Titanfall PC Performance Thread

Anyone with an HD6850 that can comment on performance? Really wanting to get this for the PC since I don't have an Xbone but hate playing PC games if I can't have everything maxed with good fps.

Well a friend of mine has a 6850 MSI Cyclone OC and says he can play it pretty much at 60fps during gameplay with a mix of middle and high settings but I can't give much more info on that before tomorrow :/

In truth, the game seems very poorly optimized. THings like the install size and how much VRAM this uses are really irking me. It's not even that much of a looker.

It only uses a ration of my 2nd GPU and still has some odd drops and I have 2 OC Edition 780ti's.

Word. SLI scaling seems borked in this game. Thankfully they're working in fixing it, my other titan is barely doing anything.

i7-920 @ 3.0GHZ
32GB Ram
2 x GTX Titan

Settings are maxed out at 1440p, solid 60fps. Has some dipping here and there, probably optimization issues.

Doesn't feel like I'm getting the performance I should with this rig, but this game does feel unoptimized.

Umm.. CPU?

Intel i7-3930 @ 4.8ghz
16GB Ram @ 2133mhz
Dual 680 classified's @ 1350/7200 (overvolted/od'c) 4GBvram
64bit W7

Everything maxed @1080p. Runs between 67-82 (I run at 82hz) on one gpu, uses up to 4000mb~ vram.
SLI doesnt work, nor do the fixes ive tried posted here. Guess I'll be waiting for Respawn's fix :<. Game tends to stutter noticeably on certain maps, like lagoon for example, but I think that's due to vsync or the game itself ala poor optimization. Audio cuts out once in awhile for a split second, but nothing major. Everything else seems fine.

A valiant effort but less-than-enjoyable on:

i7 720QM @ 1.6
nVidia GT 330m
4 GB RAM

I turned down to low (med textures) and enjoyed several matches--and even kicked some ass--but returned the game because it just wasn't acceptable performance-wise.

FPS in the mid teens to high twenties, even gimped to 1024x768.

A cautionary tale for those with older laptops.

Up to now, I've run games the can-I-play-it sites said I could not, but at last, it is time to upgrade.

Fun game!

A friend of mine is having issues even launching the game. The exact same issue occurred in the BETA also, maybe you guys will know a fix? God I hope so...

So when double-clicking the desktop shortcut (or directly from Origin), the sync process appears and finishes and where the game should launch, the sync bar appears again as if he's quit the game. During this time he sees no error or no crash.

He has checked the event log and there are no errors relating to the problem. He has tried stock video card drivers along with beta drivers. He has launched the game with a -window command after the target, still no luck.

His specs are:

Corsair Carbide CC500R Black
4G AMD R9-290X Gigabyte
CPU i7-4820K
Asus Sabertooth-X79
16G Kit 1600(8Gx2) Corsair Vengeance
Samsung 840 EVO Series SATA3 500Gb SSD
Corsair CWCH H110
Antec HCG-Modular 850M
Logitech K290
27” 2ms Asus VE278H

The CPU that he listed should be more than enough. It's an i7.

Nope. Gotta disagree. Will be cpu bottlenecked, especially by the low 3.0 clock speed, but that will also depend on the game. I went from an i7 975 extreme to an i7 4770k and I saw a massive jump in performance in many of my games. I have two 680's in SLI, so the two Titans will definitely be bottlenecked by his cpu.

64-bit windows?

Aren't you cpu bottlenecked there? Isn't that cpu holding back the true potential of two Titans?

Sure, the 920 is old and it does hold the Titans back somewhat but I doubt Titanfall is a game that's heavily CPU bound.

sorry but 2 GTX TITANS? Who are you NASA? ; )

GTX 780, i53570 runs 60 fps smooth 1080p maxed out.

It's mostly for GPU rendering, the Titans are insane when you pair it with CUDA software.

Get that to 4Ghz or at least 3.8 or get rid of it!

I'd love to man, but living in Malaysia temps can get pretty hot even with decent cooling. Plus the CPU is used mostly for rendering around the clock, 3.0-3.2ghz is the sweet spot for me in terms of stability.

