They Worked On WHAT?! Shocking Credentials of Game Devs

Wow, Iwata sounds like a fantastic programing genius, lol. Props to him!

The artist behind Chrono Cross' characters is Nobuteru Yuki.

His other credentials:
  • Solatorobo
  • Record of Lodoss War
  • The Vision of Escaflowne
  • Heat Guy J
  • Battle Angel Alita
  • Space Battleship Yamato 2199

Hmmm, I never put much of this together. That's pretty awesome, and explains why I love CC work so much...

Takayoshi Sato of Silent Hill 1 and 2 fame wound up at EA for a spell and then worked on games in the serious games genre for a company in North Carolina.

As one living in NC, that's pretty cool.

Hardly mind-blowing or obscure, but I booted up a fresh save file on my Shining Force II cart and I thought to myself "why does this feel so familiar?" (setting aside, of course, the fact that I've played it before).

After a quick Wiki search, apparently Hiroyuki Takahashi created both the Shining series and Golden Sun, another one of my favs.

The first time I saw the icons, battle screens, and overall look of Golden Sun, I knew there has to be some SHINING involvement! I just wish we'd see even more games with the signature style... including more Shinings, Golden Suns, and any offshoots they'd like to make (that aren't on phones / tablets...)

Rouge Legacy was the second game made by Cellar Door, the first being Don't Shit Your Pants. An interactive text adventure about not shitting your pants.

Sleeping Dogs is done by the same guys as Bully when they left Rockstar, and it shows.

I just recalled one: reading Hardcore Gameing101's giant article on the Mother series and how Earthbound was in development hell for like 4 years. It looked like it was never going to be released, until a programmer came in at the last minute to fix everything. That programmer was Sotaru Iwata.

He also compressed so well Pokemon Gold/Silver he could add Red/Blue's island, and they actaully did that.
EDIT Beaten!

I'm glad Sawano is doing the music for X. The soundtrack for Gundam Unicorn is very good.

As for the topic, Marty Friedman (former Megadeth) helped with the guitar tracks on Bravely Default. You can watch him playing it here.

The composer from Skyrim got his start on Secret of Evermore.

Yea, Jeremy Soule and he has been pumping out hits from start to finish. Like the Baldur's Gate series. The man has serious talent. He was actually an employee of Square. He left them, like so many, when the Gooch got ousted and Wada began his dark reign.
