You’re overestimating availability. Only a couple people are finding copies, and I think it’s safe to say every TRU in the country has been called by now.

Exactly. I'm in Arizona, and the only ones getting copies early are in Florida and a couple other places in the southeast. I called all the locals Toys R Us stores and they're all aware of the street date, so.....

Your point?? $133 - $60 = $73. You gain nothing from having it early its the same gameplay experience.... Anywayz enjoy your game, please dont tell us how it is. If I could get the LE early I would bite for a little over normal price but I have not even searched because I know i cant get LE.

GOD YOU FAIL!!! Dozens of other people have finished Bioshock and that isn't hurting any of us, you just wasted money that could have gone to a new game, the impatience of some people just fails, I hope UPS or whoever the hell loses your package.

Like I said originally, college starts Monday for me, so having the game four days early is a godsend. Plus, my brother threw down $40 of it, so I'm only out about $30.
 
So. Anyway. I went to my local TRU to go ahead and do the 18 dollar Madden deal (aka return the game I purchase to Gamespot, also known as Forza for 60 dollars credit towards Rock Band) and I asked about Bioshock. Apparently, SHITTONS of people have been calling about it. Not one or two. I was probably those one or two. But like, for hours people have been calling about it. I'm kinda surprised. Now. Do I keep Madden or Forza? Me thinks Madden.

This is great for bioshock in general though. I think this game will sell tons.

Keep Forza... its a terrific title.

And the guy I talked to at TRU was totally a gamer and couldn't stop talking about the demo they released on Sunday. I was hoping I was going to talk to some girl who knew nothing but instead I got some GAFFer most likely, who was smart enough to know the street date.

well supposedly there are no real release dates anymore right? just ship dates? so whenever the games get in they should be available to sell.

Cross the Salem and Tigard stores off the list. Those TRUs have nothing, have heard nothing, etc.

Still, the knowing the awesomeness that is the LE will assuage my longing... I hope. That and I finally found a new copy of Viva Pinata.

Edit: Oh, and KK's right; keep Forza. Awesome game. Just a fantastic racing sim.

I'm lucky, at my local TRU there's a moron there. But that's where my luck ran out. He got off the phone to go check and then he said they didn't have any. Since he's not that smart (I remember him from the PS3 launch, and yeah, he's not all there) I can believe that they actually don't have any. I'm going to physically go check the store tomorrow though, just in case.
 
It appears that BioShock has changed it's release date to today. There has no been any official conformation from Microsoft or Take Two and neither of their PR agencies are available for contact. However, many things are proving that this is true.

1. Toys R' Us in the United States has been selling copies today
2. The commercial now says "Available Now" and this has changed from when I saw the commercial 2 hours ago
3. The game is driving the hype train after the demo and it would be smart to release today
4. Ken from 2K has confirmed it (conflicting, may be false) // it matches with the commercials I've seen though

I am personally trying to contact every gaming related person that would have knowledge on what's exactly happening. But chances are we will get a press release later tonight or early Wednesday morning.

In Canada, these commercials can be easily spotted from the earlier ones because they also advertise the 360 price cut after the commercial. [I'll try to tape it next time around]

UPDATE: I have just gotten somewhat official information that the game will be sold through every store as of now that already has stock of the game and they will be shipping the game rapidly to all stores. They have advised that there will be alot of confusion among retailers and that due to these issues, you may not be able to get your copy until things have been cleared up.

I checked Amazon, Best Buy, Circuit City, Best Buy Canada, FutureShop and Walmart online stores and all dates are still indicating 08/21/07. I would guess this will be mixed by the morning. I can confirm for a fact that the "Available Now" commercials are real since I have seen them with my own eyes.

More Information as I get it! // Btw, I still haven't seen another commercial and it's around 12:33AM in Toronto. Hopefully one comes soon.

That Gavin dude is going to be bummed if this rings to be true, though. We'll be playing it tomorrow while he has to wait until Thursday.
