Ok Bati. Bowen goes under Vince, thats infraction #1. So you say that this is incidental good defense. Okaaaaaay..

Then Bowen keeps hopping back in towards Carter. Evidence #2.

Finally, and perhaps the cheapest part is where Bruce whips lis left leg back to trip Carter even more. This is after he had kicked that same leg up underneath Vince.

These Bowen gif's are like WMDs for Spursfans.

And yay for Kobe being back!

Spurs fans should just admit he is a dirty mutherfucker. You need a few dirty players on your team though. We have Divac on the lakers and he was dirty, now he is just old and useless and eats up valuable salary cap space. :(

from houston chronicle....

"Trade watch

Portland's Derek Anderson said he has been told he will be traded to the Rockets, and he hoped the deal goes through.

"It's just not meant for me (in Portland)," Anderson, 30, said. "They said I was coming here, but I haven't heard anything. I hope they make a decision soon. I'd love to be here if the opportunity presents itself."

A Rockets source said the deal was discussed "about a month ago" and has not been addressed since. "

GET IT DONE!

Wow Warriors actually took the Suns to OT. 106-102 win for the Suns though, tied with SA for league's best again.

Great quote from Marion:

When you play the Warriors, one thing you know is they will miss a lot of shots.

He followed it up with:

They go after the boards hard.

But still :lol.

Bo'f Teams Played Hard.

New PRs are out:

1 (2) Suns 40-12
The bench is filling out, with Wal-tuh joining Jim Jax ... but it's too little, too late for 70 wins.

2 (3) SuperSonics 35-14
January (8-7) wasn't super, but Supes are a sparkling 5-1 in February, and 9-3 overall against .640-or-better teams, even after losing at home Sunday to Dallas.

3 (4) Heat 39-14
Heat take a lot of, well, heat for their record against the West, but Sunday's win over SA makes them a passable 12-10. Better than '78 Bullets, who won it all as a sub-.500 team vs. West.

4 (1) Spurs 40-12
A rejection from Mailman won't stop Spurs' search for another big man. Especially after a loss to Miami, before Heat even have a chance to tag team Zo with Shaq.

5 (5) Mavericks 33-16
The locals are clamoring for more from Finley, but Mavs couldn't have started the toughest part of their schedule much better, winning at Sacto and Seattle. Could they, Dallasites?

6 (7) Rockets 31-21
It's a good thing Rockets are so hot -- 15-4 since Jan. 7 -- because our research staff says they have the NBA's toughest remaining schedule based on opponent winning percentage.

7 (9) Pistons 30-19
Looks like they're getting serious again, and maybe this time they'll stay serious and stay on this sudden 50-win pace.

8 (6) Kings 33-18
Sunday's win at Boston was a nice way to cap a challenging week, after losses to Suns, Sonics and Mavs. Kings are now 3-5 since Adelman's contract was extended.

9 (8) Grizzlies 30-22
Czar Fratello is doing just fine, even with Gasol possibly out past the All-Star break, so don't be surprised to see his lead assistant Musselman surface as a possible Wolves candidate.

10 (11) Wizards 30-20
More kudos bound for the nation's capital: Wiz lead the league with 13 victories this season when trailing after three quarters.

11 (10) Cavaliers 29-20
For some reason, we miss the mask. But it doesn't really matter to LeBron, who's been deadly lately under any circumstances: 27.8 ppg and 9.6 apg in his last nine games.

12 (13) Bulls 24-23
Bulls already have two surprise Ws in a killer month. But they can't celebrate yet, still facing eight of the next 13 games on the road. ( :D )

13 (12) Magic 27-24
The honeymoon might be ending. Stevie New Franchise criticized his teammates, GM Weisbrod challenged his coach and Howard slipped behind Gordon in the ROY race.

14 (18) Nets 22-29
As if Vince's renaissance and a 10-5 uptick doesn't have everyone else in the Atlantic worried, Jefferson is vowing to come back for the playoffs, like Terrell Owens did.

15 (17) Celtics 26-26
With the exile of I Love Wal-tuh (we feel for you, Tommy), Ainge has now changed almost the entire roster. Pierce and Blount are the only holdovers from the last regime.

