According to TIME magazine, the 5 new things that will blow your mind are as follows:

1. Boeing's 787 Dreamliner

2. Nintendo's Revolution

3. Proteus Industries' protein-extraction technology

4. Wireless music store

5. IBM's Multilingual Automatic Speech-to-Speech Translator (MASTOR)

On Revolution:

Back when Atari and its one-button joystick ruled, Nintendo devised a two-button controller with a directional thumb pad. Then came action-sensitive vibration, wireless connectivity and an analog stick for 360˚ steering. Now the company hopes to shake things up with a wireless controller for next year's Revolution console that will allow players to apply real-world physical experience to games. The one-handed grip has motion and position sensors, so if you're playing a Ping-Pong game, you just flick the controller like a paddle. Or, to shoot, take aim and tap a button. For more elaborate games, a second piece with analog stick and two triggers (for that extra itchy finger) can be connected.

Well, to be fair, hardware and software have to be tightly connected... almost made for each other. That's how you get legendary games.

It also promises greater passenger comforts. Cabin pressure will be closer to sea level, easing pressure buildup in the sinuses and ears. Humidity will be set at 15% to 20%, rather than around 5%.

I have a big problem with the air pressure levels in most Airplanes, it gives me headaches that make plane trips something I never look forward to. Not to mention that the last thing I want to inhale under that low pressure is that damn dry air. Looks like I'll be requesting to fly on that plane no matter if more expensive.

Two thoughts:
1. If the Revolution really does hit it big with the mainstream, GAF will implode. What good is rooting for Nintendo if they're popular?
2. They REALLY ought to just name the goddamn thing, now that TIME-fucking-magazine is just openly referring to it by its codename. THIS IS NOT HOW YOU BUILD A BRAND. Dammit.

1) I think people will start playing games at that point. heh.
2) The odds of the name *not* being "Revolution" are pretty close to zero at this point. The name is catchy and everyone knows it by that, they will most likely keep it like they did with Nintendo DS.

Yeah, but that's pretty much undermined by them removing the Revolution name from the console for TGS.

Also, I don't think anything with 4 syllables can be considered catchy. And generally it's a good idea to be aggressive with your marketing and your PR speak, but not with the names of your products. Understatement has its place, too.
