The Walking Dead Season 2 SPOILERS Thread!

weird...none of my achievements popped up, kind of bummed about that actually.

Because TT added them just 15min ago. So you'll have to play through Ep5 again if you want to unlock them (that's what I'll do)

The episode was alright. Didn't feel like a finale. RIP Kenny (I always liked Jane anyway)

It does feel a bit like a middle chapter, but when I think about continuing this story, it just reminds me of the disappointment we felt after the many ME2 endings went nowhere in ME3. We'll probably feel burned by the way TTG chooses to reconcile the very different endings. No dev has truly pulled this off before, and S2 doesn't give me the confidence that TTG can do it, either.

Thought it was a pretty disappointing end to a disappointing season. I'm sure all the endings will be forgotten within 10 minutes of the next season.

What are the different endings?

Ending spoiler because it just came out.
I ended up with Jane and the baby back in Carver's now-abandoned Wal-Mart Super Fortress. A family came by, and I let them in.

Yeah, this was my ending. I guess
what Jane did convinced me that Kenny was a bit too unhinged to deal with, at that point. What she did was messed up, but I guess he was a loose canon...? I dunno, man. Might have shot them both if I was given the option, because screw it. Would have shot in the air, too.

Screw Arvo, Mike, Bonnie... Hell, screw everyone. Should have just walked away on my own.

It was a satisfying conclusion. Some of the episodes this season were relatively weak, but it was alright as a whole. Don't think the endings will matter much going into season 3. Would probably prefer a new protagonist instead of being in Clementine's shoes again.

You could have done what I did,
I let Kenny kill Jane, and then I shot Kenny. My game ended with me and the baby alone. Works for me?

I
shot Kenny and left alone with the baby, but the best ending by far is letting Jane die and staying at Wellington
I was in tears after I saw that and it feels like the true ending. I cried almost as hard as when Lee died in S1. Also
that flashback made me teary eyed. Fuck why isn't everything a dream. Why can't we be back in S1 with Lee, whyyyyyyyy

Are you serious? Ahh, does that include the "My choices" thing, cause I didnt get that either? Cause I really don't feel like replaying the episode (I'll do it if I have to).

Choosing to kill Kenny was the easiest choice the game has ever given you, I wish I could have left the baby too, got a feeling that's going to be annoying in future seasons.

Fine. I pumped my fist when the game finally let me kill Kenny after two years of suffering his nonsense.

I was kinda torn on it. But I shot him in the end as well. Then they pull that "oh lol I just lied about the dead baby" and I'm like ....what
There should've been a third option, because I sure as hell didn't forgive her, but I was going to go with her.

Oh and lastly, can you avoid getting shot? I just screamed for help and then that fucking russkie shot me.

Yeah it sucks that keeping the baby is the only thing that is consistent in these endings.

And also, WTF Mike? That was a random turn for him and it was stupid as hell. The game doesn't detail where he goes, but I hope he didn't run away with Arvo, because that would make him a weak-spined bastard for running away with an asshole who would do that to a child. I hope for his sake that he split from everyone and ran since the group certainly wouldn't take him back, but if not, then I'll kill them both in S3 if I have the chance. Thanks for making the only decent group member this season suck, TTG. :/

Might do a time-skip like the comic has just done recently when he's like two/three and Clementine is nearing teens or is a teen.

If they're gonna do another 400 Days I'd prefer it focus on:

What happened to Christa?
What happened to the survivors at Carver's place?
What happens to Arvo, Mike and Bonnie?

Otherwise I'd like a S3 on Christa instead, Clementine is getting old now.

Pretty much, I felt it was time to get rid of him. I went alone, Jane is crazy as hell.

I shot Kenny. I cried a lot.

I forgave Jane and went with her to Carver's old place. I turned away the family that showed up asking for help.

I'm actually surprised at the multiple endings. Wasn't something I really expected going into it but now I'm curious to see if they continue Clem's story or if they just forget about it all together. Also I guess going with Jane was the least popular choice which surprised me a little bit as well.

They'll either choose one ending for Season 3, or drop Clementine entirely. Either way, it's gonna be pretty unsatisfying for people who want to know where her story goes after this.

