I still can't do the inferno 2 ramp part for shit. i can get there in less than a minute with no faults, but get stuck there. I know what I should be doing, but I just can't do it.

I actually think it's my controller and worn out triggers. I just don't get the precision needed to feather the gas to get momentum up the ramps. I'll have to try it with a brand new one.
Dude. I spent 2 hours trying to beat Inferno II. And yes that ramp part is thee hardest part in the game I believe, like no joke. Me and my friend dubbed it "The Jump" to remind us of the agony it caused. I beat it yesterday after about 2 hours and oh man, just getting passed that jump Ive never felt so much relief in a game ever. I beat that map with 5 seconds to spare before I hit the 30 minute mark. And the shitty part is I cant give you advice because getting off that second ramp was PURE FUCKING luck. This is the first game in my life that I move and sway the controller in real life like a little kid playing super Mario brothers trying to jump thinking it will help lmao. :lol Good luck man. Im one achievement away from 200 and will be dominating this today.

The problem with that ramp is that even you make it over the second rampy wooden thing, there is still a chasm witha single platform to land on and push off of. I cleared the second wooden ramp and plumetted to a firey death. How much is left until the next check point?

Ya right :lol :lol

You are not getting that tournament achievment. The record in the world is 2 faults, no one has that achievement, and no one will unless they update it (which they probably will.

Once you hit that barrel you pretty much get a checkpoint. But then there is two more really hard parts.

Well aint that a buzz kill. I was guessing it was going to be something impossible. Like all extreme levels in a row, allowing no faults. But I havnt looked at it.

Ya, it's pretty damn impossible.

But here's some good news :) After all this talk about Inferno 2, I decided to give it a shot, and I completed it in 59 tries :)

I completed the ramps on my third try, the pipes on my second, and the last part on my 5th.

It was that steep ramp that fucked my up. I would have had like 25 if it wasn't for that damn ramp!!

Late to the thread, got a 360 for this a few days ago cause I was an obsessive Trials 2 player and couldn't hold out any longer.

I've been playing something around 8 hours a day straight and sleeping at 3AM cause of this. Of the tracks I have gold on everything but Goin Up, I hate/suck at climbing so bad. Up through Hard I have everything with 0 faults and a few platinums here and there, including one on King of the Hill...that took a few hours.

Last night I got platinum on Groundhog Forever when I was just trying to 0 fault it (did 0 on Brown Boxes the night before), then proceeded to try Inferno II again after my first try a few days ago which ended up with 74 faults or so. Gold is 30 faults in 4:00 and my progression towards that was:

34 in 3:37
28 in 4:16
31 in 3:28 (got hit by the last hammer on fault #29)
then finally
15 in 3:37

The annoying part is that 5 of those were on the easy part of the track and one more on the hill climb (again, I suck at climbing).

Not nearly as bad as my Inferno experience on Trials 2...900-1000 faults before hitting the 1 hour time limit. Haven't tried it since, although maybe I'm better now and can do it. In general HD seems easier, but I haven't tried Hard in 2 in a while either.

No that's not how you do it. You need to hold back, and then hold forward so your front tire goes over it, but you will do a bounce, and land on top. And you want to lean back is little as possible, just enough so your front tire will make it over.
You just said pretty much exactly what I just said... but minus the first bit.

see, I know that I could beat the shit out of the rest of the level, if I could just get past the two ramps. I can get to them in like a minute, so if I can actually get past them someday, that would top everyone on my friends list and I would laugh at them.

So I tried Inferno II again tonight.

15 in 2:35...4 or 5 of those were on the hammers

Then 2 or 3 faults going into the hammers...then it just fell apart.

And now 11 in 1:54.

I think I can do a 0 fault run on it. I don't have the tires or palettes 100% down, but I can do them enough for a 0 run. The pipes I'm still iffy on. I seem to have better success just wheeling over the top of them rather than the slow rocking technique. The problem with the wheelie technique is that I don't have enough control to stop where I need to.

Then there's the last I-beam and hammers. Hate that beam and the uneven ground I can't get good enough traction on to consistently shoot through.

edit: 7 in 1:34, lost 1 to the hammer and 1 to the I-beam. Of course.

Finally beat all the extreme levels :D Only bronze though. I don't think I could torture myself trying to get better results!

20 mins and 262 faults on Inferno II. Well pleased with that :lol

Call me when you do the 'Ultimate Endurance" with 0 faults :lol

Just kidding, good job on being 5th.
That one makes me want to die, I still have a few of the other tourneys to 0 fault.

I can't believe someone actually got it. Looking at the leaderboards...that guy with 1 fault has to be feeling like shit.

Aaah FUCK Inferno II god fucking damn it. I can get to the second ramp every fucking time but I NEVER have enough speed to reach the platform on the other side. BLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLRG

Holy shit. And I thought I was good with my 26 faults on Inferno II.

What do you have for King of the Hill? I have 6 faults I believe.

He has 0 faults at 1:07.940 (#67). Yeah, I just checked.

Yeah 0 faults on the tracks, bunch on the tourneys though.

