The Trials HD Official Thread

Zombie James said:
I picked up Trials HD during the last sale and I have a question about user created maps. When I go to the custom maps section, it says none of my friends have any custom maps to download. Is there any way to play maps from other people, or can I only play maps that people on my friends list have created?
Unfortunately you can only download maps that your friends have uploaded. Try going to the Redlynx forums and adding some people there who have made tracks.

wow. totally missed this. cool.

and holy shit new DLC out tomorrow! will be buying asap.

Will definitely buy the DLC tomorrow... love this game! I'm not ranked as high as a lot of people in the thread, but I was around 2,000 +DLC.

Nice timing on the new DLC, just finished the Big Pack today. Mostly bronze medals, admittedly, but you've got to know your limitations :lol

I would pay so much money to play this on my PS3 :(
My brother loves Trials 2 on PC but only has a PS3, no 360, so I'd like to see a PS3 version too.

Ooh, forgot the DLC was out so soon. I'm still balls-deep in GT5 but I'm going to have to grab this.

The triggers aren't precise enough for this game. Not enough throw.
Try playing it on PC then! You'll be begging for 360 pad support within 3 levels.

HOLY FUCK this game is awesome and addictive... I can't believe I payed 400 msp for it+240 for the expansion :lol I've cleared all the tracks except Goin' Up, Inferno II and the DLC Hard/Extreme tracks.

That Goin' Up though... it's impossible! My problem is the hill climb move, that is landing on something that's nearly vertical, quick-tapping the gas and then climbing. My problem is that as I land, I need to lean back a bit to land straight on the incline. When I do, my bike starts tipping over backwards, and as I start to give the gas, I also try to tip forward to avoid flipping over backwards. But when I lean forward, my back wheel bounces off the ground and I fall :( Sometime I don't bounce, but I can't figure out why. I just can't seem to get it down consistently... I've come as far as the second to last slope on Goin' Up, but by then I'm at like 25 minutes and there's no way I can clear the last two that fast. Help me GAF :( I've watched Youtube videos but it doesn't really help...

its all about finesse Ledsen. and that only comes with practice. watching replays helps too, but practice is the key.

go back to King of the hill and get good at it. it will help a lot with Goin Up.

when you learn that skill and others, then you begin to see the true brilliance of Trials. have fun! it can be addictive.

holy crap the new DLC is really fun so far. got the first 3 platinums and going to try more now.

lots of content for 400 pts. im really pleased so far.

anyone want some decent comp feel free to add me. GT is in profile.

Bought the DLC. I won't have time to play it for awhile, but I wanted to show Day One support in the hopes that we'll get a sequel soon.

Trailer for the Big thrills!

Nice to have the trailer out(and of course the DLC), I almost went crazy with Beethoven blasting away at full volume all day long in the office. (yes, I'm a Artist @ Redlynx. Antti made me do this shameless commercial post :D )

is the black friday sale still up on xbox live marketplace? I bought the full game and now want the dlc. Does dlc have separate achievements?

Each DLC pack adds another three achievements. With both packs installed, Trials has 18 achievements worth a total of 300G.

Youtube? Bah! Pro tip: go to the track selection, then go to leaderboards, then tab over to all players. You can watch the best players in the world and it shows their movements on a virtual analog stick and triggers.

Though some of those guys' runs are not practical for just completing the track. If you want, friend me, GT: Najaf. I have platinum on all tracks except for three of the expert tracks. On those I have golds. All of my hard and expert times are replay featured so you can see a 'normal' person go through them.

Any info on what's in the new DLC? Like ratio of levels per difficulty and mini-games?

8 easy
13 medium
15 hard
3 extreme

6 tournaments

something like that anyway

no new minigames, 3 new achievements

BooYah! Donkey challenge complete. God I love this game!

Wow ,really? I was looking for a "watch leaderboard replays" feature but couldn't find it. Thanks! It's really amazing how you get noticeably better everytime you play a track. I tried Goin' Up a few more times today and suddenly I could do the beginning sections in just a few tries whereas before it took me look 5 mins just to get up the first hill :D

Yeah, they host something like the top 3,000 times' replays on each track. Its great because anyone, if they dedicate to one track can get a replay featured. If you have friends who play trials, you likely dont need to go to all players to see replays. Usually your friends will have some top times on some of the tracks and its nice to see how they are doing things straight from the friends leaderboard tab.

Taking a break helps a lot. Sometimes you get stuck in a really bad rut with this game. Kind of like a hitter going into a slump in baseball.

I can't wait to sink my teeth into the new dlc.

taking a break means trying other tracks before going back to the one giving you trouble. there is always room for improvement on every track.

you know youre hooked when youve attained platinum and you still go back for more.

blood, sweat. and tears. no mustard on my bike.

I went back to the DLC pack #1 before trying DLC #2 out and I realized I never finished pack 1 because the 2nd to last track on hard where at the very beginning, 4 feet from the starting line, there are these angled vents an inch of the ground and no matter what I do I can't get past them. Which is weird because I even beat some of the Extreme stages but I can't climb this stupid vent :lol

Anyhow started on DLC pack #2, so goooood. Still my favorite downloadable game this gen :)

I know how you feel, that was the last track I beat because of that damn vent. I'm not even sure I'd be able to get past it again.

Learn the bunny hop.

I feel like the distinction between medium/hard is even further blurred (which is fine by me!)

The only track I really don't like thus far is Spiderweb

Bought the 2nd DLC pack for this. I'm terribly rusty with the game right now. It certainly didn't help that I played Joe Danger since the last time I touched Trials, and the physics are remarkably different :lol

I tried that for an hour last night. I've lost all my finesse and that micro donkey bike blows giant donkey balls.

yeah the Donkey is a bitch to use. ive never really put much time into learning it.

this will take a little bit of practice to no fault for sure.
