The first time I saw the icons, battle screens, and overall look of Golden Sun, I knew there has to be some SHINING involvement! I just wish we'd see even more games with the signature style... including more Shinings, Golden Suns, and any offshoots they'd like to make (that aren't on phones / tablets...)

Takayoshi Sato of Silent Hill 1 and 2 fame wound up at EA for a spell and then worked on games in the serious games genre for a company in North Carolina.

Hardly mind-blowing or obscure, but I booted up a fresh save file on my Shining Force II cart and I thought to myself "why does this feel so familiar?" (setting aside, of course, the fact that I've played it before).
After a quick Wiki search, apparently Hiroyuki Takahashi created both the Shining series and Golden Sun, another one of my favs.
