The Witcher 3 has a huge flaw - Loot

I had a wonderful time crafting out every Witcher Set as I reached new level plateaus that allowed them to be equipped. Was a nice excuse to slightly alter my skill points and approach to benefit the different weight classes of armor and their unique skill abilities(plus witnessing the aesthetics improve with each upgrade tier).

But yea, it made everything else in the world entirely worthless(but even Diablo loot gets stale...) Still a sense of actual progression persisted with my approach. (And looting crafting plans were worthwhile discoveries).

I think it suffers from the Mass Effect 1 problem, where you're just getting so much loot all the time, but most of it is garbage. The game doesn't need to have so much loot in the first place, and it'd be better if you generally found things in the interesting locations that were useful (or even just useful to certain builds), and tended to buy the more generic items from smiths.

My few cents:
- Maybe I was playing the game on too easy levels because the drops by enemies were so good that I never had to craft weapons or buy them.
- The amount of useless crap in the map in this game is absolutely ridiculous. Like Ubisoft^10. Yes, you can turn the markers off but they are still there. Especially when the rewards are nearly almost sub par, they are just not worth shit.

Yeah the loot is terrible. Not the only flaw though - It also has extremely mediocre mechanics.

I didn't mind the lack of loot to be honest. In the beginning of the game I found gear that was better than my Witcher's gear but after higher levels my Witcher gear would be better than all other gear and that was fine for me. I don't think this game needs a lot of focus on loot because the story and sidecontent is so good.

I think the loot itself was fine. But it was undermined by the witcher gear, which was so far above anything you could find in the world it made exploration largely pointless.

The same happened in skyrim. You could craft items and armour vastly superior to anything you'd ever find in some cave. So why even go in the cave anymore? Its a problem that persists in all of these types of games. And without going all borderlands with randomised effects and stats and appearances its not something that's easily fixed either.

I know by the half way point I'd been rocking bear, griffin and wolf armour and swords and I never needed anything else again...so I just stopped looting and exploring.

Randomly scavenging the world for random rolls at good gear is a design flaw and weakness found in too many games.

If I want good gear in this game I will complete a quest for something specific and then craft it. At any rate, the focus isn't on getting "loot" but rather engaging with the plot and world - and that's how it should be.

Too many gamers nowadays want games to be about finding stuff instead of using it.

How about using stuff to find better stuff.

Yeah i agree although i still enjoyed exploring everything mostly thanks to the great beauty of its world and its distinct atmosphere and culture. It would have been nice if the game was more rewarding (occasionaly) with its treasure offerings though.

The game has stupid problems first one is the punishment of being overloaded does not effect the combat if it doesn't effect it why should I care second problem thr aggro range of the enemies goddamn stupid
