Most retarded list i ever saw.

This whole thread just become straight diarrhea of delusion console fans that know nothing about hardware even remotely. And actually think they are getting a high end PC. Yet have a console that can't even render control at lowest pc settings without having to drop the settings even further. That the most budget friendly PC can do.

The only future the PS5 has in 2-3 years from now is the PS5 pro.

So far PS5:

WDL - ~2060 Super
ACV - ~2080 (game favor AMD quite a bit so GPU charts are not as usual)
Hitman 3 - ~5700XT, 2060 Super
COD: BO - ~2080 Super (?) - mostly thanks to settings that can't be set lower on PC like RT quality and alpha buffers

And Control don't have direct comparison but settings are quite low on consoles.

The price to performance ratio you get out of the PS5 is currently unmatched in the PC space. A 5600x is a 400 dollar CPU. A 3060 is a 400 dollar GPU, an SSD that matches the speed of what the PS5 has is 200+. Minus the insane amount of I/O customization on the PS5.

This is coming from seomeone who owns a 3090 RTX. You're delusional.
Yeah but we weren't talking about price to performance ratio.

How many more pages of cope are we gonna get?

Let the man explore new horizons in peace. Clearly unsatisfied with his platform choice. It's what it's. Nvidia and Gabe just not getting it done - for a long while now. The grass is simply greener on the other side.

That Ragnarok bliss is waiting for him... I don't think he'll be going back.

um...(just looked a few post back) that’s exactly what you’re doing when you’re talking about building a PC for X amount and comparing it to the cost of Y console. In relation to how you can get Z performance based on the X amount.

So is it supposed to be some sort of revelation that a PS5 that is being sold at a loss, is a better pice to performance than something that isn't subsidized? Its stupid to think so. But let's also not kid ourself that the consoles are some panacea of power. On any game with DLSS, a basic 2060 will comfortably annihilate PS5/SeriesX. Lets also not pretend that the associated costs don't add to the expense (70$games/PS+) over time. There has to be some reason to subsidize the upfront cost or else the console will bankrupt the companies that make them...

The box has hardware in it and that hardware is limited by what it can do.

A PS4 can't render witcher 3 at 120 fps. Not because the software is the limit. no because the hardware is the limit.

A PS5 can't run control at 8k 120 fps and ultra settings with max raytracing. Why not? because there is no hardware in that box that allows for it. It's simple.

And what your next gen release of whatever game is going to be will again perform better on PC if it arrives on PC because of the simple reason PC software and hardware always evolve.

Will next gen games look better then control. Yes that's not the point.
There is no hardware able to run 8k60fps even on PC you fucking idiot!

It’s been over 16 years since HL2 came out and you haven’t found anything that made you go “damn I wish I could play that”?

.

No, not really. Half-Life 2 was the last game I was interested in that wasn’t possible on consoles. Of course it came out much later on consoles. But it was the last game where I was like “wow, I need a pc to experience this”

Now most games use the consoles as the main platform so the need for a gaming pc has totally evaporated, for me. And I don’t feel the need to upgrade just for one game.

Can’t wait for the Ps5 version of Half-Life Alyx.

Fine post until you said this line. $150 for 5 years of PS+ does not add significant cost, and the game prices are relative to the individual and what they play and when they buy

300$ (60$ a year x 5 years) thats 3/4 of a PS5 digital. Even at 150$ (not sure where that figure comes from unless there is a 5 year deal or something) still adds to the total cost of consoles. 70$MSRP is higher than PC and PC prices are generally more discounted and discounted at a faster clip. Not sure what you are arguing here tbh... are you saying a higher MSRP and cost of online play don't matter? Thats just not true.

That figure comes from ppl who are smart enough to shop online instead of PS+ standard price lol but i'll concede i'm sure there are plenty of those.

So if someone could get a 3060ti for below half of the msrp, because they are smart, could they use the price they paid as a default reference point for all, like you did? It's just odd that you act as if everyone pays $150 for 5 years of psn, yet this is the first I'm hearing that? Could the same be applied, if smart people used coupons and deals for a 3300/3100 + 3060 ti, etc? As they could probably get close to the $500 price of a ps5. But again, price isn't everything. Performance, on the other hand is. Id gladly pay more for a real burger vs mcdonslds, front row tickets vs nosebleed seats, 144fps vs 30fps, low latency vs high latency.

If price was my only concern, like you for instance, I too would have a xsx or ps5 instead of a pc. I could get the console for pretty cheap. I'd be ok with paying for online, I'd be ok paying for higher priced DLC, id be happy to pay for more expensive games, etc. And with the amount of games that I play, ps5 would be so much more expensive than my PC, but since I'm smart, I went with PC for my preferences.