Put up a crappy webcam video of my Inferno run: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2l07sdFiU4c
Somewhat hard to tell everything going on unless you already know the track a bit. I smack the rider's head on one of the tires and hard on the beam above the hill climb, got lucky there.

The palettes? The main thing there is to make sure your front wheel doesn't rise up, if that happens at all you're pretty much boned on the jump since you lose some speed and forward momentum.

Well I've seen and tried the slow rocking technique...but I can't pull that off worth a damn, it's just as risky for me trying that as it is doing the wheelie technique. Slow deliberate stuff like that and wall climbing I seem to suck at (Goin Up was absolute hell for me), so if there's a way to do a section by gunning through I prefer that way.

Well, I think you might be on to something!

WOOT!!!! Just got gold on Inferno II...I am so happy right now...and have no real world friends who would care (actually I have no real world friends :( .)

Anyway just needed to tell someone - as always, feel free to add me: TRUTony

Woo finally beat 'Going Up'. I got to the very last part with only 50 tries left... I was worried I was going to fuck it up. What's with the limited fault thing anyway?

It's for the better. Once you get to that many faults, you're doing it wrong and a fresh take on the level is for the better. You get stuck in a rut at a certain point.

Fuck yeah, finally beat Inferno II. That wraps all the achievements I can possibly get at the moment. Inferno II actually turned out to be my most successful extreme level, in terms of faults and time.

Bought this today, been playing 6 hours straight. My god, easily one of the best games i've played this year. Amazing!!

I'd love to see some user-made levels. Plz add me on XBL if you have made any level you are sharing. Thanks. :D

Ditto. Amazing game and I'd like to see some user levels myself.

Like most I was able to get 10/12 achievements fairly quickly, but I think Inferno II is basically impossible.

Now I can't stop being addicted to the Hill Climb race. God, so thrilling. I've only gotten 60 meters up but I'm addicted to trying to beat my friends. I've watched the top user so many times. It's my favorite skill game at the moment.

Funny, it is without question my least favorite skill game. Absolutely frustrating. Watching the people at the top of the leader board, when they go up it looks like their braking or something before each gap.. but the button icons indicate they just hold down gas the whole time but the engine is getting a workout because my bike doesn't sound like that when I attempt it.

They're holding the gas down less then full. The engine sounds funny because the throttle isn't wide open. You have to feather the gas a little to keep climbing on that one, that and don't lean forward the whole time.

Shit, you can do that? When I first started playing Trails I instinctively used the A button to accelerate. Then when I got to the hard levels I switched to the triggers because I needed to use the brake. A lot. And it felt more natural on LT than it does on X or B or whichever one it is. So in my mind I was thinking of the gas and brake as either on or off. Didn't consider that you could hold the gas halfway down. Funny how I was able to beat all the levels without knowing that. Thanks for the tip.

Yeah the analog gas is crucial for climbing since pushing forward too much just makes the rear wheel lose traction and full on gas makes you flip at a certain point. It's basically like doing a wheelie when the climb is steep enough.

Trials 2 on the PC only had arrows which made climbing much more of a pain in the ass. Other than the level design the analog control is another big thing that makes HD seem easier than 2 to me.

Another day of playing this non-stop. Some of these hard / extreme levels are just ridiculous. But still, not since N+ have I been willing to tolerate so much abuse from a game. So glad I bought this.

Last time I played it, which was last night, it just straight up shit me. The kind of game if you take time away from it, it almost becomes pointless to pick it up for a quick hit.

I really wish I'd known what this game was going to become before I bought it. I loved the big jumps and crazy ramps and loops, but that pretty much ends just as soon as the demo does. The rest of the game? Hate it. Wish I could have my points back. Was entirely not what I expected based on the demo.

You have a point. While the easier levels are definitely easy, they're still fun to replay for the leaderboards aspect of things. The later levels are just so frustrating that they might not even be worth ever playing again for some people.

I got the bowling strike achievement last night... I'm pretty sure it took me about 400 tries. I'm not really an achievement whore, but I just couldn't stop because I kept getting so close. I must've had one pin left standing 50+ times.

I agree that the game is at it's best at the medium difficulty (going fast doing jumps vs trying to get over a box on an incline -_-), but I still enjoy the challenge of getting through the hard levels and beating the easier levels flawlessly for the leaderboard climb. I wouldn't mind seeing a DLC pack with like a dozen medium tracks and 2 or 3 hard/extreme tracks. I'd prefer it to one consisting of all hard/extreme levels anyway.

We've been discussing this earlier, but the hard/extreme tracks are only one third of the game, or just a quarter if you include the skill games. So why not enjoy the three quarters of the game that's not frustrating to you?

The big jumps, and rhythm-like quarter pipe jumps and spines were really fun....REALLY fun. However, I got tons of enjoyment out of this game once I learned how to pop up over steep inclines, shift my weight just right, and speed up that hill after it. It seemed hard at first, but the real meat of the game comes at the harder levels imo. Once I got the hang of getting traction on that back tire, I was hooked.
