The silliest names in games

Cofagrigus.

I have NO CLUE what TPCI, or whoever decides upon the dub names, was thinking. I mean, it's a mummy Pokemon, it shouldn't be that hard to come up with a simple pun for that. The Japanese name is the pretty cool デスカーン, usually romanticized as Deathkan meaning "death coffin".

But no, we get COFAGRIGUS, a name so bad it even originally set off the censor and couldn't be traded online! I guess the pun is "coffin" plus "egregious" as people speculate, and should be pronounced sort of like "sarcophagus", but it's clunky as fuck and there's no way someone can look at this name and think, yes, that's what we'll name a creature in a series with mass market appeal.

Stahl. Come on. Especially in the german version of Fire Emblem Awakening. I mean, he is literally just called "Steel".

From the No More Heroes series:

Travis Touchdown
Henry Cooldown
Helter Skelter and his brother in the sequel Skelter Helter
Speed Buster
Letz Shake
Dr. Letz Shake

Million Gunman is a rich bank president whose guns shoot bullets that are rolled up dollar bills.

Many Xenoblade Chronicles “unique monsters” have ridiculous names like:
Flabbergasted Jerome
Immovable Gonzalez
Despotic Arsene
Indomitable Daulton
Prudent Purson
Veteran Yozel
Officer Robusto
Proper Bandaz
Vague Barbas
Unreliable Rezno
Splendid Botis
Mild Florence
Infernal Crocell

Anything in Destiny.
(Pretentious Word) of (Pretentious Word)
Sword of Crota
Shrine of Oryx
Vault of Glass
Trials of Osiris
And so on and so forth.

Phoenix Wright has never been subtle with names but this guy gets in one car accident and they call him Carmine Accidenti

And then there's Deid Mann. Try to guess what his role is in the murder mystery.

Master Chief is dumb, because it's just a rank of the Navy. It's like just naming the protagonist of Call of Duty "Sergeant Major".
No, it's like if the protagonist of Call of Duty had been so prominent in a role where he was constantly referred to as "Sergeant Major" that he began to be referred to in-universe as "the Sergeant Major" as a sort of unique honorific.

The character from Halo is named John.

Xenoblade

A lot of these sounded like some name-in-game contest I never knew about.
Anyways, I always found 'Immovable Gonzalez' pretty memorable.

'Offensive/HONEY' is great too.