They do bottleneck the Titans for certain games but Titanfall sure doesn't seem like a game that requires massive CPU computations. I could be wrong though..

I should add that I have another rig with a 4770k, should probably swap the Titans in and see if there's any difference. Doubt the performance will change that much, SLI scaling seems to be the issue here.

The 4770k definitely will make a difference, but you may be right in that Titanfall may possibly be gpu bound and not cpu bound, so if that's indeed the case here, then the cpu won't make any difference.

But from personal experience, when I went from my old cpu - i7 975 extreme to an i7 4770k, the performance gains were pretty crazy for certain games with my 680 SLI.

i74770k
8gb Ram
2xGTX780's

Getting 35-55 fps @ 4k with everything maxed. SLI needs a fix ASAP.

Game feels very choppy when SLI is enabled.

Core i5 4570 @ 3.2 Ghz
ASUS GTX 760 2GB
8GB RAM

Originally tried with texture quality on very high but I got tearing and random/jarring framerate drops. Turned it down to high and now it runs 1080p 60fps just fine with everything else maxed. As others have said, forcing vsync through my card's drivers seems to work way better than the in game vsync, which made things jittery.

Overall satisfied but I feel like my rig should be able to handle very high.

From what I played yesterday, I was getting 60fps for the majority of the matches. However near the end I started to notice it dipping to around 50 during titans on titans on titans battles, bots and players running around then back to 60 after wards. I just loaded up titanfall and I got a message saying my memory was low? possible memory leak?

i5-3570k (stock)
MSI 660ti Power Edition(came oc'ed from manufacturer with max boost clock of 1189MHz)
8GB RAM

All settings high with 2xMSAA. These results are from me playing a match of Hardpoint on Relic.

Intel i7 4770K OC to 4.2GHz
GTX 780 3GB
32GB RAM

All max quality at 1080p with 16x CSAA with double buffer vsync. Pretty much 60fps except for one map which I forgot the name where the FPS drops when looking at specific area.

Laptop, 50-80 FPS everything at medium shadows off, no vsync, trillinear, no AA, and native res of 1366x768

Specs:
i7-4700MQ 2.40GHz
NVIDIA GeForce GT755M GDDR5 2GB
8 GB RAM

Runs super smooth and looks more than fine for me, but it's not like I bought this game because of how pretty it looked. Screen tearing is through the roof though.

Runs great in my PC. Higher than 60fps almost all the time at 2xMSAA and 1080p. Mind you, I build this PC when Battlefield 3 came out for around $600, and it still runs like a charm. HD 6950 is the card, which was upgraded to when it came out.

i7-860 (at stock clock: 2.8GHz)
8GB 1600MHz
Radeon HD 5870
Win 7 64-bit

runs great with everything on medium, haven't tested high settings but probably won't anyway.

i5-3570k @ 3.40GHz
8GB RAM
GTX 670

All maxed at steady 60FPS. Occasionally will dip to 50 during massive Titan battles.
Practically the same hardware here, except I have the 4GB 670. There's one map that runs at 55-56 fps fairly consistently, but everything else is smooth sailing. Forcing vsync and triple buffering through NCP.

might be CPU issue or OS, getting 50-60fps constantly, I have a similar setup

Nvidia GTX660 with 335.23 Driver

Win 8.1

Settings:

Resolution: 1920x1080
AA: 2xMSAA
V-Sync Double Buffered
Texture Resolution: Very High
Texture Filtering: Anisotropic 16X

Everything else is set to High

That can't be right. My specs are near identical but I'm still dropping tons of frames on certain maps (Demeter, Cove).

i5-3570k @ 4.2GHz

Everything else high

Running at 60 fps with a few drops at odd points, but nothing else.