Some random thoughts

- I'm surprised the Russians didn't kill anyone in the stand off. I thought for sure Mike was going to get killed.

- The saving Luke from the ice choice was really depressing.

- It was weird how Bonnie turned on you if you didn't save Luke. Also weird how she just left Clem there after she got shot. You would think after the bonding they did during episode three, she wouldn't have done any of that.

- I thought for sure Christa would be at Wellington. I wonder if this means she died in the woods or will she show up later?

- All these different endings must mean will be getting a new protagonist for season 3.

- I'm guessing that Telltale games will release a game staring the 400 Days characters before the new season starts.

I was legitimately angry when Jane told me what she had done. I can't believe anyone would go with her after she pulled that shit.

You might have been interpreting that wrong. When I did it, something like 19.1% of the players decided to go with Jane and invite the family in. That's 19.1% of apparently 5 different possible ending results, 2 of which involve going with Jane.

I don't know, I actually saw it coming before the fight went down. When Jane said to "stay out of it," and "you're gonna see what he really is." Seemed like a pretty big tell to me.

Oh, maybe so. Either way I'm interested in seeing how the overall percentages shake out.

Yeah, I don't think what Jane did was that insane, really. She lied, but it was also to prove that Kenny had gone kinda nuts, and him jumping to the conclusion that she killed the baby or whatever and straight up trying to kill her kinda shows it. I mean, Kenny even agreed that it was the right decision when you shoot him.

Spared kenny at the end. Glad I did, that shit Jane pulled with the lie about the baby being dead was just heinous, and I hope she didn't do that just to prove a point, could've put everybody in danger, Kenny may have beaten the shit out of that kid, but at least he had a clear motive, unlike Jane who was unreadable at times, seemed untrustworthy half the time, and then reliable the other half. Went with him and easily got the best ending, Clem and the kid got to a safe haven and Kenny got some closure. Jane was also pretty unstable in her own way it would seem. Flip-flopping all over the place mentally.

Fade to black and a lot of gunshots. Suddenly no one in your group is damaged. Potential plot armour? I dunno.

The black guy (Mike?) got shot in the arm.

Oh and choosing to shoot at the zombies will net you both Bonnie and Luke drowning, with a bonus of you seeing Luke trying to hammer through the ice before he blacks out and drops out of view.

What happens if you pick the other option?
Bonnie goes to save Luke, but the ice breaks and they both fall in. Clem sees Luke through the ice and makes a hole, but then she falls in too. Once your in the water you can see that Luke drowned, before Jane pulls Clem out and Bonnie climbs out of the water on her own.

Oh you can get him out? He just drowned for me when I started hesitating about hammering the ice >_>

Killed Kenny which wasn't an easy decision and there wasn't much of a choice really. Like Jane said, Kenny was a time bomb and it pretty much proved by Jane. Kenny lost so much and he can't even bother listening to other people. He lashes out when someone tries to reason with him. Dude lost his shit

I kinda knew what Jane did a see the point. 4/5

It's alright, Clem got trapped under ice and shot and was fine.

I felt really ehhhhh about the ending, but I stand by the choices I made. I like the way the other endings sound better, and I wish the ending I got for making the choices I did had been better.

I shot Kenny (because he really is insane, Jane's right) but as much as I wanted to stay with Jane, I couldn't go with her after what she did...

So I ended up alone. Going through that field just didn't feel like the end. It cut to black and I was like "That's it?"

Maybe I'll rewind (for the first time in the series) and go with Jane...

Not exactly a spoiler, but on Vita I downloaded the update and the new episode, and the game now wont launch if wifi is on.
Edit: OMFG 3FPS for over 2 minutes in a row.

I shot the zombies and Bonnie pulled herself out after failing to save Luke. She gets mad at Clementine, but whatever. She goes with Mike and Arvo right after that.

It was obvious and justified. Kenny was completely unhinged, and Clem refused to cut him loose. It's not like she killed the baby.

