There are multiple endings in RESIDENT EVIL REVELATIONS 2 (mark all spoilers)

Yeah I was so ready to write this game off based on the previews like "going back to the roots of survival horror huh? Looks like action-packed guns ablazin pew pew kill all the monsters to me!" But it def isn't that. It's really good. I feel like if they keep this up I'll be back to looking forward to RE games again.
My first impression of RER2, based on previews, was I thought Moira and Natalia looked like terrible characters. To my pleasant surprise, they ended up being two of my favorites. All of the characters are wonderfully well-done, but those two especially surprised me. Love Moira and love Natalia. <3

I really don´t know what to think about that ending, was it great? was it silly? maybe both?
Maybe the idea of little natalia being the new villain is kinda dumb, will she appear in RE7? Or maybe the story in the revelations games will never touch the main games and she will only appear in Rev3.
They did a great tribute to barry,he was pretty awesome and funny.
Claire was kinda meh
although her new looks in ep4 are totally rad,it was like a mix of helena and ada haha
It´s definitely better that rev1 except for being too easy and the annoying stuttering(maybe this is only happening to me,i dunno)
Ep4 was the best imo, although the fight against
Neil
was pretty awesome.

Claire being voiced by the same actress who voices Palutena is kind of amazing to me.

And Barry's actor just nails it. Perfect mix of ham and cheese... Dad humor... And badass with a heart of gold. :)

The fact that this thread exists just highlights the stupid design decisions that capcom so frequently makes.

PSA: The extra eps are garbage.

He does the same goddamn voice in every piece of media he's in.

This was so much true for me as well

Without spoiling anything, the good ending could be setting up the next RE (or several!). While RE6 is chronologically next, RER2 plants some very interesting seeds that will no doubt bear fruit... perhaps RER3, if not RE7 itself.

Am I the only one who finds Moira cringeworthy ?
She starts as a the rebellious teen trying to get on her dad's nerves, but really matures by the end of the game. Well, her attitude, at least. The juvenile swearing remains, but the game is self-aware of it, with her trying to clean up her language around children, and (end game spoiler)
Barry not minding anymore at the end, and even swearing himself in joking fashion, just to show none of that superficial shit matters anymore
. She ended up being one of my favorite characters.

She eventually just becomes the normal, endearing cringeworthy you've come to expect from RE characters.
Yeah, Moira is fine. :)

A character that really surprised me in Natalia. I thought she'd be a creepy "Shining" stereotype, but she's a truly lovable character who brings out the nurturing qualities in Barry.

Has the PS4 version been patched for fix the framerate yet?
There was a performance patch for the PS4 version a couple days ago. In the OT, people are saying it improves the framerate in Barry's Episode 1 (the woods at night) and other areas with lots of effects. I have the PS4 version and think it looks great. Smooth framerate, clean image quality, nice lighting model.

And last night, the PC version received a performance patch, as well. It's said to run 60 fps in nearly all areas now.

Thanks, The outdoor areas were nearly slideshows for me at some points. I'm on Episode 3 now, hopefully it applies there too.

Slideshows? I played through nearly the entire PS4 version pre-patch, and nothing ever approached "slideshow" for me. The framerate was always smooth. Even if it was lower at points it maintained that rather than vacillating up and down.

I guess each player's mileage will vary based on how they play? At any rate, it should be fixed now. :)

Huh, I was not aware there was a choice there. Looks like I'm already on track for the "good" ending - not sure how one would miss that, I simply followed the on-screen prompts.

Hyperbole for sure, sorry about that. It was just very choppy for me, almost stuttering when outside in some areas. Indoor areas are mostly good except for stuttering during the transition between rooms, when going through doors.

I understand. For my part, I've noticed that brief split-second stutter when walking through doors to new areas. Sometimes it seems to correspond with the saving icon.

Huh. Apparently RER2 is a good game. Did not know this! Maybe I will check it out then.
In the OT, many old-school and new-school RE fans are ranking it among the all-time greats. For many people, they rank it right after RE4, RE1 and RE2. Some people, like myself, consider it their second favorite after RE4. (I've always preferred the newer REs)

Definitely check it out. The quality is there, and it's a very generous package for the price.

I didn't even know there was a bad ending, the part mentioned in the OP I just assumed to be a normal QTE.

"[Button]Switch characters" is in plain view.

Eh, it's ok.

Neiteio is to Resident Evil what Huelen is to Sonic.

I think it's a better game than the first one, certainly, but it's not super great or anything.

