This is probably the best piece of music in any soulsborne game.

BTW: Just to be clear, I love Dark Souls 2. I think it's better than Bloodborne but not as good as Dark Souls 1 or 3.
 
I agree 100% Majula theme is magical. Just hearing it now creates such an emotional effect on me.


Firelink Shrine theme isn't far behind though. I'd rank them DSII>DS1>>>DSIII
 
I agree, and I'm not a fan of Dark Souls 2.

Another thing I have to give it credit for, is the PC optimization. Game runs at 60fps on a toaster.
 
Majula has my favorite hub theme. I like how it's simultaneously relaxing and unnerving.

Best piece of music in the series, however? It has stiff competition.
 
Speaking of DS2, I'm almost done with Dark Souls, should I go into DS2, or go straight to Bloodborne?

Seems like the red headed step child of the loose series, if we're counting the Sony games (Demon's/BB).
 
Nah man. I LOOOOOOOOVE Majula's theme, but Firelink Shrine is just something else.

And now I have to listen to Roe's remix again.

I'd suggest going to Bloodborne, but not ignoring Dark II. It's definitely still worth playing later on.
 
Nah, it's not the only thing.

The build variety is great too. Feels like you can do anything.

D2.

I played D2 after BB and didnt really like it too much after BBs awesome combat. Play D2 first and youll likely end up enjoying both.

I'd go Dark Souls 2 first, then Bloodborne.

Make sure you get the 3 Crown DLCs for Dark Souls 2. They massively improve the game. Same with the Old Hunters DLC for Bloodborne.
 
It's good, but I thought Firelink Shrine was vastly superior.

DkS2 though, it had... Uuh... A really nice limited edition cover art. Yup.
 
Aside from the screwy tracking, I thought DSII did everything better than I and III.

Even though it's not without its considerable flaws (no Souls game is, including Bloodborne), it's still my favourite in the series.
 
majula theme can grate on my nerves sometimes. the main riff has a tendency to burrow in my brain after i've played for awhile. that said it's up there in "iconic VG themes" imo

DS1 Firelink will always be my favorite. it's soothing yet mournful, as a way of saying "yo relax, this is the hub, kinda sorta. you're safe here... but you're really not"
 
It is for me the worst hub music in the Soulsbourne series. It's still very good but not close to the Nexus, Firelink Shrine and the Hunter's dream. It pretty much mirrors my opinion of the game.Good but not as good as the others.
 
It's definitely my second favorite, to me personally The Nexus will always be best. It's very possible it is only due to nostalgia, though
 
I'll give it to Firelink Shrine still, because of the way it works in the core gameplay. There's nothing like hearing those first few notes coming up from the Parish or escaping Blighttown.

Majula and Firelink Shrine both capture each game's mood so incredibly well that to say one does it better is an injustice—they're simply perfect.

My first playthrough of Dark Souls was MADE with that music.
 
I personally love the second theme that plays in DS3's Firelink Shrine the most.

I think it's called "Secret Betrayal".
 
Both ds1 and ds2 have hub themes that are better than 2. All are still really damn good and love each of them. But a shame the hub theme for two is the only song that stands out in any way.

Nexus is still the GOAT as far as I'm concerned. So much time spent there wondering what the fuck to do next, zoning on that theme.
 
I agree that Majula and it's theme provides the best hub experience in Dark Souls.

Best piece of music overall? Nah. But it's up there.
 
Both Firelink songs in Dark Souls 3 are equally as amazing as the hub music in its predecessors. Again, they capture the mood of the game perfectly. It's something that From seem to have a thing for.
 
Nexus + maiden is still the best. I'm not into pvp but I hear Dark Souls 2 does it better

I also think Firelink shrine music is better than Majula. I couldn't play Dark Souls 2 for more than a few hours so I don't have any kind of attachment to majula or it's theme
 
Havent play DS3 first expansion yet, but i think DkS2 expansions are all worth the entry price compare to Artorias of the Abyss expansion of DS1.
 
I'll agree as far as to say I love the general sense of Majula, including its theme, though I really don't have a single favourite among the hub themes as they are all great in their own way.

But saying DS2 > Bloodborne, now that is just plain heresy ;)
 
Let's just all agree the Hunter's Dream is the worst hub.

And this is coming from someone whose favorite From game is Bloodborne.
 
Every single hub theme is better than the Majula theme.

But the worst thing about Dark Souls 2 is when you craft Velstadt's weapon and it doesn't chime like a bell.