Yeah Kenny was reaching his breaking point, but he was a good man dammit :( AJ and Clem were all he had left and she tries to take AJ away from him. His reaction wasn't justified, but I understand why he reacted that way. Any person will lash out like that if they lose everything. Like Bonnie said, good people can do bad things. Fuck Jane. I liked her before, but she was a POS this episode.

That flashback. Dem feels

Right? At first I thought, are they really going to make all of this be one big dream? And got a little uneasy at the thought. but the longer the scene went on, the more I realized I just wanted to be back in S1 with Lee and Clem together. Looking back now, that's probably a bad idea, but I miss the times in the game where things were happier and less desolate.

I also loved the part where the group is talking about sex and clem says "I know what you guys are talking about. Kissing and stuff" lol

Pretty much, I felt it was time to get rid of him. I went alone, Jane is crazy as hell.

I felt like Jane was justified. Shes a survivalist and knows when cut ties, when to fight, when to run, etc. And in an attempt to harden Clementine she had to show that it's time to cut ties when someones a time bomb like he is. Her argument in the car was just stating the obvious. I left Kenny alone, but honestly wish I shot him instead.

Some thoughts having finished the episodes:

- I knew that they were going to eventually make me choose between Jane and somebody else. Jane is the most competent reality focused person in this universe, and I like the big/little sister dynamic she has with Clem, of course I was going to choose her. Having said that I felt a bit terrible about killing Kenny under false pretenses, but at the end of the day she was right. I knew Kenny was a ticking time bomb, I'm just glad I was able to send him to see Duck in the afterlife.

- FUCK. Bonnie. No seriously. Fuck her flip flopping ass. It was logical for me to not run to the fucking cracking ice, I gave him back up, and because you walked there when there was no need to (almost all the nearby walkers were gone) he lost his chance. I wish there wouldv'e been a "you fucking killed him you ass" choice, I liked the guy too you know? And not only an 'i've liked you this whole time' crush, he liked Clem way more than he liked you.

- When they were going to take the truck I wanted them to leave quietly, I didn't want to shoot and freak them out, so I handed the gun to Mike because hey he seemed like a decent guy and he genuinely didn't want to hurt me. Then Arvo that motherfucker.

- No seriously Arvo that motherfucker. Not only did I not steal your supplies, I wasn't the one who came out to help with an ambush against me and my crew. And when your sister turned, I shot her because that's the reality of this world. And when you were crying I came to comfort you. And when Kenny was blaming you or beating you up, I asked for him to leave you alone. But did you care? No. You kept glaring at me for god knows what reasons you idiotic motherfucker. And then your wimpy ass shoots me when I'm handing the gun? FUCK. YOU. If I ever see your ass, or Bonnie's, I'll make it a point to telling them to get the fuck out. I'll give Mike the option to stay though, he's a decent guy outside of trying to fuck us all over by stealing the food and running away. Actually, fuck Mike too, but I'd be willing to give him a chance if he proves himself.

- The most emotional I got was when we cut to that flashback with Lee. Like Clem and Kenny, god damn I miss Lee. What an amazing character and the father/daughter figure between him and Clem was great. I made it a point for Clem to say she missed him at every chance I got.

- My ending was the returning to the Town place we escaped from with Jane and the baby. The baby needed the food, it was the most surefire way and we weren't too far away. I didn't turn away the family though. I understand Jane's point that keeping to yourself and your number's down has an advantage, but there are too many people out there in groups that could overwhelm a kid, a baby, and a grown woman. We need strength in numbers, and I decided to trust these guys because they had a kid. It paid off I guess, the dad could make himself useful, the wife was sweet, and the kid seems more in touch with reality than what's her face.

Final thoughts: It was an enjoyable season, but for completely different reasons than season 1. I know many like to say that it isn't as good period, but I liked it because we get to see the transformation of Clem from whimpering little girl to a survivor, and depending on our choices, a smart one at that. This isn't about right or wrong, it's about surviving and playing it smart. Staying with Kenny was a death sentence because he's psychotic. I liked him, and I shed some tears when he was saying goodbyes. But he was too far gone. Jane was the right choice, she's smart, sees Clem as a new little sister (I mean 90% of the reason she came back lol), and seems to want to seek redemption for what she did to her little sister. She could've left so many times again, and she didn't. Because of Clem. I'm willing to forgive her.

