Okay so there was the teardown of the Switch done which lists all the parts in the Switch (which somewhat mysteriously also contains additional motion sensors like in the Switch patents, but is something we haven't heard anything from Nintendo about), Joycon, and dock.
One thing that stood out to me was the mention of wireless charging in the main PCB.
My understanding is that the dock charges through the USB-C but placing the Switch console on my wireless charging pad gets it to at least turn on as if it detects a wireless charging unit, but it blinks as if it's not able to charge and the Switch itself doesn't say it's charging.
I also tried moving the Switch all around to see if there was a way to make it charge but nope. It appears to only react on the right side of the device. I thought maybe this is how the Joycons charge, but they don't turn on my charger's LED in any position. I don't see anything in the teardown that sticks out to me to suggest there is wireless charging in the Joycon or the dock parts, so is there a wireless charging solution in the Switch itself?
Is there a potential part that would be confusing my charger that makes it think there is wireless charging or is there wireless charging in the Switch that just isn't compatible with my charger? Can anyone confirm this or provide clarity on what may really be going on?
It would be interesting if Nintendo included this.
Lock if old.