I only have a potato, but I like the struggle to get games working well personally, it's part of the appeal of the PC platform for me. A lot more can go wrong, sure, but solutions will either be forthcoming by the developer eventually or the community will find a way to fix it. If you just want to play games with no faffing about, then consoles are the way to go, no sweat. But the freedom we have on our platform of choice cannot be even nearly approached by the consoles!

I wish I had your hardware though, you don't know how good you've got it!

I'll reserve my judgement until Sony's first party studios show their hand on exclusive PS5 games. The SSD in my current computer cost just as much as an entire PS5 just so I can exceed the speed of what the PS5 has. With that said, it still doesn't match the I/O customization in the PS5. The PC is one gigantic bottleneck with singular parts trying to work in harmony.
The problem with that is that you can't compare those to anything. You don't know the equivalent settings which should be something known to actually compare pcs to consoles.

Adventure (fps) games like Half-Life and The Last of Us. Resident Evil, Silent Hill etc. Shadow of the Colossus is also one of my favorites.

RPG’s. Final Fantasy, DQ, Elder Scrolls. Souls Games.

(action) platformers like Mario or Ratchet

Metroidvania (fps) games like Hollow Knight and Metroid Prime.

I’m not a fan of mmo’s, online games in general, fps such as CoD. And I don’t like sport and racing games either.

Playstation + Nintendo offer everything I need as a gamer. For now. But will definitely need to get the Xbox for the next Elder Scrolls game. It’s cheaper than building a gaming PC.

Fair enough, and it makes sense.
I'm primarily a console person even though I've been playing on PC since the late 90s. I actually just got a Series X despite being one of the why would you ever get a Xbox if you have a PC and I love it. Game Pass is a ridiculous value so check it out if you end up grabbing one.

Basically this. I’m fan of Japanese games and currently both PlayStation and Nintendo has everything I need. For now I just don’t see the point of investing on gaming PC.

I quit PC gaming completely other than Blizzard games on my MacBook (and playing Everquest via Bootcamped W10).

PS4 and now my PS5 have the graphical fidelity, optimization, and ease of use that is just perfect for me.

Being in IT and sitting at a computer all day doesn't help... but I doubt I'll own a gaming PC ever again.

Unless you want PC exclusives there’s literally no point in going PC anymore unless you want to wank off over 600% zoom DF differences in third party games while paying 3x the price to get them.
I'm guessing you never owned a PC, or even non gaming PC? I could be completely wrong though, but from your reasoning, I figure it's a safe bet. If I was wrong, I'm sorry, but you don't need to zoom in to appreciate the differences, as you can immediately feel the responsiveness, and see the higher resolution, more effects and particles on screen, sharper image, etc. Plus the ability to multitask and do a million and one other things.

A good TV goes a long way these days. Games look amazing on console regardless of the extra details a PC might offer, while the response time and controller latency is perfect. Competitive gaming is a niche area.

I may never put a GPU in my 6900k/32GB ram machine.

I'm literally about to play the 007 Goldeneye remake right now. This is going to be a hell of a nostalgic weekend! And this will probably never make it to consoles either. I guess it's a PC exclusive that everyone wanted, but didn't expect.

I honestly feel with streaming and online gaming going hand in hand more than ever, PC will continue to dominate twitch, YouTube, etc, more now than ever. Tournaments, e sports, etc.

I'm more into pc gaming because of the amount of freedom and control there is.
I have a great time doing things such as playing Enderal (skyrim mod thats basically a new game), playing Witcher 3 EE or any other mod that completely changes and improves gameplay, testing out Daggerfall unity, exploring freewares on itch io and steam, playing old games such as Blood, Deus Ex, Legacy of Kain, Planescape Torment, etc, etc.

All of this is stuff i simply can't do on console.

I mean all us choose which system to game solely based games we are interested in. They are gaming systems, games is the only thing matters.
I wonder how this will play out with more Sony exclusives, heading to PC now than ever. I'm sure the mindset will change a good bit this generation. TLOU multiplayer and GOW coming next according to close ppl at naughty dog and other leaks.

The quality of the games matter, too. And best quality for everything other than console exclusives = pc.
I'm not exactly obsess about having most advance graphics, I'm more than happy with my console's visuals and still able to play their exclusives games. I don't feel need to waste money to get another system just to get better version multiplatform games. I'm not saying PC doesn't have their own exclusives but for my taste, consoles have more exclusives I enjoy, especially when it comes to Japanese games.

Me neither. I am more obsessed with performance, controls, gameplay and IQ. And the platform that can give the best of this all is pc.

It's always about the games. You can see the circular firing squad of hardware talk when you discuss things with PCMR folk. The conversations are all consuming on hardware - very expensive hardware too of which the return do not justify the investment - but it's their money so.... spend away like a good soldier. We know there is nothing else to really fill that void other than fapping to transistors. Talk about big blockbusters games and the conversation is pretty much over - and they know that. And it's kinda funny cause we talking gaming after all. Some folk just like to eat less and while paying more and then turn around to look at someone's else plate wanting to eat what they're having (some vocally admit to it, while others keep appearances to the contrary, despite their eyes telling the whole story). Can't help them - it's how they're wired, despite the solution hitting them straight in the face.

