Hehe. I don't care much for Seattle, but I'd like to see them tank just a bit so the Rockets can finally pass them up...and Incognito can pay up his end of the bet.

Well that ain't going to happen... Sea-Town is coming up!

The Spurs are crap w/o TD. Why is this guy rarely mentioned for MVP? Ginobili, the alleged Allstar isn't doing anything and they are getting man-handled so far....by the Nets!

edit: TD is playing? :lol

you must feel pretty bad now that the game is over

DAMNIT. That was some shit right there.

I was in utter disbelief. You could see the ball hit glass for the fucking upper deck where I was sitting, this wasn't like the suns game where it was a tough call even with instant replay slow-mo. that shit was obvious .

It wouldn't hurt so bad if it wasn't goaltending, and it wasn't the third tight loss in good games in a row.

Wow, an Allstar/WC Finals coach from last year gets canned this year with the same lineup. If this isn't proof that players make or break you, I dunno what is :lol

I hope the Lakers take a look at him...

Apparently Flip is being reassigned to a different position within the organization. Flip was a good coach. To bad almost every single player besides KG didnt put out the effort that is needed to win.

Bryant practices, could play Sunday
Kobe on court for first time in four days, feels 75 percent
The Associated Press
Updated: 5:51 p.m. ET Feb. 12, 2005

CLEVELAND - Kobe Bryant practiced Saturday for the first time in four days, and could play for the Los Angeles Lakers against Cleveland on Sunday.

advertisement
Bryant participated in the whole practice and moved “pretty well” on his severely sprained right ankle, Lakers spokesman John Black said.

Bryant told team officials he was about 75 percent.

“The key will be whether it swells up or how sore it gets overnight,” Black said.

Bryant will be a game-time decision for Sunday’s game, Black said.

The NBA’s second-leading scorer with a 27.5 average, Bryant injured his ankle in the first quarter of a 98-94 victory over Cleveland on Jan. 13. He has missed 14 games.

Bryant worked out hard with the Lakers on Tuesday, but said he was sore Wednesday.

The Lakers have lost four of their last five games.

Finally!!!!!

I literally cannot believe what I just saw. The refs literally gave this game to Dallas. I am sitting here totally speechless! If I was Mark Cuban I would DEFINITELY approach David Stern over this incident and attempt to have that call overturned.

Seriously....I'm at a loss for words at how the people in this arena have allowed the refs to get away with this BLATANTLY false call. It was CLEARLY goal tending!!!!!!! How good anyone not see this???????????

*stunned*

They trying to make up for that no call against the Spurs when Tim Duncan goaltended?

Whoa! Iverson has 58 with over a minute to go!

58 points, 6 assists, 5 steals and only 2 TO's. :O

Shortest guy ever to hit 60? I think it'll happen. :D

Well whatever it is, they deserve to be drawn and quarted. That to this day remains the most fucked up call in the history of sports. I honestly cannot understand how Sactown, an avid Kings fan, was able to remain to calm last night. YOUR TEAM GOT FUCKED IN THE ASS BY THE REFS WITH NO VASELINE DUDE!

And no, I don't really care for the kings, or any other particular basketball team atm. I just watch the occasional game and hope it's entertaining. But that shit last night was beyond disgusting and shameful.

Fuck you David Stern for hiring the shittiest referrees in professional sports history!

Bryant Might Return Today

By Mike Bresnahan, Times Staff Writer

CLEVELAND — Kobe Bryant was supposed to run through a few drills and call it a day.

Ninety minutes later, after completing a full practice, he described his sprained right ankle as being 75% full strength and added a final surprise by saying he might play today against the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Bryant said he was still pretty limited, but his presence could add scoring and defensive punch to the Lakers, who are 6-8 in games Bryant has sat out since he landed on the foot of Cleveland guard Ira Newble on Jan. 13.

Caron Butler said Bryant did some "spectacular things" Saturday at practice, and Lamar Odom predicted Bryant would play today, but Bryant said it would depend how he felt this morning when he rolled out of bed.

"If there's pain, I won't go," Bryant said.

Bryant, the league's second-leading scorer at 27.5 points a game, was not expected to play on the current five-game trip, which ends today.

"It's a miraculous world we live in," Laker spokesman John Black said. "There may even be hockey again some day."

