The Walking Dead Season 2 SPOILERS Thread!

Damn the first one was rather disappointing. Or at least the first half was. Months later, then two very short scenes only focussed on taking Omid and Christa away (and getting rid of your choices). The dog scene felt a bit rushed as well. Then Luke and Pete show up and they literally both switch their attitude completely in like 10 seconds. Luke dropping Clem and being completely distrustful in one moment and a minute later he is all like "Yeah my gut feeling says it is just a dog bite" "I'm on your side kid". Pete said he believed me and next scene he says "we could take her arm off". Like WTF? Also it's pretty bad from a writing perspective that both the supposed doctor Carlos and no one else thinks that her wound might be infected and she would get a fever anyway, walker bite or not.

On the other hand the second part was pretty great, with Clem being very manipulative. I really enjoyed that and while the final choice already felt like it is not going to matter in the long run in the slightest, it was still a cool scene.

Hey, Nick can die.

So there are three people in this episode who can live or die?

EDIT: Or two, because I really do not see any way to save Walter.

Only Bonnie went to the camp on my 400 days playthrough. I wonder if the rest of them will show up at some point?

My choices aren't showing up on Steam. Really bums me out. Good episode, though. I was happy to see Kenny, but his possessiveness made it quickly apparent he's even more fucked up than he was before. Good to see he's gonna be whiny bitch this season too. I'm really worried about Luke, I hope to hell he's ok. I felt bad there's no way to prevent the kidnapping. The whole reunion scene after meeting Kenny I kept thinking "Um, I saw people. When are we going to address that?" Sure enough.

Great episode. Felt like a nice slow burn with some tense moments. I really like these games but The almost 3 month wait's are ridiculous. I might start waiting for all the episodes to release before I play in a Season 3, if it happens.

This.

Lots of thoughts...

First of all, I never understood why people complained about the technical stuff in Telltale games but i really felt it this time (PS3 user here) looong load times, the begining of every scene would lag like hell, stiff animations, and I didn't see my choices at the end nor can I pull it up on a menu, so I'm pretty pissed off right now...

As far as the story goes, I really like Nick and Luke. The drinking scene was fun and I am really happy Nick didn't die. Hope Luke shows back up next episode.

I was not happy to see Kenny back, I know GAF loves him but honestly I thought he was a dick, I wish it was Mollie who came back, hell, even Ben. Honestly I don't care about him one bit. But the game kind of let me vent that hatred towards him, I like that it gave me that option instead of trying to force some like for him out of nostalgia for Season 1.

There were lots of tense idk what to do situations, especially surrounding the three different groups meeting and who Clem should be working with. I thought that was good stuff.

One of my least favorite episodes. Ign says 2 1/2 hours but it only took me 71 minutes. They whole first 45 minutes felt rushed like it was missing scenes. Easily the worst episode they have made other than the train episode in season one for me. The whole end sequence was predictable and the big baddie of the season is a rehash of the governor. So disappointed.

Nick can live? How? Not that it really matters much to me since I wanted him to die anyway.

Also so glad to see my bro Kenny back. Even if he is clearly unhinged...

The key moment that decides whether Nick lives or dies is whether you tell Walter he's "like everybody else" or actually a good person.

Bonnie was fucked but I gave her the benefit of the doubt and saved pretty much everything. That scathing remark from Kenny though in the preview.

I seriously think they did a great job this season in trying to keep it from feeling too much like last. The choices are a bit better this time around, even if the story will march on no matter what you do. And that ending is what really made it for me. I literally shouted "What the fuck!" when it cut to black.

I loved that part, even though there's no way in hell Kenny should have survived.

Wait, you can prevent Alvin from getting shot?? Shit, now I feel bad.

Kenny was being a dick to Clem in the next episode's preview. Yeah, I feel like we're going to be assholes to each other just like in my first playthrough with Lee in season one

You basically have to give yourself up and then risk to save him. I did both, I feel bad for not running to get Luke and Kenny. Kenny, as much of a jackass he was in season 1, is like a war buddy that you're just happy to see alive.

Does Luke still ditch if you try and go find him and Kenny? Kinda sad he's not there right now cause he was turning into a replacement Lee up to this point.

Yeah, something funny happened. You can ask Kenny and he says Luke got upset about something and took a walk.I really don't trust Kenny anymore. I shot his dumb little kid in the face for him but just because I wouldn't immediately salt block an old man when he wanted to, he was on the rag the rest of season 1.

I embraced him initially, but he seems to think Clem is still just a little girl and can go along with whatever he says is best.