Yet people still buy Xbox. I also don't think the PS thing will turn out the way people think it will. At least not anytime soon. Sony are still at the top (with Nintendo) so still have reasons to make people buy their hardware. Xbox started migrating games to PC half way through last generation when they were getting their ass kicked and less and less Xbox's being sold.

And yet, he is still in his right to be perfectly okay with console performance and quality. Over 110M people bought a PS4, and Switch is nearing 100M soon. Hell even Xbox One is probably around 50M or more. People still choose consoles, whether posters here approve of it or not.

You sound like a person who knows absolutely nothing about the current PC gaming landscape - you're nearly as big a retard as that aspie who won't stop posting 'ROFLMAO' in here, and that's saying something.

PC gaming isn't for you. At all. Stay far away from it, and stick to your toys. It's fine, nobody gives a shit what you do. Opining on the PC gaming market, though? That's definitely something you should stay far away from. That other loser should do the same.

You guys seem to think that people give a fuck what you do. Buy every goddamn console, if that's what makes you happy. And, if you don't like people making fun of console gaming - stay out of those threads. It's really easy. Jesus, most of GAF is Sony central, you're spoiled for choice if you want to jerk off to the latest Naughty Dog atrocity.

You do realize everyone has their preferences? Some like mcdonald's, some prefer an actual high quality burger. Some are sensitive to low framerates, unstable framerates, framedrops, high input latency, etc. Those of us that like the better things in life, prefer the better performance.

Prime example, I have phenomenal hearing, better heading than 99+% of people. I can differentiate 1/64th of an octave from another. My headphone setup is more expensive than my 3090. This is because I have a fascination with audio, and my gaming preference is not far off from this. I'm just sensitive to some things, and i also can appreciate higher quality stuff. I'm not a snob or anything, as I'm cheap af in other aspects of my life, but the point is, we all have our preferences.

With that being said, not everyone likes the top 10 movies on netflix or the box office, and can appreciate games that aren't catered to the masses. Same with movies. Not every blockbuster game is going to be well received, look at cyberpunk for example. Literally only PC gamers loved the game, while Sony took the game off the store. Was the game bad? Far from it, but console players and PC players had night and day differences on opinions on the game.

Any second now, they're going to reach for the 'Last Of Us 2' card to play, as though it is completely unthinkable that a person could have no interest in third person walking simulators with hours and hours of B-movie cutscenes. Meanwhile, 'Half Life: Alyx' is a goddamn technical and gaming masterpiece but it doesn't count because reasons.

High blood pressure post.

He can choose whatever he wants. Who is saying otherwise?
I should have really worded my post to be less directed only towards you. It's more directed at the droves of posters who act like everybody that buys consoles is a fucking dolt.
"You guys" You have no clue about how and what I play games on.
I shouldn't even respond to this but there shouldn't be threads full of people shitting on other people's choices either direction. We are on this forum because we enjoy games yet a lot of people refuse to try to find common ground with people that have other choices in platforms. How does people choosing consoles affect anybody enough for them to even bother caring? All of these threads are fucking stupid.

It's posts where people say shit like "people that enjoy the finer things in life" that are just thinly veiled PCMR posts which makes PC users look just as stupid as the people talking shit about PC. Every thread about consoles you have some twat coming into make some drive buy shitpost. Just like in every PC thread you get somebody making a drive by post about "wow 15% more pixels for 3x the price" bullshit.

Who cares what you play on? You are unimportant beyond belief. Nobody - and I mean nobody - gives a fuck about you, or what platform you choose to play games on.

This thread devolved into the advantages of PC's versus consoles. Again. And it was the same arguments - again. Console people, like yourself, babbling endlessly about how important it is to make sure that your gaming experience is as cheap as it possibly can be, and reiterating your message that it is very important to spend the least amount possible on your hardware. And, PC players reacting with varying levels of salt and sass - which is ultimately irrelevant, since by every imaginable metric, the PC is the superior platform.

Rather than just accepting that and, correctly, saying 'I understand that, but I'd rather play games on a console', you guys continue to mount these idiotic and bizarre arguments which either revolve around how much money you don't have, or how the most important thing in any gamer's diet is Sony's first party output.

Just let it go. The PS4/5 is fine for you. That's all that matters. Go play with your console.

You literally threw a bunch of insults. What you talking about? I would call you an idiot, clearly appropriate, but that's just not my style.
I didn't 'literally' throw a bunch of insults. I threw a bunch of insults, supporting the contention that you are completely ignorant of PC gaming - as evidenced by your post history.

Just stop embarrassing yourself.
