This is not an ad for the Nintendo 3DS.

Once again, Nintendo gets a c-list celebrity to do something everyone has already done 5 years after everyone did it and looks absolutely stupid in the process. And they wonder why nobody in the industry takes them seriously.
Once again, you takse some C level trolling quips and attempt to unsuccessfully troll a company for no reason whatsoever, and look absolutely stupid in the process. And then you wonder why no one on this board takes you seriously.

I just realized the model in black is Amanda from Survivor.

That was pretty cute. I didn't bust a gut or anything, but I like advertising that tries not to be offensive with its message.

And thankfully Nintendo's very brief slide back into Play It Loud territory, with the horrible Golden Sun: Dark Dawn ad, seems to be over. I'll take tons more of this over any more of that.

I've always had a thing for Joel McHale since I first started watching The Soup years ago. Will check this out completely when I get the chance. I've only been able to watch snippets.

I just wanted to say that the gray haired guy in the video is extraordinarily handsome.

Totally. Way hotter than Joel.

That aside, this video was practically GENIUS.
For those that love Community, the humour was spot on.

It was an effortless interplay between the show's metaphysical backdrop with Nintendo's culturally entrenched yet ethereal presence in pop culture.
HOT.

not funny. not clever. not original. batting 0.000

This is shit.

Wow, that was pathetic.

I can't believe this is Nintendo.

Shitty commercial.

hmm - nope, pretty unfunny.

Maybe it's because I'm foreign and I don't get it much, but I just don't find it humorous.

You don't have to be a foreigner to see that this is a garbage campaign.

Just shows how desperate the 3DS situation [particularly software] is in the UK. If the 3DS was not backwardly compatible with DS, Nintendo would be in big trouble.

...And what the hell a commercial with an American actor, from a famous American tv comedy series, has to do with the UK situation of 3DS? Seriously.

Nintendo's handheld market, particularly software, is struggling in the West. Witness Resi Evil: Rev's abysmal performance as evidence. That game was being hyped like there was no tomorrow.

You didn't answer his question at all....

UK does not equal the West.

We don't know numbers, aside from the fact that in US, first year, 3DS sold 9 millions software. Even excluding 3D Land, Zelda and MK, there's a lot of software sold, at least in US. But you even were happy for Revelations mediocre performance, who the hell I'm takling with...

@Truth101: Eeh, there are priorities in life, you know...

I was expecting Reggie to come in at the end, see the unconscious intern on the floor, bikini babes and two blokes dressed up as Mario and Luigi, simply ask "what's wrong with you?" and then do a 360 and walk out.

This is the biggest stretch of logic for an advertisement I have ever seen...

To not say that 3DS and desperate, right now, don't go together AT ALL in Western markets, at all...neither software.

I would vaginally DESTROY the model in the pink bikini.

I liked McHale's delivery in this, so I'm gonna give it my approval. This could have easily come off as cheap and embarrassing if it weren't for him going full-on Jeff Winger.
