I know Piston's hispanic, so it's understandable that he gets Telemundo, but I bet Konex just has it for the hot chicks. :O :P

Kobe bringing out all the goodies today (like 5 incredible shots already) but the Lakers D is TERRIBLE!!!!
 
Why are there so few national games anymore? I remember back a few years ago during NBA season there was hardly a moment I would turn on the tv without there being some NBA on, especially on a sunday when nbc used to have those triple headers all day. I remember like every week night there would be a game on TNT or TBS at least 4 out of 5 nights. Does league pass have something to do with this? Do they not want anybody not having league pass to enjoy any form of NBA action outside or their local team? It's really buggin me not havin shit to watch on tv and I cant even just watch basketball anymore.
 
No, I knew you had League Pass, I just didn't think they showed it if it was on another major station (the way they didn't show games that were televised on TNT on League Pass channels when I used to have it).

Yeah, who the hell knows. Now that football's over, I have NO IDEA why we don't get double-headers on ABC every Sunday. That's how it used to be--r ight after the Superbowl, we'd get basketball every Sunday. Weird.

Only ESPN/ABC and TNT games don't come on. Pistons games are blacked out obviously since they are on local tv...

Blame ABC, I really wish ABC/ESPN didn't get the NBA TV contract. I wish it was still TNT, TBS and NBC. Good news is that ABC/ESPN's deal ends in a couple of years, maybe CBS or Fox can out bid them.

Ugh. Seriously, ABC and ESPN are HORRIBLE. ABC only shows games when they feel like it and ESPN has the worst halftime and game crews ever. Their announcers don't even talk about the game 80% of the time. :|
 
Yeah, but why WOULDN'T ABC show games on Sundays is the question-- I mean, what do they have playing right now, for instance? Undoubtedly something that won't be as successful ratings-wise. Even guys who don't follow basketball will watch ball on a Sunday, since that's the day for chilling out and watching sports. ABC sucks ass. :D

Hey, ABC has NBA Inside Stuff! That's how you use that $2.2 billion you paid to show basketball games...
 
The thing is, TNT still shows games sometimes, but its damn sure not as much as they used to. I remember nightly double headers on TNT and TBS so I could always depend on some b-ball to be on if there was nothing else to watch. It's obvious TNT has the best crew for doing games and their after show is funny as hell. I just dont get why they can't do that every night like they used to.

Because, you know, the $600K salary that Barkley, Smith, and Ernie Johnson get to do TNT games isn't enough to get them to work 3 days/week. :lol
 
Law and Order 24/7 does better in the ratings then NBA games.

I blame Stern, if you want to do as well as the NFL you can't focus on "star" players, you have to make the focus on the teams so that people will always stick around and watch regardless of who is playing. Look at people like Loki, they get infatuated with some dude and then stop watching live games and resort to watching tapes of games from 1986.

I don't think Stern will ever get that though. :(

The bottom of the the Western Conference Playoff Picture is damn ugly right now (Lakers, T-Wolves especially). Hopefully things will shape up and one of the teams will pick it up, but God knows who.

I'd say the Nuggets are looking good for that 8th seed, They are 7-4 in Feb and play the Hornets tonight which could bring them to 2 games behind the Lakers. Imagine the look on Konex's face if CARMELO knocked Kobe out of the playoffs for the first time in his career :lol

There is something in ESPNs website that kills my firefox. It used to work fine before.

Looks like the Lakers are not going to the playoffs.
 
That was one pitiful ass 4th Quarter by the Lakers, turnover after turnover. What the hell happened to Mihm, I checked the recap and he only played 11min the whole game. WTF!

apparently the coaching staff feels having a somewhat athletic, decent shotblocking, young big man on the floor in the clutch is less important than giving playing time to a man with 40 lbs of dreadlocks and no knees.
 
To be fair, Mihm was playing like dogshit (defensively) to start. I do think he should have been in at the end though. He'd have got that rebound Grant didn't get (since he didn't leave his feet) and the Lakers would have had a chance to tie...

our whole team has been ridiculously inconsitent, from Kobe to Lamar to Caron, ect.. all season, but Mihm is the one guy i don't blame as much cause even back when Rudy was coach they were horrendous about his playing time. I don't understand why the guy can't get in meaningful games in the 4th quarter. Its ridiculous.
