Thanks.
This one seems to be tough to redesign (because Luffy is a rubber man I guess)

Trust me, I would much rather spend my time working on something nobody has done yet, especially since these things take me hours to do.

I'll make more, but if this happens again, I'm really done. I can spend time doing other things.
Anyway, I'm working on Gamer @ Heart's request Shinobi's Hotsuma Preferably holding a glowing sword.

Honestly, I think the way to do it to is to just be selfish and make things for yourself. It's important to realize that these avatars are pretty much disposable. Most people are going to use them until the next thing comes along and then they'll switch, and it's okay for them to switch. I know how it feels when you feel like you're forced to use something just because someone else made it, and I'd never want anyone to think like they have to use an avatar I made because it was made for them. At the end of the day I'm happy just being able to admire my own art.ICallItFutile said:I believe you, just annoyed snitch ditched mine after I did spend hours making it.

I was reading the first couple of pages, and am thinking paypal might be good if people want to donate to the artists who aren't getting paid. But I am also doing this for fun.:lol Just throwing it out there.Esperado said:Honestly, I think the way to do it to is to just be selfish and make things for yourself. Your efforts are appreciated and people should not claim more than one. Ban worthyICallItFutile said:I believe you, just mad snitch ditched mine after I did spend hours making it.

No you didn't.Dizzle24 said:Dude, I already claimed him early last week. :lol :lol :lol

You said you were going to use him until YOUR request was filled.
This is why temporary claims are stupid. Either stick with it or give it up.
P.S. I'm never giving up this Ludwig. ROCK IT, SON.Unless Divvy demands it. >_>
Yes, that should be perfect (it's 90 wide), and it looks so cute!Skiptastic said:Can someone confirm that this is within NeoGAF regulations? If it is, then I will put it in my avatar post haste!
Special thanks to Max for helping me out! It looks awesome! Fuck it, it looks fantastic. I may never go back to the old one!

I'm seeing this more often. Mainly from juniors but users need to research or at least ask around before taking an av.Dizzle24 said:Dude, I already claimed him early last week. :lol :lol :lol
BooJoh said:Really, a list of created, claimed, and in-use avatars would be beneficial all-around and prevent most of the grief here (impatience and backlog notwithstanding) but it would be a pretty daunting effort to put together and keep up-to-date.

Your avatar is intoxicating, hypnotizing, and frightening all at once.VAIL said:It's daunting because people started going out of turn, and creating "sets" that others randomly picked apart.
I appreciate any and all effort from the artists, but the fact that stuff started getting done out of turn really started a cascade of issues.
No one "has" to do this, and I'm glad they are getting props for doing so. I'll patiently sit and wait for mine to show up. I'd do it myself if I had the talent to do so.
TheOneGuy said:Your avatar is intoxicating, hypnotizing, and frightening all at once.
I think the vast majority of people understand that the artists ARE doing it for fun. It's the vocal minority, as always, that upsets things.
It would suck to have to wait weeks if you were one of the first to request something, but hey. I didn't mind the wait. I still got to see all the awesome stuff before mine. Besides, it's "just" a picture!
I'm claiming this one.jrricky said:

Dizzle24 said:Well if you want to get technical, I actually said that I was CLAIMING him until my original request was filled. So, technically it is claimed, by me. I will surrender him though, if my request is filled.
I even posted 2x just so the thread could reflect my choice.
kaizoku said:or someone decides to claim it permanently. either because they give up their request or they did not make the list.
that claim would trump your temporary claim and you should let it go.
That's not what he's saying. If you take Roger for keeps, your original request is wiped out and an artist doesn't needlessly spend hours on it. Nobody else gets it unless they request it once the list opens up for submissions again. If you don't make bunk temporary claims on unclaimed avatars, you just use a more generic avatar from the internet's hojillions of images for the time being. You don't need to go without.Dizzle24 said:So basically I lose either way.
I can give up my original request, keep this one, have my actual request filled and taken by someone else who just walked into the thread. Or give this one up, not have my original request filled and not have any avatar at all.
Is that what you are saying? :lol
Yeah, I think that would work best. That will help artists avoid lots of trouble in the future. Also on the note of donations, I would also decline it. I'm doing this for fun as well, and I'm slowly improving my skills, so that's enough payment for me.VAIL said:Maybe if the people working on them posted what they were working on it might help a bit.