16 (19) 76ers 25-26
We picked Boston to win the division and we're not changing that pick. But how can you not pick AI to win the scoring title?
Heat at #3? Spurs at #4?

You can be dirty without injuring someone. That could be due to you being lousy at injuring someone, or the other player being alert enough or lucky enough to avoid harm. Doesn't change the fact that Bowen's tatics are shit.

And yeah, this weekend was a great showing for his all defensive team chances...getting 71 points dropped on your head in two games is one hell of a statement. :lol Of course he'll be on one of the two teams anyway, since people who vote for such things rarely watch tape.

Who said he can stop anyone on any given night? He is not Superman. Afterall, he goes against the most talented offensive players in the league almost every game. It's unreal to think he can always stop them. Yet he is the most consistent at slowing them down or shutting them down.

I'm sorry, call me a homer, a fanboy, anything you want, but all I see is Bruce jumping trying to put a hand on Carter's face, then both land at almost the exact time and get their legs tangled up. And Bowen whipping his left leg towards Carter? Please, now you're just trying to look for things that are not there just to bash Bruce. He's probably trying to not hit him with that movement, trying to go over him without touching him. Plus look how unbalanced Carter shot was and how he completely extends his feet toward Bruce. You think that' doesn't play a part in them getting tangled up? This continues to be extremely overblowned.

Don't even bother anymore with me, because you're just going to get even more pissed off at what I think, because I don't see any intention to hurt VC there.

Bati is reaching FMT/Konex/TheDuce22 levels now. :lol

Those Rockets beatings have taken a toll on him ;)

Please, just tell me how what I said is wrong? Look at Carter extending his legs toward Bruce. He is actually the first one of the two to make contact because of how much he stretched his leg in that shot. I know it is because he took an unbalanced jumper, but he still did it, provoking even more contact. Or is there a rule that says the O player can kick all he wants while making a shot, while a D player has to keep his legs completely straight while contesting one? This complain against Bruce is BS.

Ya thas all wrong. Spurs are still 1 (despite their loss to Miami), Suns 2, Miami 3, Seattle 4. I don't understand how you can put the Sonics above BOTH the Spurs and the Heat. Time for Marc Stein to take up professional jack-assism. OH wait, he already did that a while ago.

Seiriously, why does Stein do the power rankings, I don't respect that man's basketball knowledge one bit. Ric Buchers's da man.

Yeah, Bucher > Stein. Stein is weird -- sometimes he's dead on and other times he's on crack.

My top 5 would be:

1. Spurs
2. Suns
3. Sonics
4. Mavs
5. Heat

Mavs have beat the Heat in both games and the Heat definitely have an easier schedule, so I can't put them ahead of Dallas. Yeah, they beat the Spurs, so what does that make them against the West's elite, 2-6?

how many games do you think the Bulls have to win to make the playoffs in the East...I'm guessing like 38 would be enough? Am I horridly under, are we talkin like 42 or so? I doubt you need more than 40 wins to grab the 8th or even 7th seed at this point...

I don't understand how you can put the Sonics above BOTH the Spurs and the Heat

Maybe cos the Sonics are 4-1 against them and were on a bit of a roll till last night's choke job to Dallas?

My top 5 would look like this:

Sonics
Spurs (struggled with the Nets till the refs tossed Carter. Played like crap vs. the Heat)
Suns
Heat
Mavs (they are 2-0 vs the Heat but have lost to some bad teams)

Oddly enough, over half of their loses have come from the same teams. So that plus the 2 head-to-head games = Mavs > Heat. :D

The rankings are mostly representative of the last week, so if there are some losses, like the ones the Spurs had, there's always going to be some shuffling in the top of the rankings.

The Spurs lost without TD against Washington and against the Heat, on their fourth road game on six nights with a banged up TD, so it's not all that bad.

Mavs have had more "bad" losses recently. Chicago at home? Come on :p

Ouch! Hit me where it hurts, why don't you?! :P OK, I'll concede. Since you love for Shaq cannot be stopped...

