Throwback Thread: Forum Signatures (56k warning?) lol

I'm here today to rock everyone's world with a blast from the past. I was looking through my old Photbucket account and started reminiscing hard about signatures when I saw them in my gallery. I'm sure most of you internet dwellers remember signatures during the early forum days when everyone had to have one. I remember seeing them for the first time and thought to myself "hey these are badass" and wanting to learn how to make them which I ended up doing. Managed to start off on my journey by downloading and working with Coral Paint Shop Pro (which sucked when it came to making signatures.)

This is the first one I managed to make and I have to say I was darn proud of it back then but looking back on it now, just straight up lol

Ended up progressing a little more with this (don't mind the weaboo name)

After scoping around, I found out you could add gifs to them :O

One thing I noticed after being on the forums for a while was that other people's sigs always ended up looking waaaay better. I came to find out the reason why was because of Photoshop. I was able to downloaded Photoshop CS ( don't ask how) and man was I ecstatic. It was much better than Coral and the tools that I had at my disposal were a godsend.

That was my first result and comparing it to what I had previously made, it was like 100x better. I managed to make some more after getting the hang of it and wanted to share those as well.

Sadly, I fell off of it once I stopped browsing forums and don't even remember how to make them. In that time I'm sure there have been a ton of better onesand wouldn't mind seeing them. So GAF, if you have any you made or ones made for you why don't you post them below so we can reminisce and see the awesomeness that were signatures (if people still make them in 2017 even better :D.)

I wish I could remember the login into my photobucket as that is where most of my stuff is.

I mostly made them while browsing NSider. It was a peculiar period of the internet. Fun times.

I remember my friend showing me GAF in early 2000s and coming from predominantly anime boards, thinking how strange it was that a lot of the avatars weren't anime or game-based and being surprised by the lack of signatures.

I think there were signatures on GAF back then....?

When I first started reading GAF, I thought it was so dumb that they didn't have signatures on there.

Oh, younger me. How dumb you were.

At this point forums in general and signatures in particular have gotten so drastically scaled back it's weird to find a site that still allows massive garish ones.

I really hated forum signatures. So spammy and annoying. Sure, there were cool ones, but most of them were dumb.

I remember the official Wii U Nintendo dev forum allowed for signatures. Most people of course used it to link to their thread there showing off their work in progress games/etc. Except for 1 guy who used it like his own personal blog/ign board and had anime shit in it and height of it above 200 pxs.. lol. Thank god the new Nintendo dev area doesn't allow for signatures.

Who could forget the Visitor font. I made signatures elsewhere, they weren't here by the time I joined.

Still rocking this bad boy on another forum.

Feels weird seeing a character made post 2005 on one of these banners (I mean, Skullgirls was an idea that was kicked around for years, but Filia wasn't a well-known character outside Alex Ahad's DeviantArt Scraps page until 2011 IIRC).

A few years ago I wanted a throwback to all the ridiculous signatures you'd see back in the day so I had my friend whip one up with China Girl from Oz, Filia, and a very specific frame of Chun-Li from Saki's Tatsunoko vs. Capcom ending. Add a completely irrelevant quote and voila, the perfect sig.

I have a little bit of nostalgia for all the big signatures I used to see in forums I visited often back in the day, but if there's one thing that made me unreasonably annoyed was seeing signature and image credits for the people that made them. When I say unreasonable I mean it, I don't know why that made me so mad.
