This is getting f!@#$%^& ridiculous -- still no Wii

absolutely!!11!!1!

by the way guys, I think we should talk about 3rd parties on The wii. I think it really is of concern to have so much shovelware from 3rd parties and the situation is not improving. Do you guys think the 3rd parties will finally "get it" ? oh...when will the 3rd party situation improve?? will it ever improve? I wonder.

GOD WHY DID I BUY THIS THING. I BET YOU NINTARDS CAN'T EVEN TELL ME ONE DECENT GAME ON IT.

[I should note: I hate Mario, Metroid, Zelda, Smash, Wii Sports, and 3rd party games not in HD]

No More Heroes is amazing. So you have no excuse for not touching your Wii since SMG.

Zelda, Mario Strikers, Zack and Wiki, Elebits, Super Paper Mario, Wario Ware, two Trauma Center games, and the under-talked about Monkey Ball, which was very fun.

That's a good first year lineup. No, it's not the 360 lineup, but no kidding. The 360's lineup is just amazing and it's been out a year longer.

But to say PS3 has a "much better lineup" than the list of games I just mentioned is pretty laughable.

heh, not to mention oh, i dunno, a lil game called super smash bros brawl that is sopose to come out next month. Seems people are making such a big deal about this game, i just might, and this is a big might, have to check it out. Maybe i'll rent it first.

Wii Play and Red Steel are pretty good (Red Steel is in HD). You should buy those.

But Red Steel has waggle controls. I HATE WAGGLE CONTROLS!

Thats it! I'm selling this thing. At a loss!

It's not like the increase from 1 million/month to 1.8 million/month they've already done is nothing.
Well, he obviously means that they haven't done anything since the increase to 1.8 million.

And when they increase it to 2.1 million per month, he'll ask about the next increase to (2.4? 2.7? 3 million fucking consoles per month?), angrily shaking his fist in the general direction of Nintendo HQ.

I hear Gamestop gives at least $50 store credit for it. $10 for their trade in deal.

And up to $3.30 if you have an edgecard for Wii Sports.

Well my point was games that are already out since he said 360 and PS3 had "much better lineups", but yeah.

They dont know wether they should increase the production even more, which given the situation should be an obvious task.

So you're telling me if I trade in this god forsaken system, I could buy one true next-gen game? Wow. I really don't see how the Wii is going to last when it can so easily be replaced by real videogame systems.

Wii failure CONFIRMED.

Unless this is all sarcasm, you're not going to last very long around here.

I'll take that as a sign that I've done something truly terrible and quietly back away from this thread.

I haven't seen a Wii in months. If I can't walk into a store and buy one at my leisure by the time a decent emulator for playing the games on a PC appears I'll likely just go that route and never purchase the actual console. I'll probably also buy any games for it used just to make sure I'm not sending Nintendo any money for my troubles.
You're going to be waiting a very long long time.

I really sorry Mr OP. BUT UR NOT TRYING HARD ENOUGH.

IF you love your niece you will:
- Camp out for days on Wii stock rumours
- Swap naked pictures of your wife/gf on GAF to posters for a PS^H^H Wii
- Possibly wait at a Wii queue in a cap and do a driveby with a pellet gun

Yeah, the wii shortage problem is starting to piss me off ! My dream is to get USA-version of Wii but they are sold out in every netstore and in ebay they cost like hell... Why can't USA be more like Finland we have Wiis in every store.

And Brawl is yet to come so i guess no NTSC gaming for me :(.

I want my USA wii now !!!

20 million people all over the world, many of them casual gamers, already have a Wii, and you, a friggin' NeoGAF-posting supposedly-hardcore gamer, can't even get one?

That's weak.

Have you tried craigslist? I always see Wiis selling for either retail price or slightly higher (like $10-$20 higher) on my local craigslist.

Do what this man says, people on Craig's List usually have souls unless they are bots for porn. Even then they will still only see you a Wii for $10 more than the price or so.

I can't find one for my sister either. Its very frustrating, i hear about places having them in stock, i would call and they would tell me they can't hold them so by the time i get there, its all gone.

I'm in Europe

Just order it on Amazon already. No, you will not have it the next day, but they'll stuff you in a queue and do a first-come-first-served thing. Their turnover of these things is significant and steady, and you will get one after a while. Beats asking around in stores for months on end.

It's pretty ironic - Nintendo has pumped Europe full of Wiis, but keeps the games at bay ( I'm looking at you, Brawl release-date! ). It is like throwing a needle to a junkie with no juice inside.

I do believe that an considerable amount of Wii's headed for USA went to other countries instead of USA.
Much of this is due to the smuggling of wii's into countries that have no distributor yet, i.e. Hong Kong.

How i came to this idea is because I got my US set in hong kong, where they are pretty abundant in shops, so....being part of the problem, lemme offer my apologies first >.<

There had been cases where the customs had stopped trucks traveling across the china-hongkong border, smuggling tons of products like iphones, wii's wii fit boards, and stuff like the Viewty phone from LG. Goods that have high demand in Hong Kong, but no distribution set up in place yet.

It's sold out in Melbourne, as far as I know. Who knows when the next shipment will be - I got mine from Myer when it came in (1st Feb) at 9am in the morning - that said the shipment of 20 sold out in 1 hour. Playing Galaxy ATM, it's awesome stuff. Happy to wait for Smash etc (in Euro land) since I'm still into PSP/PS2ing.

Got mine last January after checking GAME for stock every morning for a week. They finally got six in and I waited in the front of a small queue of about six others for an hour to grab one. Wasn't too hard, really. Gamestation never seem to have any in stock, though.

I actually play it far too much to want to re-sell it, it being the only current-gen system I have (unless PS2 still counts) plus it has VC games on it so selling it would mean I lose them anyway. I guess I'm too casual to really care about most of the 360/PS3 "epics" that everyone loves so much. I did re-sell Sonic Secret Rings, Zelda and Raving Rabbids for a profit though. I'll probably pick them up again in the future when they're about £10 each, maybe. Might re-sell Crossbow Training and the Zapper too, doesn't really do it for me.

I got mine from Sam's Club last March. I went there to buy a few groceries I needed for the weekend and saw someone leaving the store with a Wii. I walked inside and saw about 30 of them near the registers. I wasn't even planning to buy a Wii until later, but it was kind of foreign seeing it out in the wild.

Holy crap guys. Maybe you should seriously consider coming to Canada (those near the border anyway), since I always see plenty around here, not that I look every time I go out though. Maybe I should buy a bunch and sell them at eBay for huge profit. :lol This is in Ontario anyway, the US situation must be completely different, since I really have trouble imagining people not being able to find even one anywhere.

Wiis don't exist in Montreal. They're never in stock.

I think I'm the worst Wii owner ever...I have only a few games and the only time I ever really use it is when people come over and get excited about the fact that I own it and proceed to want to play that "sports" game.

I have to get brawl for sure but I usually skip the Wii wall whenever I'm shopping for games...

Due to a ticket SNAFU by a Target employee, I got a Wii for free last year on launch day. At the time, I thought that was pretty awesome. Every time I hear about these shortages, that free system story feels a little bit better. The irony is that it is barely played in my house. :( Hopefully, we will start to see more games that my family can play together. Wii Bowling is played out.

I am amazed that I actually have one.....thankfully over the summer my wife would stop by the gamestop every day during work and was able to find one.....I haven't played it alot, but I am glad I have it for SMG, MP3, ZTP, and NMH
