The Unfinished Swan (PSN) teaser trailer

Wow, looks great and could be interesting and fun. Sony has my respect for funding these type of games. Seems rather crazy and risky to back 4 years of development on such projects. I'm not complaining though :) I'm super glad this type of games is being made.

Sony has done a great job pre E3 IMO. Some might claim they're 'blowing their load', and those people might be right. However, I can't help but think this is better for the games being (re)announced. It gives them their own spotlight devoid of the mammoth E3 news rush.

If anything, I'm more pumped for Sony's conference because we'll finally get to see these games in action. I guess phase 4 for them is Soul Sacrifice on may 10th

Perhaps someone has mentioned it already in another thread, but i remember playing a certain LBP user created level with a similar gameplay mechanic. Iirc the level was pitch black and the only thing you could see was your sackboy, so in order to safely traverse the level you had to use the paintgun to make your environment visible. Unfortunately i don't remember the name and it's not among my hearted levels. I wonder if it's somehow related to this project or if it was just a case of two minds thinking alike.

I'm getting this for sure, day 1!

but I also hope Sony or the devs release another game that is more like the initial showing...a strategy horror game like.

The first version, it seemed like you had to be careful to not shoot the paint balls everywhere, because then the room would turn pitch black, then you are kind of assed out trying to find where to go....so then you would have to balance how much paint splatter you need to see to get by, but then you have the weird sounds surrounding you...so you want to shoot more paint balls to find out what's around you...but again...not to much.....but then, you don't know what you might reveal.

I mean, they could still be pulling a fast one on us, and toward the end of this Swan game it might turn into horror, but probably not......but I'd still like a horror game.

to be honest, the way they said the God Of War Team was involved and how Krato's blood tech was used as an initial reference....I wouldn't be surprised if the next GOW, had a level that was pitch black, and Kratos had to navigate the section by throw some type of effect on the walls, like this game.

The more variety the better. This looks promising, the idea is very strange but i like it. There's a lot of potential here.

PSN really has become a haven for quirky little indie games, second only to Steam on PC.

GOW III already had a similar level as the one you suggest. The dark cave one. Albeit that was pretty linear.

I remember seeing that concept video a long time ago... and it makes me happy to see it finally turn into something more substantial. Sony once again proves they support the small guys... hopefully they don't stop.

This looks absolutely stunning and I can't wait to see more. Hell, I'd like to see Sony demo it on stage at E3. A complete change of pace and a big stage for a unique, indie game like this.

For those of you familiar with Sony’s relationship with thatgamecompany, it’s the same kind of thing. Sony calls it an “incubation deal.” In addition to giving us funding they also provide office space, equipment and advice (often in the form of this cheerful graphics programmer from the God of War team). The best part is that we get to focus all of our energies on just making a game.

I love this. Really sounds like Sony is out to support them in anyway they can and help them grow as opposed to simply giving them a stack of cash and telling them to get at it and nothing else. Really refreshing to see.

Wow that's really nice. I love Sony for that:D

See, games like this are why we need Sony in the console space. They bring stuff like this to the table.

I like that they're doing what they did with TGC too. The game looks amazing, and hopefully Sony can make them as successful as they made TGC

It's great that Sony supports these small and experimental games (or even big budget titles like Heavy Rain and The Last Guardian) but it doesn't always pay off for them I think.

They took TGC under their wings for three games with all the support needed and now they're gone because they want to make games for other platforms. Sure, Sony made some money with the succes of the software, but in the end it doesn't get them very far it seems.
