I usually don't buy LE's, but this one is quite convincing. The Big Daddy figurine (which will make a nice desktop piece) and the music (I actually like the oldies-type music) sell it for me. I'm not buying any other LE's like Halo 3 this year though. They just don't have enough material to justify the price.

The BioShock installer will automatically patch to the latest version of the BioShock game application as part of the install process. YOU MUST BE CONNECTED TO THE INTERNET IN ORDER TO INSTALL THE GAME.

A progress bar will show the state of the patch download. Please do not interrupt the download or deactivate your internet connection during the download. If the download does not complete successfully, you can attempt to restart the download using the Start/Restart button.

The downloader uses internet proxy and port settings as set up through Internet Explorer. If you have not set these, you can manually configure proxy and port settings in the BioShock installer. If you're not sure what values to put here, contact your ISP or 2K support at http://www.2kgames.com/bioshock/support/.

Some internet security software may detect this download as a Trojan or other compromisation of internet security.

Its an interactive program that gets you to calibrate your tv set or monitor and the sound for it. By interactive it means that sgt. Johnson is on screen and talks you through the whole thing.

Edit: both the collectors and legendary boxes get it.

It recently came to 2K Games’ attention that one of our retail partners prematurely sold some copies of BioShock prior to the game's official launch date. We got 8 360 CE's in today, 7 are reserved. Also we were only shipped 1 PC CE. I'm sure we'll get a few more CE's for each sku by the end of the week but it wont be much.

SNUG: At my local Gamestop, they were only sent six CE versions (though, there are 5 Gamestops within 5 miles, so I'm sure the total number of CE pre-orders is high). They didn't get any PC versions which bummed-out one of the associates. She's a PC gamer and was hoping not to have to go to Best Buy.

The cover on the dvd case inside is the same as the outside front of the CE's box (i.e. the simple Bioshock logo, not the cover of the regular edition). The Big Daddy is nice and heavy and very detailed. This is easily worth the extra $10 people, order it now before it's too late!

Just got back from the local Gamestop, where two Limited Editions were sitting on the shelf, teasing me ever so brutally. The clerk tried to tell me they were just "display" boxes and that they've had them for weeks. When I pointed at the Xbox Holoseal of Awesome on the bottom, he grinned and said, "I know, I know. We then got to talking about the story, cued by his question, "Do you know the story," I started talking about failed utopias and objectivism, etc. He then stopped me and said, "Yeah, but it's mostly about zombies infected by plasma." I asked him to explain, which he did, in great detail.

The new Casino agrees. Anyways, a local store might have a copy. Can't remember the name of the store but it is located next to Payless Shoes on Buffalo Road. They might have run in early today and bought some copies from Toys R Us. I wouldn't bet on it since they buy their games from GameStop but it is worth a shot.
