Theme Park DS

Loved that game. I've always been a fan of simulators and I do have to say that visual do add to the overall appeal.

Got the game yesterday, Im playing on Full Sim and running my second park now, blowing all my hard earned cash on a 20k a month research budget :D

It's every bit as compulsive and amazing as it was the day it came out on PC, truly timeless experience.

I did have some DS control problems but once I'd recalibrated my screen it all worked perfectly, I really appricate the fact they made it so you could play right or left handed (ABXY move the camera the same way the dpad does).

BTW Crystal for the win.

I have Theme Park DS and to me it is way too much like the original version on the PS1 for me to have any fun. I'm in my 4th year of play "in game of course" and still have no new rides or shops that weren't in the PS1 version other than that london tea shop. Hopefully more new stuff will show up later on.

New rides in theme park are like having new special building in sim city...not that important.

It's all about managing your stock, shares, rides, staff, suppliers, etc etc.

Looked in 3 different shops today but finally found it in GAME (UK), albeit it was in the stock room.

The game plays excellently, it's totally suited towards the DS and it's about time Theme Park got a bit of an update. It's still the basic gameplay from the old version, but this one seems to focus alot on the micro-management.

The only real downside is the one save file, but if you're not sharing the cartridge it shouldn't really matter. Other than that, I urge every fan of Theme Park (or any sim) should purchase this game, definetly a must-have for the DS.

I'm not really too terribly interested in Theme Park, even though I applaud EA for making some stuff that's definitely really appropriate for the DS (instead of the shitty shovelware they most delivered for the past two years, like Need for Speed and Madden games).

Now, SimCity, on the other hand... that's a day one purchase.

Ditto. I really hope EA put Populous on the DS as well. The way the game board is setup is well suited for the DS as well.

After playing through this on DS I've had so many great memories flooding back into my mind. It's a fantastic game and it's very pleasing to see it moving up the UK chart (No.4 on the DS Top 20 here in the UK, up from No.13 last week). Shame it flopped in Japan...Hopefully it'll do well in the US.

SimCity DS can't come quick enough...

I'm back to Sim because the stock stuff wasn't fun to handle, imo, especially when you sell it fast.

It's a great game though, definately. Controls work perfect and I'm easily playing it for a few hours at once.

I like most parts of the game, but i quite hate it when there are always negotiations. Negotiations = jerk off session on DS screen, u try to rapidly move your hand up and down very fast and draw the opponent's hand to the ideal numbers. =0 One rapid speed, i have negotiations every 2 - 4 minutes....hand cramps >.<

One question to ask the pros thou, how do i solve the problem of people walking too far? Place more amenities and stalls throughout the park?

Oops, another question: Does the "design" and aesthetics of a roller coaster or water ride matter whether it is attractive? It seems to me people are having quite alot of fun just with a water ride 3x5 squares big. If i can save more space, all the better =)

Finally got round to picking this up last night. Sat and played it for a good few hours.
The memories came flooding back, i used to love this game, and i can see myself getting addicted again.

That damn snake slide though. I stay on top of my maintenance, but i had 2 slides explode last night :lol

I'm still trying to figure out how the stock market works. It's weird. I made a fortune on my first 3 parks. The stocks kept splitting (from the original 9 or so shares I bought) and I ended up with a stock market value in the millions.

My last few parks have been unable to generate this stock market effect, though they were all profitable year to year. The value of my stocks however simply stayed flat.

Damn, I want to buy a DS-game after such a long time and Theme Park looks and sounds perfect, but now I'm torn between Theme Park, Cooking Mama and Anno 1701.
