The Warhawk Beta Summer of Awesome (PS3)

Do you think they will be adding more Beta testers every week, or do you think they are just going to stick with what they have for the time being?

From the rejection email it sounds like that was it.

Well, if you have an open DVI port and it does support HDCP, I'd invest the $9 (with shipping) for the HDMI->DVI cable. Actually, I'll give you my cable if you pay for shipping.

See, it says HDMI/DVI on like the same port. What effect would that have really? It's the same port. I think.

So for you guys that like it a lot, how much do you think it would be fair for Sony to charge for the downloadable version?

$30. $40 depending on the amount of content (maps, weapons, vehicles, etc).

But $30 would be a healthy tag.

I could go with $30 for sure. The only problem is that it's the kind of game where you have to play a lot and get good in order to enjoy it, and the release schedule for August-September is not conducive to that.

Is there anyone with access to the beta boards willing to let me PM them my feedback about the game, and then post it on the beta boards?

For free of course...

and it will be priced at least $50... I hope.

I really dont want to pay $30 for it, and then microtransact everything else...

i assume that you registered it with your PS3 and it works in setup menu in PS3?
Yep, but when I get in game no one can here me :/

Can anyone help me out? (I never used it yet besides to make sure it works,(the mic volume reacts to my voice) If anyone can start a chat with me on PS3 (PSN - Antpod) to test it, I would appreciate it.

Try starting a chat with PSN: Garrick in about 60 seconds

It should be 30-40, 50+ for a downloadable game is rape.

40 for the PSN download. 70 for the BD with Headset.

Here's the deal. Retail version is $40. If they are charging $20 for headset then the Download version would be $20. If they are charging $10 for headser, then download version would be $30.

Microtransactions won't cost alot, i guess. Considering previous cost of add-ons were all less than $5 (and were worth the price e.g. Blast Factor multiplayer and new features), expect the same for Warhawk.

It may be a downloadable game, but it's still strictly MP. $30 is the max they could charge for this thing IMO.

Retail games - with single player & multiplayer - retail for $60 and that's pushing it.

That kind of sucks, parachutes would've been cool.
Yeah, I think parachutes would break some of the games though. At least a few gametypes and maps involve not being able to land on some islands to cap stuff without working up to it by capping the zones up adjacent. At least that's what it looked like to me when I couldn't land on certain objectives.

So games with only single player should be 30$ also?

That's not what he was alluding to at all. He was just saying that the content that's in the game wouldn't be worth more than $30 as full-blown retail games (which Warhawk clearly isn't) are almost too expensive at $60.

Shadowrun is $60 3;

/new can of worms

Can you jump off a parachute? Say you have a heat seeking missile after you and you're on a plane, can you bail out?

Man I just typed up a long reply to this but noticed I was giving too much info when I got to the words "Danger Zone" lol. Sorry bailing sound cool, but it's easier to land the Patty Wagon, when you're being chased by coppers that want to land a criminal in your behind. Or just take it up the back door :\

And as for pricing, I would pay 60 for this (the blu ray version with the blue tooth headset :( ). Holding out on getting one for CAC until this is released. I'd rather have it in disk form anyway.

Wait, did you confuse Calling All Cars with Warhawk or did I just get confused? :lol

Beyond "Is it good?" how are the maps? How is the balance? Not worried about the freezing, they will obviously fix that

I have also heard a lot of complaints about mic quality

No, he didn't - you see, you first have to take off in in your Warhawk, and then...

GO FER THE RED PADDY WAGON - SCORE YERSELF SOME POINTS!

Ok yea I worded it jumbled up. Ok you have this glass man riding a humming bird. You see a hawk ready to launch a few sidewinder missiles at the humming bird. The H. Bird is currently over a highway and it would spell doom if the glass man bail. Better for the bird to try to get out the air, or take the sidewinder up the back door. Don't let the hawk get himself some points.

there is no way that retail with bt headset will be $40... did you actually play the game? Game has more depth than BF1942, which had single player that only crazy people played. Q3A anyone? :-)

you guys need to separate wishes from reality...

for final game it would be great, good... mic quality - you got to consider that these are mostly user hosted games, so mic quality is really good if connection/bandwith of server hosting games is good....

i didnt get single freeze playing for few hrs tonite.... hooorah for Incognito

I haven't said anything about the game here due to NDA (heh), but I will say one thing...

How do you get cheaters/teamkillers in a mother****ing BETA!?!?!

PS

I'm not taling about accidents. I'm talking about one person killing his own teamates to help the other side win...

Sony gave you a brand new US PS3 for your "broken" JP PS3 ? Nice.

No. EB gave me a brand new US PS3 for my existing PS3. That's why I paid for the warranty. No questions asked returns.

Garickk, I don't know the model number of the TV. It's on my manuals somewhere. It's a samsung LCD from 2005 though.