I give this season an 8.5/10.
For comparison's sake I give the first season a 9.5/10

Goodbye bro!

Well, finished this. So, yeah, stuck with Jane at the end.

Sorry Kenny, I liked you, but you were far too gone. Death was actually a merciful way to say thanks for everything you did for Lee and Clem. Hopefully, you might see your wife and son again. The only thing I didn't like is that Kenny's head wasn't shot. He will turn into a zombie :(

Bonnie... Really never liked her at all. What did you want?; to have both Clementine and Luke die?; glad that woman is gone. Hopefully for good.

Arvo is a jerk. Really wanted to kill that dude.

Liked the flashback between Clem and Lee. It was quite heartwarming, and at the same time, sad that Lee won't come back.

As for the family if you choose Jane, I let them in. They don't seem bad. Hopefully, my choice won't affect in a bad way Clem and Jane.

Now I'm wondering what will Telltale do on their next season? Continue having Clem (older probably) as the protagonist despite the multiple endings, or have a new protagonist?

Whatever it is, Clem will have to be separated from whatever choice you made, since there are way too many different options, and they can't think of all those scenarios put together. Then again they could always just have the game start where there's a red, blue, or green explosion and everything is better.

Writing genius.

Ending was really a kick in the nuts. I didn't want to shoot Kenny. But if you don't, he kills Jane. The way I saw it, yes-Jane was manipulative, but it showed that Kenny had lost it and was willing to murder Jane out of anger. Jane was cold hearted, but I understand why she did it. Jane could be reasoned with, and her being with Clem has softened her up-she's becoming more "human" and trusting while Kenny became more unhinged no matter what. As much as I didn't want Kenny to die, Jane didn't deserve it.

Kenny was completely in the wrong in how he treated Alvo. Things could have been different if they have tried to make Alvo see things differently. He was an asshole in the end, but it had a lot to so with how Jane and Kenny had treated him. I'd be upset too.

Yeah, she's legitimately insane. I need another save file so I can play staying in Wellington.

I was legitimately angry when Jane told me what she had done. I can't believe anyone would go with her after she pulled that shit.

To be honest, Jane in my book was completely justified. Kenny was unhinged and been so for some time, each time it seems he was coming out of it, he dips back into dark territory where he starts acting rash. She didn't do it to "prove a point" and she did say it went further than she thought it would. She did it to bring Clem to reality, you can't always risk an entire group and yourself for one guy. Not when that person is the very threat.

To be honest I blame, Mike and Bonnie more for Kenny becoming even more unstable. He was probably able to be pulled back out had it not been for that. That and the fact he (maybe Clem as well if you wanted Wellington), was the only one in the group wanting and arguing for going to Wellington. He is definitely no different from the selfish Kenny from S1, only out to protect what he deems as family. It gets many characters in S2 killed: Alvin (determ), Walter, and Luke.

I know it doesn't matter if you choose not to go to Wellington, but even if the group did make it there, it seems only Clem and the baby would of been able to enter. What would the rest of the group had done?

Kenny's hopes relied on blind hope (he does this constantly) and he was willing to risk everything and everyone (even Clem) to get there. He does "redeem" himself by choosing to leave Clem and AJ in Wellington, but that was the logical choice anyways and therefore I don't consider it redemption.

In the end, killing him is the easiest choice because it is the logical choice. The only reason for keeping him alive is due to the fact the players are more attached to him than any S2 character, due to TT's poor character development including bonding with the player throughout this season. S2's group was just some group Clem had to be with, unlike S1's group.

Another note: Why the hell did Luke not try throwing that AK, must of weighed like 8 pounds and his machete then tried moving faster? There was no point in standing still or moving slow once the ice started budging. Unfortunately, I think it is due to Bonnie/Clem trying to save him that finally breaks the ice. By trying to save him, they effectively killed him off in the process.

Also there was no reason not to go around the lake. Why risk your whole group crossing ice?

Writing genius.

Season 3 starts with a hurricane killing everyone and inexplicably depositing Clementine and baby in the desert.
