This is actually sorta what happened to me. I've known of Spoony but never really followed him or watched his work (I tried some of his older stuff and I just always thought he came off as very condescending) , and after hearing about his meltdown I decided to scope this thread. To be honest, I just sort of find this thing fascinating in some way. I can't quite put my finger on why it does, but it just does. I guess similar to how you find enjoyment reading about this sort of thing. Guess I'm kind of like that.
It's more the so and so is neutroic, ego-driven, or crazy becuase of videos on that TGWTG. It's a very hit or miss site because so many people on that site try different things, I'll give you that but I don't see how that's evidence to go into that much speculation about people
Well, like I said, I think that's weird too when people do that.

Nearly every member of my immediate family is bipolar, depressive, addictive, or, with the newest generation, autistic. I vote "no, it doesn't excuse his actions". But it also doesn't excuse the actions of his "friends". Jesus, that must be one mean misery factory they're running. I actually like Angry Joe (particularly the Corporate Commander character), but I'll be damned if I'll ever go any deeper into the rabbit hole.

No, no we don't. Seriously though, he's a good example of why I find so many reviewers to be problematic. Their acting skills are just too limited to pull of the kind of performance they seem to be going for, and spoil what could have been decent reviews if they had just played it straight. Phelous isn't bad when he's not chewing the scenery. EDIT: I have to wonder, does the seemingly self congratulatory atmosphere and lack of critical assessment at TGWTG contribute to this problem? Why dial it down a notch if everyone says you're great?
That's probably not helping I'm guessing.

Well that's just ignorant, because he's a hardcore PC player with all the strategy games.
That's just his voice maybe? He seems that way sometimes, I don't watch most of his reviews cause I don't like horror movies.
He's really smart on the material he reviews though, he knows a bunch about the Resident Evil and Mortal Kombat movies.

Technically, I guess your right, but it sounds like he was about to be fired, but they let him leave so it wouldn't cause a stir, which seems like the smartest thing to do. I'm guessing this is it though as far as Spoony being a TGWTG member, but who knows?
He has tweeted that he's expressed interest in making peace with them, but it will be a long while before it happens.
Who knows, maybe Doug can have a good talk with him at ConBravo. He's said to be an ultra-nice guy.
Making "peace" and joining back up are two different matters though. Then again, if TGWTG's revenue stream is down, losing Spoony is likely a big hit to them, as he is likely one of their best, even though his video making was sparse recently.

Oh wow.so they just asked him to not insulting and harassing fellow contributors and site fans on twitter and he rage quit, because he is too mighty for basic rules.
TGWTG fired ThatAussieGuy after he told Lindsay (Nchick) that he want her to suck his cock, they didn't give that worthless waste of space a 2nd chance or just ban him for a month first, they went very easy on Spoony but he is too stupid to realize that.
Spoony was one of the biggest guys on their site. He probably got them a lot of traffic so I doubt they wanted fire him for dumb shit on Twitter.
This. Even if he barely uploaded material (just his actual reviews, no vlogs and I think only one Counter Monkey), he still brought in viewers.
Aussie Guy (Daniel Rizzo) was not a big draw, and he almost never uploaded material. Last thing I remember him making before his termination was the "Top 10 Best-Selling Games on the SNES in Australia". It was literally the list of the best-selling games, no opinion, no thought.
Here's what's really dumb, Rizzo is still bitter to this day. He would confide in notable critics of TGWTG (one of whom lied by saying they stole from charity) and attempt to expose the site. It never worked.

I watched his Final Fantasy X-2 review before, I'd never got round to it, and whilst it had its moments the Final Fantasy X/X-2 fan in me got really irritated when he completely failed to understand the plots of both games. I never found it to be particularly perplexing, but it was quite amusing to see him go off on these rants based off his complete lack of understanding of the games. I just get the sense that the game or movie really is secondary these days to his review process.
That said, I really enjoyed his Ultima retrospective, this coming from someone who never played any of the Ultima games growing up, and whose knowledge of the series wouldn't fill the back of a postage stamp. He did an excellent job in communicating his passion for the games and it left me with a better understanding of a series that had passed me by.

It doesn't matter how much of a big roller he is, they had to set some kind of line when he started bringing tension between his co-workers and himself. Plus, this actually isn't the first time Spoony has gotten into it with a That Guy coworker; he got into a bit of a tiff over one of the owners of Channel Awesome because of unprofessional behavior about a month or two back on twitter before. Moreover, they gave him a 4 month suspension as an act of leniency, but that only provoked him to explode even more. If he was willing to disregard basic disciplinary procedures even for saying dumb stuff on twitter, why keep him around?
But even disregarding all of that, one of Spoony's own posts complained of him getting "fired", which kinda raises the question of whether both Spoony and the higher ups just viewed the situation of him leaving entirely differently.

I agree, telling someone to kill themselves like that is never okay. I'm just saying that when you know someone has mental problems, then it really, really is fucked up.
I'm not sure about B2, I just remember someone saying that he had it, and I saw him tweet that he had it.
Pretty sure the Bipolar thing was posted on Twitter sometime after LordKat's rant. But, yeah, either way, telling people to kill themselves? Not cool.
They'll probably settle their differences by getting together for a little filming and Adobe After Effects'ing some fireballs and shit onto each other.

What I found more despicable was the derisive implication made towards Miles and using his gun after what happened with that.

Here's a trailer for The Cinema Snob Movie, which Spoony seems to have a huge part in, and is rocking a pony-tail.
