I watched the little S6 teaser again tonight, goddaaaaaammmmmnnnn. Broke my heart. So can't wait for Tuesday, seriously.

The featurette on the S5 finale was amazing, if just to see that Walton Goggins is completely whacked out of his gourd.

Absolutely cannot ****ing wait for the new season to begin.

Gonna prepare a monster meal, and get entrapped in the world of Vic Mackey.

The internets gonna slowdown bigtime with the amount of refreshing im gonna be doing on the torrent sites :D

Season 5 was amazing, it's gonna be hard to top it.

I just hope they don't save everything for season 7 (final one). After such a long wait it'd kinda suck if nothing huge (Vic finding out the killer) happened until the finale.

BTW there's been about 15-20 reviews (newspaper) so far on The Shield season 6's first 6 episodes. All reviews have been EXTREMELY positive, saying it's The Shield's best season yet.

He just played a very creepy serial killer on CSI. Looks like he has been typecast. ;)

Caaan't wait. Season 4 was such a wash, but they made it all up with the awesome that was Season 5.

Someone's gonna get their face toasted. I can feel it. I can smell it, can you?

Feels like Christmas...making us wait this long was criminal.

No, what's criminal is making us wait over a year for a new episode after last season's finale, then making the follow-up season only 10 episodes long.

And who knows how long of a wait it's going to be until the last season...

I'm going to be a few weeks late to season 6. I started watching the Shield on dvd couple of weeks ago. I'm really loving it. I'm gonna finish season 3 by this week and should be done with season 4 next week. Hopefully the status of season 5 on netflix changes back to available now so I can hurry up and catch up with everything.

Is there a place to see the S6 prequel anymore? It's off BudTV and I could not find it on youtube either.

I am not buying the DVDs. :P

EDIT: NVM, looks like it is on the official site.

Whoa whoa whoa. What is this about a season 7? I could have sworn that Season 5/6 were the last as they were originally supposed to be a long last season like the Sopranos, but were split into separate seasons resulting in 2 short seasons and essentially wrapped up the series. Can someone point me to anywhere where people are suggesting there is a 7th season?

This is hands-down my favorite show on television.
Completely agree. This show got so screwed by being on FX. If it had been on HBO, or any cable network that people actually watch, it would be the most popular primetime drama on TV.

This show is criminally underappreciated.

I have the biggest TV boner right now. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH.

What you talking about? The Shield gathers 3.5 million viewers ish which is extremely strong numbers for cable tv. and FX is big, biggest cable network next to HBO... Rescue Me, Dirt, The Riches, Nip/Tuck and Shield all bring in big ratings. Similiarly, on broadcast TV this show simply wouldn't work.

Anyways, its 10PM.
So it begins.

Awesome awesome episode.

this direct tv commercial is pissing me off, they've showed it like twenty times already.

SWEET MONKEYLOVING CHRIST!!!!!!!!!!!!

This show is ridiculously good. Best ever. BEST EVER.

Vic dove through a skylight
... and then it just got better from there.

King's back.

Edit: The lack of responses in this thread is disappointing. Always.

Nobody really watches any of those shows. The Shield is moderately successful, but nowhere in line with how good it is. I mean compared to stuff like 24, CSI, Lost, Heroes, and even the Sopranos which all bring in 10-20 million an episode. It's just a shame that The Shield is so much better than all of those and yet relatively few get to see it.

Problem is outside of premium cable channels like HBO nothing really brings in huge ratings. Obviously I don't expect The Shield to do network TV numbers, but it should be doing better than The Sopranos which is nowhere near as good but nets almost 10 million viewers every single episode.

Well to be honest, if there was ever any kind of exception to the rule in that case it would be The Sopranos. I'm not prepared to bust out any kind of stats or anything, but I know a show getting those kinds of numbers on premium cable is a pure anomoly.

That was an amazing premiere.

It literally washed away all the sins created by that unbelievably horrendous Prison Break S02 Finale. PB has always been a jump the shark show, but I think they just redefined the term.

I think casting Forrest Whitaker was the greatest decision the show made since casting Chiklis as Mackey.