In Bryant's absence, the Lakers have had trouble implementing their version of the triangle offense, and their defense has suffered despite playing 10 of 14 games against teams with losing records. Against teams with winning records, they have gone 0-4 without Bryant.

At the same time, there is intrigue as to how Bryant's return will change the roles of Odom and guard Chucky Atkins, who increased their production in Bryant's absence.

"Any time you add a better player to your team you're not supposed to get worse," Odom said. "Whatever adjustments we have to make, so be it."

Odom, averaging 18.2 points while Bryant has been sidelined, said he would continue taking the ball to the basket the same way he has done in recent weeks.

"That's what I have to do," Odom said. "With Kobe coming back, none of us should slack off as far as being aggressive on offense."

Atkins has averaged 18.6 points in Bryant's absence.

YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Flip gets the boot... And Miller retires... I am going to miss that guy... I know he is past his prime. but there are just not players like him in the league now... So much heart...

Sources tell ESPN Insider Chad Ford that Weisbrod feels Francis hasn't been the same since the trade and might not be the guy to lead the team long term. He's been especially frustrated with how poorly the team is playing on defense.

:lol Three months ago Weisbrod was calling Francis a warrior. :lol Here's a tip Mr Ex-hockey guy...when the wheel is rolling smooth, don't try to fix it. Orlando was doing just fine until you decided to get Mr Whipped. Everyone in the world knows how close Francis and Mobley are, and you should've known that the trade would affect him at some level. And in affecting him, it's also affected the team.

(Malone) joined the Lakers in an attempt to win an elusive NBA championship, but failed to do so despite playing with Shaquille O'Neal and Kobe Bryant.

:lol I like how they rub it in. :lol

Bowen being such a dirty player wouldn't be half as annoying if we didn't have to hear spurs fans talking out their ass trying to convince people he's just "playing good D". No, Duncan plays good D, Bowen just plays dirty.

Heh, agreed...I like Batigol and he knows I like the Spurs, but I don't see how you can defend this punk ass bitch while breathing a sigh of relief because we didn't sign the dirty Karl Malone. :lol It's two sides of the same goddamn coin.

Here are some facts BTW...that was the first time Vince had been thrown out of ANY game in his ENTIRE basketball career. That's from high school all the way till now. For a guy that's a soft ass pussy, you don't think such a reaction at such a time isn't a bit unusual?

As others already pointed out, Bowen did the same damn thing to Vince last year...anyone with eyes saw that he slid his leg over. This happening not long after Tim Duncan had asked Ray Allen if Bowen really was considered dirty during the all star break. I'll admit Bowen disguised it a bit better this time around, but the attempt was still there. Only reason Vince didn't twist his ankle this time is because he was expecting it. :lol Oh, but I suppose Vince was trying to trip Bowen that time too, as Bruce's excuse was last night :lol...gimme a fucking break.

Also, you didn't see the head butt Bowen gave to Vince earlier in the game? I suppose Vince fell into Bowen that time. :lol

And as if we needed anymore proof of Bowen's dirty ass ways...

whatthehell.gif

Frankly I'd love to see Danny Fortson pile drive Bowen through the scorer's table. If the league isn't gonna handle this shit, might as well let a player do it. And believe me, even Fortson's enemies will give him props.

Just accept the fact that the man's a dirty player. You don't see Pistons fans denying that Laimbeer was a dirty motherfucker. They not only accept it, they're proud of it.

Hell, Laimbeer's proud of it. :lol

"I'm gonna git you sucka!!"

How could anyone compare Bowen to Malone is beyond me. It's fine if you think Bruce is dirty, but the two only real problems he has had to face during his whole career(at least with the Spurs) are against Vince, whom needs his mom to be defending him on the press from everyone. Meanwhile, Malone has knocked players unconscious, knocked their teeth off, elbowed and knee them multiple times and busted quite a few testicles. It's a completely different league. Plus Malone was always an asshole. Bruce is a class act off the court.

I can't know first hand if Bowen is dirty, because I don't know him. What I believe is that he plays extremely hard, physical defense(like few people do in the NBA), but does not intent to injure the opponents. He just isn't afraid of getting on someone's face, whoever it is. That's why I've never heard Kobe, one of the hardest competitor in the league, crying about Bowen's defense. In fact, he respects him because he makes him try two times as hard.

:lol :lol :lol :lol :lol Did you type that with a straight face?

