The REAL February NBA Thread - Accept No Substitute

They let Collison rape them on the offensive boards while comitting dumb turnovers on the other end in the final minutes. Up 5 with like 3 to go then you give up 6pts on one posession? Ouch...

Well getting killed on the boards is nothing new, certainly not with Adleman not playing his best rebounders. (Way to go coach!) Ordinarily this team is clutch at the end of games with Bibby and Webber. Not this time though.

Webber has been playing really well for the last two weeks. hitting his 3s too.

I was rooting for a third triple double, but the win would have been nicer. alas we get neither

That no call against Phoenix really ended up costing the team two losses.

PS: What was with Marv Albert and the dyed red hair? God that was hideous.

Ray-gun and Lewis went off...

actually both teams played really good games, each made careless mistakes the kings' were just more costly. Rar ray was hitting everything, bibby was hitting his, mobly was drilling threes, peja was hot, daniels was great.

edit: forgot lewis

:lol

Ok man time to let it go or are you just gonna go all the way and blame all your team's missed layups and 16 other losses on the "no call" as well, gee sorry the ref didn't give you and pussy-ass can't-dunk Brad Miller the benefit of the doubt when he got his weak shit swatted out of the arena and you didn't have the privilege of taking the Suns to OT, which wouldn't have been a guaranteed win by any means. Any team worth shit wouldn't let some little thing like that affect them at all anyway.

Uhm, both teams in the Suns-Kings games missed shots, missed layups even. Both teams had defensive lapses and all the other crap that is mentioned in sports cliches like "they should have done this.." I don't want to go into why that logic is blind, but really dude, using sports cliches is annoying and unflattering. Anyways, you don't want to light the fire here. I could go on a Loki sized rant on NBA officials, especially the Kings who have a history with them going back years upon years. Far before the Lakers series which gave them this image.

And any person worth a shit doesn't like the feeling of injustice. Goaltending, then the officials ran off the court without conferring on the play, then you get fined and suspended for someone else's mistake.

And--- I do think having your starting center would help a team rebound better, but maybe I am crazy.

Well I was just quoting fans from a Kings message board about why the Kings need to get over it and all the other shit they should have done that would make the whining about the end irrelevant.

And any person worth a shit doesn't like the feeling of injustice. Goaltending, then the officials ran off the court without conferring on the play, then you get fined and suspended for someone else's mistake.

Hey if you feel there is a close call against your team that went the other way in a regular season game, it's definitely fine to whine about it for a day or two, but to then go on blaming losses two days later on it and to continue whining is a bit overboard imo.

And--- I do think having your starting center would help a team rebound better, but maybe I am crazy.

Who said it wouldn't?

ps-

What you should really be worried about is Kobex rooting for your team. I don't know if you'll even win another game until that's taken care of.

Well I mentioned this game, because the lost the game due to rebounding and Miller would have helped there. That's all I was saying. It ended up costly to not have him.

I've warned him twice already!

:lol

Kobex is literally the most powerful force in the NBA now. He can change the fate of the entire league day-to-day.

The Kings have lost to 2 really good teams these last few nights, but they proved to me that they are at least capable of putting up a fight. When the playoffs come around, the Kings experience should help them get over the hump against these 2 teams, and the only teams that can still beat the Kings in a seven game series are the Spurs, and Minesotta (if they ever get their act together).

Webber has been extremely clutch this year. His free throw shooting has improved tremendously, he is hitting some threes, and is willing to take and make the big shot. I don't understand how a guy who is capable of putting up a trip dub every single night is not worthy of making the All Star team. I really hope he can win at least one championship so that they have to put him in the Hall Of Fame. If he doesn't make it, it will be an injustice to humanity.

