I haven't read anything at all about Twilight Princess other than headlines and thread titles and one review (my media blackout powers are strong), so answer me this--does the Wii version have any additional content that the Gamecube version doesn't, or are the controls just different?

I think the differences are:

Widescreen enhancement for Wii and the controls.
 
that cloth map that everyone is talking about... it comes with a guide? Which one is it and will it be availible at launch? Or online?

It's kinda like in Poltergiest, where the mom goes up to Carol-Anne's room after she went into the TV, goes and knocks on the door and thinks it's okay even though everybody has been avoiding the room for a week. As soon as she opens the door, there where retched screams of horror that came out. She falls down and starts crying about how she is soo sorry. Yeah, it's kinda like that. The spoiler thread will take you into the light.

No extra dungeon etc in the Wii version? Wouldn't like that to happen.
I really hope the actual content is identical between the two versions.

There have also been rumours floating around about downloadable content, but there isn't much basis for them. Just Aonuma stating that he would like to do it, if I remember correctly.

I think that's the Prima Official Guide that it comes with. The Official Nintendo Power Guide doesnt come with that(but you get a free Zelda:TP soundtrack & 12 month NP subscription if you do it right). Also, you cant get both until after launch of the game
 
Wikipedia's entry on the game quotes Miyamoto as saying the only differences between the two versions are technical--EGM is cited for this. So Mr. TV Goggles and temjin are right, it looks like--no bonus content in the Wii version.

I won't have time for the game until January 2007, unfortunately. But the Gamecube version is likely to be the one I pick up.
 
I kind of expect nintendo to go Connect24 on zelda, and do some things with it to demonstrate their new service, since this will be the game that has a 95% attach ratio.

(also: wii sports)

cool thanks just found them on eb's site, yeah I think both launch on the 20th... might have to get that Prima one.
 
I remember reading that the Wii vesion will have different puzzles specifically designed to be done with the Wii Remote.

Also, there is a ****er in the 1up review thread who spoiled something about the game. Don't go in that thread, even though it was made clear that no one should post spoilers in it.