Oh come on

If you've been following the OT, nearly everyone is saying what I'm saying, including the most ardent RE1-3/CV fans.

Do I need to post a 10-mile-long multi-quote?

Nah, let him make up his own mind and ease up on the sales pitch, I just wanted to get my opinion in as well.

How's this for an olive branch: if you like Resident Evil, I would certainly recommend getting the game.

I mean, yeah, ultimately each person will form their own opinion. I'm not telling anyone how to feel. I never am.

I just post about things I passionately believe are excellent. You can see that as a sales pitch, or you can see it how I see it, which is a desire for people to try things I believe will make them happy since they made me happy. :)

In this case, I think there's a lot to love here, and it seems many others share that sentiment.

It's also totally ok to be sexually attracted to Tobey Maguire.

Just for the record.
I'll admit I see both him and Scarlett Johannson in Claire.

You have no idea how much this confuses me.

(I suddenly feel like re-watching Spider-man 2)

Well, I remember seeing some screenshots where the UI looked like COMPLETE ass, and between that and the OT title I was under the impression that... it wasn't so hot. I probably will check it out then.

You can always try the first episode for $6. Given that it also comes with 54 Raid missions, that's a lot more substantial than a demo. And it still allows you to try it without committing to the full package. If you hate it... well, it does get better, episode by episode, but yeah. You'll still have an idea.

I never noticed the UI. It's orange and fairly minimalist. My negative impression of the game, prior to its release, was I thought Moira looked like she was on stilts (now I like her legs, lol), and I thought Natalia looked like a cliche -- the creepy apparition-like girl, straight out of "The Shining." But Natalia quickly becomes a very endearing character that brings out the nurturing father in Barry.

Also, before the game came out, I wasn't interested because I thought the setting looked generic -- after all, gritty prisons are a dime a dozen in horror movies, etc. But the prison setting is actually rather unique on a room-by-room basis, and it's only there for the first episode. The island as a whole offers some Dear Esther-esque beauty, with fishing villages and fog-wreathed shorelines. You have dense woods that you explore at dawn and after dusk. You have a derelict town that is like porn if you're into urban decay, calling to mind the ruins of Chernobyl. The Soviet setting, in general, gives this game a fresh feel, with a lot of detail that makes it feel real and lived in.

So yeah. All of my concerns were unfounded. I really enjoyed the characters and world, despite my apprehension going in. :)

Moira is probably my favorite "new character" since Ada in RE2.

This game... and I haven't seen the bad ending, just got the good one naturally, but that was one of the most satisfying climaxes I've ever played in a videogame. It's really great and I'll be replaying the hell out of this one.

Agreed. The home stretch is just perfect. Very substantial, too. :)

Also, I just noticed someone edited out the "PSA" in the thread title, lol.

Just did the two extra episodes, "The Struggle" and "Little Miss." A great way to follow-up a great ending. Definitely recommend checking them out.

F that not restarting that Episode 3 Boss fight...it was confusing at the end with the stupid QTE...all I saw on screen was switch character? or something,no idea what was going on and it seems I got the worst ending at the end of EP.4...I could probably easily miss what to do exactly at the end of the Boss fight again to get the good ending...

Well, if you saw it tell you to switch characters, didn't you think there might be a reason for that?

When Claire is pinned at the end of Episode 3, switch to Moira when the game tells you (in bold letters in the middle of the screen), and crawl forward.

Also, if you replay Ep 3, just run past all of the enemies if you want to knock it out quick.

I suspect that some of the people who miss the prompt to switch to Moira are mashing too quickly during the part where Claire is pinned at the end of Episode 3. I'm not sure, but it might be possible to outpace that prompt. Perhaps Capcom should release a patch that makes the prompt appear a second sooner, so more people realize you're encouraged to switch characters at that point.

Maybe, yeah, I thought from a story perspective they already telegraphed the whole gun situation with Moira pretty hard, so I already figured something would come up with that.

Same. I would think most people would realize it's an important Moira moment, but at the same time I can see how some would interpret it as a Claire QTE.

BTW, I just noticed, on the Episode Select screen, under Campaign, you'll know you're on track for the good ending if, when highlighting your rank for Episode 3, you see a faint image of Moira in the lower right-hand corner.

I imagine that if you're on track for the bad ending, it'll probably show Claire instead. Can anyone confirm this?

It shows both Claire and Moira for me. Probably because I unlocked both endings already.

However the portraits do seem to rotate.

So, how does this work in co-op?

My fiancée and I like playing Resi together if possible, so will that make it easier or harder to get the good ending?