4. Shaq
5. Mavs

:D

Alright, looking at that Bowen animation, I think you could at least argue that it's POSSIBLE he wasn't trying to hurt Vince. He may have been trying to do what he usually does after a jumpshot (back up on the player so he can't get the rebound), but because of the nature of Vince's shot, his leg got caught up. The rest was just Bowen himself trying not to fall down. I'll bet in regular speed that play looks a lot less dirty.

Michael Jackson does not = MJ. ESPECIALLY in this thread. Let's just clear that up.

Ask his rump-buddy, Mobley.

I’m not proud, I was wrong
And the truth is hard to take
I felt sure we had enough
But our love went overboard
Lifeboat lies lost at sea
I’ve been trying to reach your shore
Waves of doubt keep drowning me

All the dreams that we were building
We never fulfilled them
Could be better, should be better
For lessons in love

All the homes that we were building
We never lived in
Could be better, should be better
Lessons in love

Tough loss against a great team like Miami. The lack of bench contribution really hurted the Spurs.

A Finals between these two teams would probably be the best since the Jazz/Bulls days.

Whoa there, be careful with the glowing adjectives. The Heat are hardly a great team. Their just a decent team with a couple of good players getting fat off the pathetically weak eastern conference. If they played in the west, they would probably rank no higher than 5th or 6th. Hardly what I would call great.

The Spurs are the only "great" team in the league right now. They are followed by the very good, and deserving of respect, Sacremento Kings. The Sonics and Suns are strong up and comers, but they have yet to prove they are for real. Great teams are not made over night. To become great, you must prove yourself multiple times in the playoffs, usually over a period of at least a couple of years.

Comparing the current Heat to those Jazz and Bulls teams is laughable. Either one of those teams would have swept this Miami team in a seven game series. If the Spurs somehow meet up with them in the finals, I would expect them to do the same.

Pistons ripping into the Bucks at the moment. McDyess was ejected for 2 T's within like a minute. Refs made some horrible calls.

Arroyo added a lot of depth to the Pistons bench. Pistons started the season out of shape in the starters and weak in the bench. But adding Arroyo, and if Delfino gets healthy... they will be a force. McDyess, Hunter, Arroyo, Delfino... that is an insane bench. Dupree is good too but needs some time. He hustles like no other.

Miami preys on the poor teams. 2 teams in their div has less than 11 wins, pathetic. Of course they are going to be undefeated in their div. 11 easy wins.

Wow, Mr. Max Contract, Zach Randolph gets a DNP:CD tonight while Joelzilla scores 19 and picks up 17 rebounds. The Blazers really messed up when they signed in long term with that kid.

I can't wait until the day Konex ditches Kobe and joins the T-Mac express with DM. I swear all of the Lakers problems started when Konex joined the Lakers bandwagon and became president of the Kobe fanclub.

Sorry T-Mac, but you are next on the list. Lakers will not make the playoffs this year and Konex will abandon ship, he will then latch on to the next flashiest guard (T-Mac) and start playing EA games. This will allow the Lakers to rebound in time for next season and signal the end of EA dominance. :D

The Lakers will make the playoffs and beat any team except the Spurs or Sonics in the first round (they have several bigs)....

yeah, 40 wins is looking like a lock. hopefully we can move up to the 6th seed(1 game behind Orlando for that right now) so we can play the first round at home against the bad Sixers/Celtics/whoever wins that miserable division. I'd hate for it to be the Nets though....they own us this year somehow.

Fuckin' Amare. Holy Shit.

Suns get vengeance, dropping 135 on the Jazz. (and not playing any D in the 4th sitting on a big lead :lol).

Holy fucking shit. 136-126. The Jazz scored 126!

David Stern should send a memo to every coach and GM, forcing them all to play like the Suns. I would have loved to see that game. Every game can be like the all star game. :lol :lol

Suns lose if AK didn't go down....again. They've been playing down to the competition lately. At least the Jazz should be tired for tomorrow :)

Seriously man. Suns are the most entertaining team the NBA has seen in a long time, bar none. Better than the All-Star game, since they are doing it in games that actually mean something.
