Everyone, Everywhere
Cost: FREE
RIYL: Braid, Up Up Down Down, Indie Music Circa 2002 before all the pretentiousness

I should really get around to buying their second one.

Randomly stumbled upon this:

Cave Women - Cave Women
All-female vocal jazz. Still debating if it's worth the asking price but it's not bad, I hear worse on jazz radio.

You had me at Free!

I am positive you will love it Des. Second album is equally as good and they're just asking for $1.

Also, I forgot to say to the girlfriends poster: THANK YOU. SO GOOD!

More:

You Blew It! - Grow Up Dude

RIYL: The descriptors I gave for Everyone, Everywhere above. Also, super-posi music.

Just found that The Legendary Pink Dots are on Bandcamp, with what seems like their entire discography (going back to '83 at least). Don't think I actually heard of them before, but for some reason they seemed notable. They're an interesting experimental psychedlic electronica... thing.

This is so dreamy and different, definitely give it a listen late at night when in a really chill mood.
Like this a lot. HRD always with that good shit <3

In my obsessive search for good 80's style music, I've found a ton of great albums on bandcamp. Will post a few later.

And apparently Toad the Wet Sprocket is on Bandcamp. First two albums, and a collection of re-recorded hits.

They're definitely not the same but I've heard worse 90s alt. rock re-records.

I was thinking about this site today, and how it could really be the best long term threat to itunes in the indie space. I absolutely love the ability to select different formats, as well as the favorable terms for the artists.

As for recent finds:

Yellow6 puts out really good minimalist post-rock/ambient stuff. This record is pay what you want pricing as well! :)

One of the best little bands around, Tashaki Miyaki, has a new free EP of covers out this week. Their version of "All I Have to Do is Dream" has been one of my favorites for several months, and they've got a killer spin on a Roxette classic on this EP.

Someone posted it some time ago in the free music thread already, but I love it so much...

Just wanted to throw some bandcamp love into the thread:

Paypal apparently froze my account because of an old account from many, many years ago. This made it impossible to pay for items on bandcamp, regardless of what credit card i tried. I emailed bandcamp about this, and in less than 24 hours I had someone call from Paypal to tell me that they looked into the matter at the request of bandcamp and have resolved it. :)

Have to love customer service like that!

Band: Temple
Album Title: On The Steps Of The Temple
Album Description: Temple's brooding debut instrumental release "On The Steps Of The Temple" is 53 minutes of towering riffs, crushing drums and compositions that explore many different territories while keeping it's roots deep in heaviness.

Holy fucking shit.

Murder By Death - As You Wish: Kickstarter Covers
we did a crazy kickstarter in July of 2012. One of the high-pledge options was for folks to choose a song for us to cover. A huge variety of songs got picked by people from all over, and we went into the studio in December to record them. We had 15 songs we needed to cover and learned, reworked, recorded and mixed them in a sleepy whiskey-fueled 13 days. Some were silly songs, some classics. It was a riot to learn and record them. As of now there are no plans to release them on any format other than digital and our bandcamp site is the only place you can get 'em.

1. NEVER TEAR US APART By INXS
2. LITTLE RED RIDING HOOD by Sam The Sham and the Pharoahs
3. KISS by Scout Niblett
4. NEW COAT OF PAINT By Tom Waits
5. JUST DROPPED IN By Kenny Rogers
6. NEEDLE IN THE HAY By Elliott Smith
7. WHAT A WONDERFUL WORLD By Louie Armstrong
8. TURN THE LAMP DOWN LOW By The Tea Party
9. WE ARE THE ROAD CREW by Motorhead
10. RUM TO WHISKEY by Murder City Devils
11. SOME KIND OF HATE by The Misfits
12. UNSPOKEN By Weezer
13. HOLD ON By Wilson Phillips
14. DESPAIR RIDDEN HEARTS By Sentenced
15. FLIP by Lucky Jukebox Brigade

THE WILSON PHILLIPS COVER IS AWESOME

I'm happy to announce a preview's been uploaded for one of my pet projects: NeoGAF Volume One!

1892819435-1.jpg

GAF's got all sorts of history and I thought it'd be interesting to make a soundtrack for it. If it ends up being popular and praised well enough, I would continue to make additional volumes. I'm currently hoping for a fall release with 20 tracks so any donations help, but the previews are free of course.

It takes inspiration from a variety of genres but most of it undoubtedly sounds video gamey and ambient. It's also trying to pull the whole "seamless transition from track to track" thing that Harmony of a Hunter: 101% Run did.

How come no one told me that Magic Man is putting out new music? Goddamit Toma! 2 new songs and they sound amazing.
