I wish I could find the Google News article I saw earlier today about this, it was great. The title was something like "Hollywood Actor Dwayne Johnson makes appearance on WWE program"

I wonder if the Rock would have come back if Reigns didn't get injured.

Rusev vs Reigns would have been great.

But I guess The Rock is better now.

We had that match a few weeks ago. Rusev just jobbed to him as far as I remember.

All you people complaining about Rusev's schtik need to watch him wrestle. He is legit exciting

I think there was a DQ in there. Rusev is legit good. He actually made people care about Swagger, that should say something

My memory is playing tricks on me. Rakishi definitely trained him well. Most of the guys and gals coming for NXT look really good. It makes me hopeful for the future in WWE now that the era of Cena is coming to an end

Sure I have time to kill, are there any links online to his exciting matches?

His first ppv match with Big E was top notch. Was too quick and I hate Big E but was a perfect strongman match.

His first match with Swagger was good too other than the ending.

I FUCKING LOVE THE ROCK. I DON'T EVEN CARE ABOUT WRESTLING ANYMORE BUT I WILL WATCH THE FUCK OUT OF THE ROCK IN THE RING. FUCK YEAH ROCKY. I SMELL WHAT YOU'RE COOKING. YOU'RE THE MOST ELECTRIFYING MAN IN SPORTS ENTERTAINMENT, EVER.

Lol this is pretty much my reaction too

Haven't watched in years, but I will always tune in if the Rock is showing up. makes me feel just like you , lol.

Zeb made it possible. Nobody carries about Swagger without We The People catch phrase. He's just so boring. That's why when you get someone like Rock on that show, it just demoralizes how terrible the roster is in charisma.

Just watched. I wish I didn't know it was happening beforehand. But I marked out like a little bitch anyway. Every fucking time. I love this man.

Watching how much fun hr was having really shows off how humble he is and that he will always remember where he came from.

Great they kept that a secret even if its just a one off appearance.

Surprise Rock is best Rock.
I think that's one of the coolest things about this. In this day and age of EVERYTHING leaking to the internet days, even weeks before a live event or PPV, the fact that this came out of nowhere goes to show how serious the WWE as taking it. I'm surprised it didn't leak, people knew he was in NYC for the Baywatch remake news but this never on anyone's radar. Especially when you consider that normally people make surprise appearances to hype other events on their lives, dude had nothing going on to get people hyped for.

All that was missing was telling that dude to take that chain and stick it straight up his candy ass. Can he even say that anymore?
I don't think so, especially when you think about how seriously the WWE is trying to keep a G/PG appearance and be a "family" show. And notice how he called Rusev an "a-hole" and directly after that the crowd themselves started chanting ASSHOLE.

People can question pretty much anything Triple H does because a lot of his actions can be questionable at times, but there's no denying that for the most part he is doing a great job at signing people and developing some very big potential stars in NXT. He may not be the smartest guy business-wise but he definitely has an eye for recognizing future talent and potential superstar material.

Hopefully he wrestles again. Rock wrestling again along with the rumors that Stone Cold is coming back would make my watch again.
Wrestlemania 32, my friend.

Also, in case anyone is interested, for....educational purposes....Lana did a topless scene in the TV show Banshee, where she played a hooker having cocaine snorted off her chest.

I watch RAW every monday (because i'm a huge wrestling fan) but my Redskins were playing on MNF...Goddamnit. of course this would happen when i was not watching. Rewatched RAW the other day, this and Ambrose segments were the best part of the show.

Also that Derek Jeter chant was awesome and i'm not even a baseball fan

Gross. No thanks.

Just saw the video. Was kinda uncomfortable with the misogyny. Is Rock supposed to be a heel or a face?

Same. This along with watching the Smackdown 15th Anniversary clip show on the Network where I was reminded that ten years ago a tag team were heels only because they were gay reminds you how fucking behind the times wrestling tends to be.

I think he's supposed to be dated, because I felt the same as you. Like a guy from a different generation returning to remind us he's out of touch and lost a step.

Could we say that about pro wrestling in general? That it is a cultural relic from a different generation, steeped with passive (but inherent) misogyny, racism, and poor taste that feels somewhat out of sync with today's sensibilities?

Yeah, for sure. There's always the Divas division, with the name and how they really doll themselves up to fight (who fucking does that). I get bored of them trying to talk the division up like they're about strong women, but I can't remember a time a woman in the WWE has ever spoken up for women in general in any way other than generically copying sports with Pink October.

I'll never forget Triple H telling Booker T "people like you don't win these championships," and then Triple H fucking beat him at Wrestlemania. It was the most obvious "our first black champion ever overcomes racism with all the odds against him" storyline, and then Triple H won.
