Maybe the OP can add these two links to the lists. I posted (back on page 12 lol) two larger images in case my small avatar would be difficult to create in the Scribblenaut style. I don't have the original image anymore. Many people have posted big images so I figured to do the same.

Honestly, I think the way to do it to is to just be selfish and make things for yourself. It's important to realize that these avatars are pretty much disposable. Most people are going to use them until the next thing comes along and then they'll switch, and it's okay for them to switch. I know how it feels when you feel like you're forced to use something just because someone else made it, and I'd never want anyone to think like they have to use an avatar I made because it was made for them. At the end of the day I'm happy just being able to admire my own art.

Yes, I thought small donations might be nice for the artists, not necessarily as a requirement, but there is a danger of competition and feelings getting hurt. And I guess it's a good reason for people to do requests or avatars in whatever order they feel like, since the people who requested may just ditch them. Some people won't, but there are probably always some who do.

That's not what he's saying. If you take Roger for keeps, your original request is wiped out and an artist doesn't needlessly spend hours on it. Nobody else gets it unless they request it once the list opens up for submissions again. If you don't make bunk temporary claims on unclaimed avatars, you just use a more generic avatar from the internet's hojillions of images for the time being. You don't need to go without.

If your original request is on the list, it will be filled. But it's selfish to take up two slots at once, one for hours of an artist time, and another occupying an avatar that could be used for keeps by another user.

Yeah, I think that would work best. That will help artists avoid lots of trouble in the future. Also on the note of donations, I would also decline it. I'm doing this for fun as well, and I'm slowly improving my skills, so that's enough payment for me.

I waited years to find something to do with this character, I couldn't find anything to do it with, to be awesome for an avatar, but as i found this thread, this Scribblenauts style is what I want my chosen character to be done and have it as avatar !
