The Witness on PS4: A progress report

Release it when its done..Sounds good to me and I really like the look of this.

but..

how do you pay wages for an increasing length of time without income. doesnt there come a point where you have to release it where it is at ?

Really looking beautiful. This will hopefully be the kind of game in which the player takes his/her time and just soaks in the atmosphere while exploring, the way we used to do in some adventure games.

1080p and 60fps in most sections. I thought a puzzler or any indie game would be able to do that the whole game on PS4. This gen really is underwhelming if indie games are also not able to do what I thought would be standard for at least indie games.

Y'know, it still takes actual effort on the part of the designers to accomplish. You still have to gate and design the world so the whole thing isn't loading at the same time. They'll get there.

When all you're doing is driving a line puzzle, that movement needs to be as satisfying as possible. 60 will be really pleasant for it.

COD: Ghosts had framerate issues on a Titan at launch. Does that mean the performance of a Titan is underwhelming? Optimization happens with every game, regardless of platform.

I wonder why this is only posted by fanboys in articles where the game isn't 1080P/60 FPS.

Oh right I answered my own question...Fanboys.

Boy, do you not understand what you're talking about. Don't let that stop you from offering cogent technical analysis like this in the future.

And all this time I thought they'd just push the optimize button on the keyboard.

Nice visuals! Im expecting this one!
It remember me of RIME, that also was looking awesome! Hope both shows up again on E3.

This has been a day 1 game for me for a while now. Hope it releases this year, but from the sounds of it, I would not be surprised to see a 2015 release now.

5 year development time and counting eh? I'm assuming Blow is putting all his eggs into this being a success then.

I think he made some comment about him spending all the Braid money (about 4 million) on it, but adding the caveat that if the game is unsuccessful, it would be fine because he would just get a day job and make another smaller game.

Basically, it seems like he doesn't stress too much about the sales.