Kenny and I were best buds in season 1, so this was an emotional episode for me. There was that part where you had to choose whether to sit with him or with the new group, and I chose the new gang because I still felt like I wanted them to trust me. And I had started to really like Luke and Nick by that point. But man, Kenny's face when he saw me heading toward their table. :'(

I kinda regretted not doing this. All I could think of is "why the hell aren't you dead?"

And man, Walter's kindness was not rewarded. Shot swiftly and mercilessly. Reminded me of Carley's death.

but just because I wouldn't immediately salt block an old man when he wanted to

Now you're gonna go and make me remember the bad times.

Edit: Only Walter died in my game. Kenny seemed pretty trusting of Clementine in the preview since I risked her life to save Alvin.

Screw Bonnie.

Kenny shot Luke like Shane almost shot Rick.

Kinda made me laugh when the message "Pete will remember that" popped up when I answered him about looking out for Nick lol. And what the fuck is it with these grown ass men having an 11 year old girl so everything for them? Shit is just not credible which is why I didn't want to play as her in 2nd season, but it is what it is.

Still enjoying it, it always feels short and sweet.

Carlos did try to keep Clementine from going with Luke on the bridge at one point. That's where either Luke or Clementine can insist Clem can take care of herself.

Thoroughly enjoyed it, though I hit a really irritating bug in the PC version. At random points, the animations would hitch & the game would cut to white. Then immediately crash once I tapped start. It wasn't consistent (happened twice at the very end, once after the transformer blew, and another time shortly after Walter is shot) - and I was able to overcome it just by relaunching the game. I had to go through the ending sequence three times (made the same choices every time. Minimal casualties, what what!).

That aside, very satisfying episode. Not the same highs as Season 1's second episode, but better than the season opener.

Did anyone notice the small dig at the "Is Clem black or Asian" debate with the can of peaches? "Hey, she looks just like you!" *Clem rolls eyes*

2nd Episode was definitely better than the first, but I think the animation is getting progressively worse as the series goes along. I think N(ew Kenny)ick is coming around, and he managed to live through my playthrough.

[HUG KENNY]

I loved that part, even though there's no way in hell Kenny should have survived.

I kind of figured they were just imitating the comics where [TWD comic spoilers]
Tyrese goes into the gym and appears to be dead, only to be discovered alive.

I mean, TWD is not shy in showing you in graphic detail the deaths of main characters. So when they deliberately don't show you a character death, it seems like something is up.

Good episode though. Even if it seems like the whole Carver thing is pretty similar to the Governor/Woodbury, it'll be neat to see the game's take on that sort of a situation. Will be interesting to see if/how any of the 400 Days characters fit into things too.

I ended up having only Walter get killed. Nick and Alvin were spared. Is it even possible to save Walter? His death kind of seemed especially preordained.

Carver's voice was really bothering me when he first showed up since it sounded really familiar and I couldn't place it. Until he started beating on Carlos and I realized Carver is Michael Madsen- then I half expected Carver to slice off Carlos' ear or something.

I kind of feel that choosing who to sit with for dinner was the hardest choice of the entire series thus far.

Right? Like high school all over again. Especially Kenny lashing out at your new friends.

I'm sorry, I know I'm harping on this but fuck Kenny. Wasn't crazy about him in Season 1 and he looks worse here.

I have a feeling Kenny has gone a little crazy.

Just a tad.

Also that scene where Walter finds out the truth about Matthew was almost as tense as the scene where you talk to the Stranger the season 1. Goddamn.

I think one of the problems I have with the game is that after S1, I know it really doesn't matter who lives or dies, so I'm prepared to just let everyone get shot.

So, was there any chance to give Kenny the drawing that I missed? I kept going over to him every opportunity to hand it over, but I never got the prompt.

I like this series, but honestly it really needs a better engine handling all of it.
Between scenes it can microstutter and the animations can look pretty awful.

I don't have a problem with the style of the game, but I think a better engine would help hold up that great story immensely.

Ohh shit I forgot about that... perhaps you'll be able to do it in the next episode?

Can Alvin be saved if I stop Kenny from shooting after Walter dies?

Woah, Alvin can die?

Edit: lol I forgot I got Nick killed hahaha. Shows how much I cared about him.

I can't help but think they'd die next episode anyways given how these things work. However, letting them live will be for another playthrough. I always use my gut decisions (and stick with them) for my main playthrough and do the fiddling in subsequent ones.

The only casualty for me was Walter (and Matthew, obviously), but I think that one is required. The preview suggested Kenny is mad at me for giving up too easily, but it seems like you end up surrendering no matter what, so I'm glad fewer people had to die.