Bowen has a rep around the league of being dirty. That doesn't come from one or two isolated incidents. Conversely, there's no talk of Artest being a dirty player, despite being a complete hot head. Why? Because he doesn't use dangerous tatics to defend during a game. He only pulls the dangerous tatics out during timeouts. :lol Really if you think Bowen is a clean player then that's okay, but don't ever whine about Malone...even he's held in higher esteem by players then Bowen.

BTW, last year Malone (who'd never gone down to an injury before) missed almost half the year after he landed on a guy who undercut him. That's how dangerous that manuever is, and Bowen's pulled it twice on a guy that (A) was lighting his ass up like a Christmas tree (and stuffing his ass on a play or two to boot, not bad for a guy who can't play D) and (B) have a long history that stems all the way back to his Miami days. And don't think for a moment the dislike is a one way street...neither one have any use for each other.

There's no harm in liking a team while admitting a player on that team is dirty as fuck. It doesn't mean you've betrayed the silver and black. :lol

Just tell me, other than Vince last year, who has Bruce injured during his career? Of course, Malone will go down in NBA history, while Bruce is merely remember. That doesn't change the fact that Malone had zero regard for fellow pro players integrity, as long as he got what he wanted.

And I don't have to admit anything, because I don't dislike Bruce. I love seeing him play D, because he works his butt off. If some softies around the league can't handle someone getting physical and challenging everyone of their moves, too bad. This incident will probably give Bruce more of a boost to make the 1st All-Defensive team.

are you mentally retarded? Bowen did the EXACT SAME UNDERCUTTING MOVE he did on VInce to Kobe earlier this year, and Kobe got up with that exact same "Im gonna fucking kill you you son of a bitch" look on his face that Vince had. And you know why? Because that shit is dangerous and risks guy's careers, and most players probably don't take kindly to some scrub using bullshit tactics to try and end their careers. Im sure Konex has a video of it somewhere if you want proof. So thats 3 players (Kobe, Vince, Ray allen, ALL elite type SGs) that Bowen has either tried to fuck over or have called him out for being dirty. Yeah, im sure his rep is all just a media fabrication.

Yah, it was the first game vs. the Spurs this year. Kobe goes up for a J and Bruce does that under-step and Kobe falls on the floor with no call. Dude gets up and fucking loses it but he was pointing and yelling at the ref (Viloet "I can't see shit" Palmer IIRC) not Bowen. If they won't call it, that guy will keep doing that bullshit!

Probably trying to crib some moves from Lebron. He watched all the Jordan tapes, so he had to find someone else who's better than he is to stea--err, "learn" from.

Kobe Bryant: "Incorporating" the best aspects of others' games into his own. :D

:lol Great stuff guys (as usual). I was watching that Cavs\Nuggets game and all I can say is Bill Walton really needs to tone down on the Lebron James BJ treatment. It reminds me of commentators worshipping at the alter of Brett Favre's nutsack in the NFL. Let this kid win something that MATTERS first and then praise him.

I like how D Wade is quietly doing his thing in Miami, even while in the shadow of Shaq. As for VC, I can totally understand his anger. Bowen seems to be on some Bill Laimbeer type shit lately. Bulls are hanging tough, but I won't jump on that bandwagon until they make the playoffs. Chicago fans get teased enough year in and out as it is.

I hope Kobe makes a full recovery, because as it stands now, it just looks like he's ducking and hiding behind his injury so as to not recieve any of the blame for the travesty that the Lakers have become. Come on son, this is what you wanted SOOO badly. Like Shaq said " be careful what you wish for buddy".

Lastly, NBA Street V3 is PURE HOTNESS on a disc. The cool part about not having MJ in it is that it forces you to get to know the other teams and players a little better. My team of choice is the Heat, followed by the Magic, Spurs, and Rockets (Respect the Yao bitch!! ... in the game anyway lol). Anyway, keep it up guys.

I believe these sort of pictures are forbidden by the TOS.

"Images of a sexual or profane nature are discouraged." I move for the Mods to delete this image under Paragraphy II, Section C of the TOS. To prevent further confusion, we should also just add Jordan to the list of prohibited images under the TOS.

And tonight my tag goes back to normal! Only another month until I can get rid of this unconscionable avatar. :D

I think I can finally start talking about sports again now that the bad taste of the Superbowl is almost gone. I was purposely avoiding ESPN and anything sports related so I didn't have to see that flaming asshole Tom Brady and the rest of those goons celebrating.
