Blizzard and Square have alot in common. They both went downhill fast after the 90s ended
Hyperbole is the worst thing in the universe.
I just installed the SC1 makeover in the SC2 engine. Played the first 4 missions or so, music is great as always and it brings back the nostalgia without burning my eyeballs.
I would post the link for the download but I am on my tablet. Just search "sc1 remake in sc2" should be a team liquid link.

Did they fix the AI in that? I tried it out when they first released the Terran campaign and it was hard as balls.
What does fixed AI mean? Matching the original terrible AI or making the game easier by giving the units better AI?
The campaign in SC1 was way easier than the mod version of it in SC2 when the mod first came out (and only had the terran campaign). I didn't look too much into it because I managed to beat it, but some missions were really, really hard since the AI was so tough to break, more aggressive than in SC1 and you didn't have that much resources.
Oh, for some reason I thought you meant the unit AI/pathfinding. Seems like the mod has difficulty settings now, if it didn't before.
Holy fuck. Man, you are better than the pope. Thank you for letting us know about this, you beautiful bastard
It's not hyperbole.Hyperbole is the worst thing in the universe.
It was handled so poorly - I thought he was joking around or something, or that they'd resurrect him in that same cutscene. Then the CG outro pops up and I realize it's the real deal. It's not hyperbole.
Deckard Cain's death in Diablo III is actually what I consider one of the absolute worst middle fingers to the fans in video game story writing history.
Okay, nevermind this. I take this back. The updated campaign looks nice, but has a ton of tweaks to the difficulty. The third mission - the one that I just played again 2 days ago in SC1 - is far, far, far more difficult in the updated. As in, you're getting wiped out pretty quickly. And that's with the help of medic units you couldn't access the first time around!
Blizzard writing is literally 9/11 times a hundred.

911,000?
Nice math there.
The city holdout (Mar Sara? Sar Mara?) map kicked my ass so many times before I was able to hold.Okay, nevermind this. I take this back. Yeah that was awful, and quite honestly Blizzard would be stupid to leave him dead. I think they should basically undo killing him and Leah off with some sort of story element in the expansion. And make Tyrael an angel again dammit.
One of those games where they got everything right. The wonderful music, great voice acting, fun balanced gameplay and interesting story and lore. Starcraft 2 improved the gameplay part alot but I think blizzard screwed up pretty much everything else. Nonetheless it's a good sequel, though as flawless as the original it will never be.
*Raises a glass to one of the greatest games ever made*
They could easily have hadTyrael return as the Archangel of Justice and somehow put Deckard as the embodiment of WISDOM. The old-man has been studying his whole life.

The voice acting was amazing. Can still recall the ever famous lines by the Protoss Zealots & Terran Battlecruisers![]()

The most amazing thing about Brood War was how any potential imbalance in the game was eventually overcome through the players' ingenuity and the design of the maps. Major innovations occurred in most matchups in the past decade despite there not being a single balance patch since 2001.
I think major innovations occurred in every match-up, actually. The development in StarCraft's metagame was my favorite part of it. I think I enjoyed Brood War more as a spectator than I did as a player - and I really loved playing it, as well.
Perfection. Not sure if it's nostalgia or because it's just THAT damn good, but I dunno... this game just towers over everything Blizzard has released since. the sequels are fun, but they don't hold a candle to the original. Don't even get me started on Warcraft 3... ugh.
RIP all those awful 2v2 shared / UMS maps never forget
Anybody who has played the updated SC1 in the SC2 client, can you help me find the difficulty settings? Just to make sure I wasn't crazy, I booted up SC1 and replayed the mission on hard. Not a single zerg made it through even my first line of defenses. I desperately want to play this thing with the updated visual, because I'm a graphics whore at heart, but this thing is set on Platinum status and I'm a bronze lifer here...
The missions do seem harder then 15 years ago. (Playing on "kerigan") but then again I am a better player then I was 15 years ago. I just am using the campaign as practise for my online play.
I agree, and that's one of the main reasons why it truly is the best game of all time in my eyes. You don't even have to buy the game to get over a decade of entertainment from it
