hell, is really .... i dont know, "encouraging" might be the right word.
skyrim is the first game OST that managed to fight its way out of my console, into my computer, mp3 player, car etc.