2600k
780 Zotac Amp! Edition
12gb RAM
8.1 Pro

Maxed out. Some sections in specific maps cause issues nearly all the time and drop framerate, and I avoid them like the plague. Outside of that, 60fps.

i5 4570
GTX 760 with latest Titanfall drivers
8GB Ripjaws
Win 7

Turned on triple buffering and adaptive v-sync in nvidia control panel, turned off in-game v-sync, 1080p and everything high/textures very high, 4xMSAA. Solid 60fps all the time and no tearing.

GTX-680 SLI (4gb)
Intel Core i7-4770K 3.5GHz
12 gb RAM
8.1 Pro
2560x1600p (16.10/ 30 inch monitor)

Ultra Settings:

Game performance was utter shit for me. I was able to hit 60-65 FPS, but there was constant crashing where the FPS would dip to 30-35 FPS. A lot of screen tearing. The constant crash/dips made the game unplayable (gets really bad on Lagoon and anytime there is a lot of Titans).

Texture: Really High / AA: 2x MSAA / Everything else maxed out).

Finally tried an Nvidia Inspector SLI profile someone uploaded on GAF, and it got my FPS to 80-120 FPS. Game still dips to 45 FPS, and has some screen tearing. But it's no where as bad. Had to mess around with the V SYNC + tweaks with this profile. Now the game is playable, but performance is still pretty piss poor.

I also am getting a HIGH usage of VRAM. 2.5gb-3gb. Which is odd, because Crysis 3 @ 1600p Ultra Settings was only pushing up against 2.3 gb of VRAM. I can also hit Crysis 3 & Battlefield 4 Ultra Settings (BF4 80 FPS / Crysis 3 50-60 FPS). This game looks worse than Call of Duty Ghosts, uses more VRAM, and runs much worse. I have no idea why this game runs so poorly. I also find it interesting that so many people are having varying experiences. Can't tell if this is an incompatibility with my rig, or if this game is very poorly optimized. I guess it's probably because I'm gaming at 1600p with an SLI set up (seems like most people that are having a better experience are at 1080p/ single card - or they have ticked down their settings some).

I'm hoping some driver updates will clear some of this up. But I'm very disappointed in this game on PC. Ended up switching over to X1, and it's been smooth sailing (well relatively, X1 version has some tearing, and dips in FPS, but it's night and day compared to my PC experience).

i7 4770k @ 4.2ghz
GTX 770 4gb

Everything's maxed out at 1080p, and I'm receiving a constant 60fps with no screen tearing, but there's still a lot of stuttering that I don't understand the source of. V-sync on or off, it's there. When I finally turned in-game v-sync off in the beta, the stuttering stopped, but I haven't been able to fix it in the full game. It sucks when I'm trying to shoot someone and I can't be precise because the game's stuttering so much.

i5-2500k 4.4GHZ
8GB RAM
GTX780

This game runs appallingly for what it is. It may be the most unoptimised modern game I've played by quite some distance.

I can get 60fps for the most part at 1080p with 8xAA. The shader aliasing is eye ball-laceratingly bad though.

When I downsample from 1404p and reduce AA to x4 I get major screen tear.

Fun game but an embarrassment graphically.

I'm playing it on a ASUS N76VZ laptop from 2012. It features Intel Core i7, 8GB RAM and a GT650M.

Settings

playing in 1080p with almost everything on High Settings, no AA, no VSync and now Shadows. Getting between 40-60fp in the game.

Is that the max you can have effects set to?
Because those hard edge particles look horrible.

Quad Core @ 2.66

4GB Ram
W 8.1

Resolution: 1920x1080
AA: off
V Sync: off
Texture: medium
Texture Filtering: Anisotropic 8x
Other Graphic Stuff: medium / low

The game runs pretty decently at ~40-60fps but I can never get the game to hit a constant 60fps. Even testing the game at it's lowest resolution (4:3, ~1000x700) the framerate plays almost exactly the same as 1080p with almost exactly the same frame rate and the same slow spots. Not sure how that's possible (same issue with RE4).

C2 Duo E8400 3GHZ

GTX 460

Pretty much have everything set between medium and low, v-sync is off. Runs well most of the time but really takes a dive on Lagoon, must be all the water.