I honestly think that every single player except for Chris Bosh is on the block. I'm not trying to be funny, that's just how messy things are with our team. It's sad when after moving Vince....an ex superstar who is now playing like one again, a man with the character of a greedy whore, the best player we recieved in that trade wants out, and he's not even that good(Eric Williams). These draft picks had better pay off...Or else we will have lost T Mac and Vince and gained nothing. That's pretty disgusting. Also, Jalen Rose is getting paid 16 million dollars! We have to move him, even if he's our best player at times, especially in the fourth. For some reason I think we'll stand pat at the deadline, although I hope I'm wrong. I don't know if our GM will lead us in the right direction, but the direction we're headed in now makes no bloody sense. Everyone's bitching and we don't have the pieces we need if we're going to build around Bosh.

Now according to theStar.com the agent of Aaron and Eric Williams wants them both out of Toronto. Babcock trying to work a buyout with Mourning so he could be a free agent and then sign with the Heat? I don't know what the hell is going on anymore. I have zero clue on Babcock's strategy with Zo.

As a Knicks fan while I was growing up living in upstate NY I hated Reggie Miller for what he did to us... but I always respected his shooting ability... and the fact that he played his entire career with the same time.

Kudos.

Who will throw them 'bows now? Hey Batigool, breathe easy now...
SALT LAKE CITY -- Karl Malone is retiring, ending a career in which he became one of the NBA's greatest power forwards and was No. 2 on the league's all-time scoring list. Malone, who teamed with guard John Stockton for 18 seasons with Utah to form one of the NBA's greatest duos, will announce his retirement Sunday, the Jazz said Friday. Malone, who is 41 and underwent knee surgery last summer, is healthy and works out every day but has not played since last season with the Los Angeles Lakers. He joined the Lakers in an attempt to win an elusive NBA championship, but failed to do so despite playing with Shaquille O'Neal and Kobe Bryant.

Malone will announce his exit at a news conference at the Delta Center in Salt Lake City. His agent, Dwight Manley, said Malone was "very serious" about returning to action with the San Antonio Spurs before he decided to retire.

"I can tell you he's given a tremendous amount of thought to this decision, but the specific details are best left to him to make on Sunday," Manley said. Manley had said in October that his client wasn't ready to play but that if he returned, it would only be with the Lakers. That changed late last year after Malone was accused by Kobe Bryant of making a pass at his wife. Malone, through Manley, denied the accusation and apologized to Bryant and his wife for any remarks she might have considered inappropriate.

Stockton, who with Malone formed the famed pick-and-roll tandem, retired after the 2002-03 season.

I posted this in another thread, just need to get it off my chest. :lol :lol

Warriors front office makes more dumbass decisions than any other team, IN HISTORY!
Just that the Warriors make this mistake a little too often (it's starting to be a conspiracy).

Let's start from 2002 (2003/ 2004, not too many people they could've got with their respective picks)...
2002 - they got Mike Dunleavy (3rd pick - holy shit does this guy suck ass!). They could've got Amare Stoudemire (who went 9th).
2001 - Jason Richardson (5th pick- I actually liked this pick, he is a very good player right now).
2000 - they didn't even have a first round pick
1999 - Jeff Foster (21st pick- who the fuck?!?!?! Coulda got Andrei Kirilenko)
1998 - Vince Carter (5th pick) WHY DID WE TRADE HIM! God.
1997 - Adonal Foyle (8th pick) 9th pick was T-Mac.... :\
1996 - Todd Fuller (WHAT THE FUCK!) 11th pick... Coming up later in the draft? Kobe, Steve Nash, Jermaine O'Neal, Stojakovic.... GOD DAMNIT.

AND THE WORST YEAR EVER?!?!?!!
1995 - Joe Smith (1st Pick)......... We even had Kevin Garnett come to practice with us, I saw the tape of this back in the day, he jumped up and was touching the top of the backboard (yeah... coming out of high school). Others from this year? Antonio McDyess, Jerry Stackhouse, Rasheed Wallace (LOL these guys all came before K.G.)

