Teehee, your Shu avatar works perfectly with that image~ =)

Out of curiosity, what are the chances of this actually selling somewhat decently?

Well, Square Enix keeps making and pricing games like this, so they must be at least somewhat happy with the results.

I think FF III got like 80 000 downloads on Android since it was released for 13 euro. Thats a million euro for a simple upscaled port of a game that was developed ages ago. So I think it works find for them. To be honest, I'm pretty sure we'll see FF IV and KH ports soon and I'm also pretty sure if Nintendo wasn't so crappy with their online system this would be on the eShop as well.

FFIII had sold about 50000 copies in Google Play two weeks after launch, which is slightly lower than what FFIII had sold on iOS at the same time after release, and they said those were favorable results. Both versions probably have sold a bunch of more thousands of copies considering they are among both platform's top sellers...
TWEWY will probably sell more or less the same.

Yeah, is it out?
Not yet.

Final Fantasy is a known IP. TWEWY is not. Expecting the same is not reasonable at all.

Can't speak for iOS, but FFIII for Android has been a modest success since its release, despite being priced at $15.99. 100,000+ downloads according to Google Play, it was up in the Top 10 grossing apps for a while, though now it has fallen to around 28 in the Top Grossing list.

Yochi Wada read on GAF that portable gaming is dead because everyone has a smartphone, so he's only trying to be nice and let those people keep playing the games that they released year ago.

It would be oddly hilarious if this ends up on Vita. It should play just fine. Then we could all watch as the Vita also gets TWEWY2.

It should actually play much better on Vita than on iOS thanks to buttons and back touchpad.

I think I would have been okay with this port if they didn't have a 1 week teaser site dedicated to its release. :/ Also I know it's Square Enix but augh that price.

Actually I think it would have been a good news, if they didn't have that teaser up.

People definitely wouldn't be as mad as they are right now if they had simply announced the thing without the teasing.

Looks good, price is kinda ridiculous for IOS game but no BS IAP on release day seems to even it out. Interested if it is pretty on a retina Ipad.

A few questions:

- Is this game (original) any good?
- Why are folks so mad?
- Couldn't they have made it split screen on ipad?
It's a pretty fun game. One of my favorite. There is a bit of hump some people find themselves having to go over at first in the beginning, but when it clicks it becomes a very satisfying experience. If you can I would reccomend looking into the original DS version.

They were expecting/hoping for a sequel.

Maybe, but that's less screen for you to work with I guess. Maybe they were trying their best to lessen the initial hump new players experience that I mentioned.

Aw, I was out and missed the announcement. Probably for the best considering how thick the raging was already in the previous thread, but now I kind of want to backtrack to see the tears. Lmao @ the dislikes on the youtube video.

I'm ok with this port. Curious to try it and see how it plays, I'll buy it because it's TWEWY so yeah, I'm part of that 2% of previous fans who played the original to death and are still interested in this. Even if it ends up being a failed experiment I'll always have my beloved DS cart to go back to.

Price was expected too considering their other iOS offers. I'm glad they didn't go too crazy.

RARGGHHHHAAARGHHHH WHAT THE HELL!!!!!

Nah, can't be too upset at the outcome, thankfully Kagari helped temper my hype.
But look at that gross filter they put those lovely sprites through, ewwww.

Well, all my fears are gone. I mean, yeah they changed the battle system, but it's for the best. I can't see how they could have handled dual screen/controls on iOS.

The game looks great, judging by the trailer. Not "HD redrawn" great, but still great.
I won't double dip though, but I encourage anyone interested in the game to buy it if the "remake" doesn't suffer from anything bad.

The price is high, I know, but guys this is seriously one of S-E best games ever.

So this is normal for them? :/

I think I would just abandon S-E if it wasn't for Eidos' output this generation. I might have actually bought this if it was $10 max as a universal app.

Yup :)

Over 2k dislikes now, ouch.

I have a large capacity iPad, but seeing how installing that thing it comes out to over 2 gigs seems excessive. If I wanted to straight up listen to the music I'd turn on iTunes and play the songs there. Sheesh. Also, bit concerned about the remixes. Wasn't digging the piece they had on the countdown page. :(

And I'm tired of companies not doing universal apps. But hey, what can we expect I suppose. Dealing with SE. :( I hope it's good though. I never tackled the DS version because when my husband got it, we found out it only had one save file. I wasn't going to, at the end, delete all his hard work of collecting all the pins and stuff in game.
