The original Street Fighter IV: As envisioned by Udon/Backbone

Thank the Lord and Capcom this never came to light. Unreal engine, free roaming Ryu. NPC's..lol Hell no.

Thankfully we were saved from this atrocity. One of those levels had Ryu walking up a hill fighting ninjas and encountering a damn log trap.

Leave the beat 'em up to Final Fight and keep Street Fighter a fighting game.

big deal. the western characters have never really looked like they were from the countries they supposedly were either.

no way is this Chun Li model better either. she doesn't remotely Asian, plus it looks legs don't meet in the middle. like you could fit a brick between them at her crotch.
 
Unreal Engine 3 in a fighting game sounds awful.

I think something like Ryu's Journey would be cool, though. Let us use any character. Or just meet us halfway and rip off VF's Quest Mode (if they didn't patent it like the Crazy Taxi arrow). I kind of wish SF4 had Quest Mode. No, I DO wish it had it.

She doesn't, but look at Ryu. He's even worse. Fei Long is the only one that looks fine.

You know I never thought about them making another FF game. Darkstalkers, MVC, yeah, but not FF. Think is would make a cool XBLA, using the SF4 engine like they did Bionic Commando.

Isn't Final Fight already dead? Capcom has something going with this "HD Remix" stuff. Bionic Commando and SFII were awesome. They should do Final Fight (original), Mega Man (MM9 was fantastic in 8-bit) and of course.....MAHVEL!!!!!!!!!!

Udon has a deal with Final Fight, so Final Fight HD Remix is entirely possible

I thought Capcom was pissed off that HDR fell into that black hole and took forever to come out. As SF3 has sadly proved, Capcom seems to have this whole, you're dead to me attitude, not sure they'd want to do a 2D HD remix game again...

If you are referring to the recent appearance of that ditched FF concept, that was Capcom Production Studio 8, and it became Streetwise. And they are now shut down.

I hate the Udon pseudo-anime wannabe art style
I am tired of Backbone's attempts of being retro cool but giving us glitchy products.

Backbone/Digital Eclispse might have been fine during the PS2/Xbox generation,
but now in the PS3/360 Gen, they have been disapointing in the quality department.

I am happy that Street Fighter IV was handled by Ono's crew + dimps in Japan.. their art direction is 100000 miles better than the fake-anime of Udon, and the gameplay is Japan made
 
Of course I'm glad THAT didn't end up being SF4, but I'd love to play a campaign-style SF action adventure starring Ryu *shrug

It would be so gloriously cheesy and the universe is fun

Udon's at least more competetent than whoever made the hideous anime openings and endings of SFIV.

Really though, SF characters have always been animu. So by default they barely look like any real world ethnicities.

Well it will be interesting to see what Capcom does when they get around to making Street Fighter 4.

The anime prologues and endings are total shit and everyone agrees, and everyone agrees they should have gone with in-game models or stills instead

but Udon are not animators and they have never animated anything, hell Udon art illustrators who had a hard timing doing sprites for HDRemix,, so much trouble in fact that it took longer to produce than the actual Street Fighter IV

Udung are barely artists.

There's only so much you can learn from tracing Capcom Design Works.

The only two people there worth a shit are Jo Chen, who isn't really part of Udung, and Tsang guy. The rest - BARF! There's a reason they work for Udung and not Marvel or DC. :lol :lol :lol

Seriously, the best ending in that game HAS to be Nash(Charlie)'s. After getting killed by Dictator in the last two games, he basically is allowed to go utterly buckwild in "exacting his vengeance" in the third game. :D

I always frown on focusing on one particular character though, like the Ryu mode. What about the rest of the characters?

I thought "Beat em up" referred to side scrolling games like Final Fight, TMNT, etc.

Secret edit: Backbone and UDON need to be kept away from any and all Capcom franchises.

Might as well extend that to all of video games.

I'm pretty sure Udon is about to release an animated version of their first run of SF comics.

I'm pretty sure Udon has worked with Marvel before.

I'm pretty sure "Udung" isn't as funny as you think it is.

Of course, Udon is just a company. Most of the credit should go to the artists themselves. HD remix suffered because every artist had to draw every frame in the exact same style.
