Here in Erie, PA. GameCrazy won't have them till Friday(ish) and won't sell them till Tuesday.
TRU has them, but refuses to sell them till Tuesday. :(

Thanks for checking. I tried calling earlier but every time I pressed "3" the line went dead. I still might head over there to use the 20% coupon for Madden.
 
So is the game regionfree? Because then I'm gonna order from Play-asia. The game is pirated already, so someone out there should know.

It was confirmed a while ago (by Big Ken Levine himself on the Cult of Rapture forums) that the game is, in fact, region free, so order away!

Me: "Do you have Bioshock?"

Him: "Nope, but you can pre-order it"
*Reaches into a box full of LE Bioshock copies"
Him: "See look how cool it is-I'm taking one home for myself tonight"

Me: "Why can't you just sell me one those? You have atleast a dozen."

Him: "That isn't possible, it doesn't come out until the 21st"

Me: "But it's right there in your hand. Just scan that copy, give me the game, and take my money"

Him: "Your not making any sense. How would I do that?"

Me: "What?"

This goes on for 5 minutes until I eventually get bored and walk away. Fuck Game Stop!

Damn, 2 gaffers in this thread live in erie, including myself... scary. But anyways, sorry to break it to ya, but yeah, I was the only one to get a copy there.

When I went in around 1230 they had them on the shelf and the manager sold it to me without any questions. Send my buddy up there to do the same, and the manager tells him that corporate just sent him an email to not sell the game. Talk about the breaks.
 
Well I hit up every TRU and Gamestop in the area and they all claimed to not have it except for one. They had a copy of it sitting on the counter, and I asked him to sell it to me which he declined. Then I tried to bribe him with 10 pre-orders, and he almost went for it....

I came home empty handed. =(

They sold the last two from there around 11AM this morning. La Cienega TRU also sold out around the same time.
 
here's my sad tale...

i called the toys r us store yesterday thinking that i they would have copies and luck out like a few others on the board...they didn't though and the guy told me they usually get games AFTER the release date, except for games like madden. i was bummed but figured i would try back tomorrow

that brings us to today. i was out doing some errands and thought i would give them another try...i called at 11am (they opened at 10) and they had FOUR COPIES! i was so excited, i asked the woman to hold a copy but she said she couldn't because it was a hot seller. i drove fast and got there 20 minutes later

i power walked to the game section and was came face to face with a young male who turned out to be a prick. he wouldn't sell me a copy, said that corporate sent out an email to pull all of the copies due to the street date. i argued that a woman said i could buy one yada yada yada

i asked for the manager and told her how pissed i was that i drove all the way here for nothing. she didn't care and apologized just once. i stormed off telling her that her shitty store was going to close down because no one goes to toys r us anymore

i was pissed.

i never actually wanted this game until i tried out the demo, now i'm hooked and i must have the game. i'm crossing my fingers for an early release date but that looks highly improbable.

fuck you toys r us.
 
The kids that sold me my copy at TRU today almost seemed like they knew they shouldn't be selling it to me. There was kind of a don't ask, don't tell thing going on.

This is standard practice for every other media but videogames. New release music and movies are usually sitting in the stock room of stores for a week before their release date rolls around.

It was a dick move of them to have copies sitting in plain sight and for the guy to hold one up to taunt you with, of course.

The new Casino agrees. Anyways, a local store might have a copy. Can't remember the name of the store but it is located next to Payless Shoes on Buffalo Road. They might have run in early today and bought some copies from Toys R Us. I wouldn't bet on it since they buy their games from GameStop but it is worth a shot.
 
Circuit City would have sold me a copy had they gotten the game in stock... but they apparently had none.

TRU just told me to wait till the 21st... Gamestop laughed at my face saying if I had $10,000, I could buy one... and Best Buy and Target both just said... not till the 21st.

My only hope is Circuit City.

I'm in Vegas for the summer -- and I called 3 Toys R' US, they are not selling the game till next-week.

Also, all of them seem to know what I was asking before I asked the moment I said "could I get transfered to your game department please."

FUCK.
 
Visited my local GS to pick up my Persona 3 and got to hold the CE in my hands (I have my preorder there). Man is it awesome. It is the boxset already shown with the big daddy in the window. Damn it was sweet but I my heart sank when I had to give it back. Argh, the 21st can't come quick enough. FUCK STUPID RELEASE DATE CONCEPTS FOR GAMES!

In Australia that equates to a $60AUD purchase instead of a $120AUD purchase. Yes, Play-Asia is your friend down here.
