The Zelda TP pre-launch NON-SPOILER thread (READ BEFORE YOU POSTTTT)

Can anyone confirm whether the open woods are still in the game? By that I mean the huge open forest with 3d trees that Link can run in between/underneath. The first video showed it and a couple early screenshots too.

If this Zelda didn't have woods, it would be the worst Zelda, not the best.

I know it will have woods, but I'm talking about the open ended woods that was originally shown. The N64 Zeldas had woods too, but they were just corridors with tree textures on the walls. Even WW's was not much better (it was still very limited on where you can go).
 
I don't know if this has been posted yet, but the new website has a scavenger hunt. Those Navi fairies (or whatever you want to call them) are scattered around the pages. I took the time to find all of them, and upon clicking the last one, the website changed from the dark twilight background to a beautiful, sunny day outside of the castle. Two boxes popped up with music note symbols and text. I thought they were songs (score!), but clicking the link just directed me to some Nintendo code thing, I think.

Anyone want to help me figure this out?

It's the code that you can use your cellphone to "print" it down from your screen,
and used it for the information from Nintendo Mobile service.

I pumped again for the Gamecube version... man oh man.

I'm not saying which version is superior until I've gone at least a 1/3 of the way through both.

thing is, I might be stuck playing Wii version through composite cables while my Gamecube is equipped with component..........

p.s. the artwork ROCKS, especially the one on the left.

one of the more amazing things about this Zelda and its visuals are, aside from Wii controls, (which don't exist on the GCN ver) is this game is making use of hardware that was built in 1998-2000. the graphics hardware in GCN is close to that of a turbo charged GeForce256 (GeForce 1 / NV10). Flipper is like a higher-clocked GeForce 1 with lower latancy thanks to the memory, but on paper it's not even on par with GeForce 2 in rendering speed, textures, etc.

can you freaking imagine what Nintendo EAD could do on advanced DX10-class hardware? something that's somewhat beyond the G80 and R600 ?

.....was thinking of the next Nintendo that Miyamoto and Iwata have mentioned several times now.... not excited about HD, but would rather see SDTV res but with render-quality graphics, and you can have render-quality graphics without HDTV res. HDTV res doesn't do anything to the actual graphics, not much anyway. Quake3 in HDTV res is still Quake3 but Toy Story the movie at even the low-end of SDTV (less than 640x480p) is still Toy Story the movie.

at that point, Nintendo won't have a choice to go with another super-charged Gamecube, they will need a new architecture, even though it could be completely compatible with Gamecube and Wii titles.


even though Xbox 360 and PS3 are much more powerful than Wii, I'm disappointed for the most part, with their visuals, they're showing far less than what I expected of next-gen, and while I know there's untapped potential in both of those consoles, I don't think we'll see visuals leaps and bounds ahead of what we're seeing now, just new things done. their graphics are far from perfect and makes me think Nintendo made the right choice.

Yeah, I was wondering if that was ban worthy. I just thought it shouldn't be posted here because people are very sensitive. But I don't think it gives away anything in flashing neon letters.

which is why I won't read the manual when i get this game.... the item spoilers are enough to kill me
 
now why the hell are they showing the wii aiming with the nunchuck's analog stick? why are they not showing and explaining pointing with the remote? why?

Maybe because the pointing is intuitive. I believe you can set up the option for what you want to do. Though I don't understand why on earth someone would prefer to use the stick for aiming with this one.

That sucks. I remember getting OoT spoilt back in the day (about Sheik), but I didn't believe the guy at the time.

Id ask you to link me so I could bring the site down, but that wouldn't work bc then Id see them too. SO stupid. The game isnt even OUT yet. These morons should have better sense.

Anyway, obviously Im not planning on looking at the damn manual. The damn things always spoil half the enemies and most of the items.
