Stumbled upon this earlier the user bloodhawk over there has set up an eGPU system with a Thunderbolt 3 hardware dev kit.

It's pretty cool to see.

Not very portable though :P

Here's details about the dev kit used:
The InXtron HDK - TB3.

Still waiting on a good looking, cheaper alternative to the Devil Box and Razer Core.

I just read up on the Node. Was considering buying two computers in the future, a new MacBook Pro to replace my old one for all my adult stuff, and then building a badass gaming PC for all my gaming stuff. But this will alow me to use the MBP for everything. Gonna get the Node and plop a 1080 in it, and then when I bring my MBP home from work and plug the TB3 cable in, all my gear on my desk will be hooked up through the hub including the 1080, then I just restart in Boot Camp and then I have a badass gaming computer when I'm home.

Sorry for the bump, but has anyone here tried the eGPU cases?

I got a 1080 for research purposes but for mobility, it would be really good to put that card into this kind of case and carry it around between locations instead of a desktop PC.

I want to use it on OS X and Win 10 with bootcamp, so experiences on the stability of this dual boot environment would be great.

Oh, and thanks for the video. Seems to work well enough to try it on a Mac but it doesn't say if extra steps are needed when using on the Windows size of things.