Man Warriors suck. I love the team, but every choice they make is fucking horrible. Sorry had to get this off my chest.
Only reason I don't really post in this thread... maybe i'll jump on a bandwagon. I think I have to because it's going to be years till they finally have a good front office. I don't think Chris Mullen is going to do anything right for them. Why would you sign Troy Murphy to such a long deal, coming off a knee surgery? He's not averaging a double-double this year either. Jason Richardson is the best player they got, but he's not a player you can trust to win you the game. :\

The Spurs are crap w/o TD. Why is this guy rarely mentioned for MVP? Ginobili, the alleged Allstar isn't doing anything and they are getting man-handled so far....by the Nets!

edit: TD is playing? :lol

WOWEE! Raptors are down by 15+, and Vince has scored 40 in the third. My hate knows no bounds. That guy is to basketball what Sammy the bull is to the mob. A sellout, a rat, a snitch. No "all star" should ever play with whatever sub 50% effort he gave while he was in Toronto this year.

Rockets rock :D

6 game win streak,30-21....Dallas you better watch your back.

Bruce Bowen is a dirty bastard. VC ejected...

That he is....disgusting that they let him get away with shit like that, but I would have laughed if Vince hurt his knee... I guess that makes me evil :lol

Yup, Bowen is without a doubt the dirtiest player in the game.

Edit: Didn't bowen take vince out for 9 games doing that same shit last season?

The NBA needs to crack down on that undercut bullshit. He hurt VC last year with it and he did it again tonight. Total bullshit and VC lost it....

Hey Konex, that alleged All-Star went for 12 points in the 4th to help secure the win. I'm sure you think even Odom deserves it more. Too bad for you.

And :lol @VC

Carter is such a girl. He can't handle the Rash. Bowen will get in your face and won't back down. He barely moved from his spot after Carter jumped. Too bad VC thinks he should be given whatever space he wants to maneuver. Not with Mr. Bowen, pussy!

There's a reason why Kidd said it should've been a double foul and nothing more. But Carter exploded.

dude STFU. Bowen's got a rep on this shit already, and it didn't develop out of thin air. The bitch is dirty. Period. And he's the worst kind of dirty player, as he acts like he's done nothing wrong every time. At least Karl Malone didn't apologize for throwing elbows in fucker's faces.

I absolutely abhor NBA officiating. This shit is like wwf. The refs being biased and not being held accountable and making terrible calls in general. And it's funny how the commentators always give the refs a nice BJ and agree with any call they make...

Sacramento is getting bailed out on every fucking play. Geezus.

Carter exploded because Bowen took him out for 9 games doing that exact same shit last season. We all know Bowens MO. The man's dirty, plain and simple. I'm sure spurs fans love him though.

Whatever. Bruce gets so close to his man when defending that when the other guy jumps, both are always extremely close when the guy lands, especially when they try to jump towards Bruce. It's not his fault that guys like VC know shit about playing defense, so it's all new to them.

Kidd, on the other hand, knows how to play D and he recognized it was nothing out of the ordinary.

Wow, that's almost as bad as the Laker fans defending Game 6 of the 2002 WCF :lol

Bowen being such a dirty player wouldn't be half as annoying if we didn't have to hear spurs fans talking out their ass trying to convince people he's just "playing good D". No, Duncan plays good D, Bowen just plays dirty.

Kidd said calling a double foul would have been the right call.

http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/recap?gid=2005021117

I'd rather listen to a guy like Kidd, who knows what he is talking about, than a bunch of people who have already crucified Bruce for being the best and toughest perimeter defender in the league. The only history here is the one VC has as a little crybaby bitch.

Hey Konex, that alleged All-Star went for 12 points in the 4th to help secure the win. I'm sure you think even Odom deserves it more. Too bad for you.

Actually I think Webber, Parker or Bibby deserve it more (in that order). Lamar is better than Manu but he's no allstar...

I have to side with VC here. That undercut manoeuver is fucking bullshit. I dunno how anyone can support dirty play like that. It's total crap and an injury prone guy like Vince is well within his rights to be upset. Remember, your boy basically ended his season last year...

PS: He dropped a pretty efficient 43 on Bowen in like 37 minutes so I'd say he handles "the rash" pretty well :p
