Titanfall PC Performance Thread

Are you serious? i just got a mac pro retina. you're telling me this thing can run it?
Of course. 13 or 15" model?

I'm running 1080p, 90 degree FoV and low settings on my 15" in Windows 7 and get good performance. Might go down to 900p to get perfect 60 fps, will do some tests later.

Upgrade your computer bro.

I get lots of stuttering but it depends on what map. I sometimes just turn off frame counters just so I can not pay attention to the number.

:(

I don't have a frame counter but the stuttering is very, very, very noticeable.

i5-2500K
8gb ram
560ti
1080p

I'm running everything on low and still getting poor performance. Usually in the 30s-40s and it stutters. Sometimes it dips into the high 20s. I know I don't have the best rig, but on low I should be getting better performance than this.

My rig:

AMD FX-8320 stock @ 3.5
8GB RipJaws
GTX 680 @ stock

Solid 60FPS, minus a small, specific dip in the Far Cry-esque map at a certain Hardpoint location...I think Hardpoint C.

Disable vsync if it is enabled

Changing vsync did nothing for me, game still stutters like crazy. I have gotten used to it so I don't notice much anymore :\

Nothing official from us. If you want to try experimental profiles implement them yourself with NVIDIA Inspector. Do not download supposed "beta" drivers, especially if they aren't hosted on nvidia.com, geforce.com, or guru3d.

As stated publicly by Respawn, they are working on a patch to enable official SLI support.

Wouldn't the SLI profile come from NVIDIA and not Respawn?

i5 - 750
6 GB ram
GTX 770 4GB

Insane textures, 4x msaa, v-sync enabled (double buffered) which works for me ( I don't know why).

1080p never dips below 60 fps.

My specs:

i7 920 @ 3.8GHz
GTX 680 2GB 2x SLI
12GB RAM

I am using the SLI "hack" with the Bioshock Infinite compatibility bits. Everything is maxed except textures are set to High and AA is set to 4xMSAA. v-sync is off.

Here are my statistics after a round of Attrition on Lagoon:

RLT4Dkz.png

I haven't played much of the retail release yet, but I have been super disappointed in the performance. My computer should have no trouble at all running a Source Engine game at 60+ FPS all the time.

Is it worth disabling SLI for now? Is there anything else I should try?

Anyone else get frame drops on Lagoon? I pretty much get solid 60 fps with no drops on the rest of the maps I've played but when it comes to this map my framerate tends to drop at times to 40-50.

I have a very hard time taking out enemy Pilots. My ping is very low (like 20-30), and everyone on the enemy team looks like they're stuttering on my screen. This is shown in killcams as well. Fellow pilots on my team are fine.

i5 3570k
8 GB Memory
GTX 660

Anyone else's game crashing often? I didn't have this happen over the weekend, but the past few nights have been full of crashes.

Here are my statistics after a round of Attrition on Lagoon

I know it doesn't really answer your question but Lagoon is one of the worst performing maps in the entire game. Earlier I posted some basic benchmarks but I finally got Lagoon a bit earlier in the evening. It is, by far, the worst of all the benchmarks, dipping to the lowest minimum and the lowest overall average.

Hardpoint Domination on Lagoon:
2014-03-13 17:47:54 - TitanFall
Frames: 37570 - Time: 719633ms - Avg: 48.207 - Min: 20 - Max: 62

Lagoon and Colony seem to be the two worst offenders. I'm not sure there's much that can be done except wait for patches and hope they sort out the issue.

Yeah, I remember reading that lagoon is the worst map in terms of performance. It wasn't really that fun either... although I did get a kill as I was going down a zip line. That was fun.

I'm just baffled as to why the game performs so poorly on high-end PCs. I can play BF4 multiplayer with settings pretty much maxed out and get MUCH better/more consistent performance. BF4 looks significantly better than TF too (not counting art style). At first I thought maybe they focused too much on making the XB1 version run smoothly, but that's obviously not the case.

At least in my case (3x680GTX) the game has better performance with SLI disabled.

But, it have to be disabled in control panel. Using a single-gpu profile is not enough. Using a SFR profile can rise performance in some situations for very high resolutions but there will be slowdonws here and there.

So, sli users, disable SLI in control panel. Using Nvidia Inspector, in TitanFall profile, enable FXAA and force vsync. Use D3DOverrider to force triple buffering. In game menu, use normal textures for 1 gb vram, very high textures for 2 gb vram and Insane for 3 gb or more. Better avoid fraps, msi afterburner, dxtory and other overlays.

Disable MSAA ingame. Screen resolution will stress your gpu, and Shadows quality will stress your cpu. Disabling shadows will make a few of them baked but can double your performance in weak cpus.

GTX 780 OC
4670k @ 4 Ghz
16Gb RAM

Max settings and 8 x MSAA, solid 60 fps no stuttering. Not played all maps yet but very happy so far.

Edit: all maps played many times now and still zero drops.

Anyone with a 2gb GTX 760 tried very high or insane? I'm possibly getting the GPU tomorrow, would be nice to know I guess.

Playing on that at the moment. with Very High textures.

Performance is generally 60fps.

Dips a bit on Lagoon, which is also the worst fucking map in the game in general.

Overall very pleased with performance.
I imagine with patches comes the optimisation as well.

Great to hear! Should be a bit of a upgrade from the low textures, medium low rest I'm playing on currently lol

And yeah, Lagoon dips don't really matter to me, the map's pretty bad and I always leave when it comes on

3570K @4.2 Ghz
8GB RAM
GTX 780
144hz ASUS Monitor

Playing at 1080p with insane textures, 8x MSAA, and everything else cranked to the max. Vsync disabled. Getting flawless performance at 60fps with this set up. The screen tearing is noticeable, but I can live with it.

3770k
69502GB unlocked
16 gB Ram
128GBSSD
8.1

Everything maxed at 1080p aside from Shadows.

Get mostly 50-60 but seemed to chug on the map with water for some reason.(water looks like shit)

Will post more accurate numbers after I play with FRAPs tonight a bit.

Edit:
Yeah, Vsync definitely kills the FPS a bit. Tried turning it off and forcing it via CCC but it is still screen tear city.

Still hover around 60 with frequent dips into the 50's, occasional into 40's, haven't seen it lower than that. Haven't played lagoon again with FRAPs yet. Hopefully I will get it soon.

When all is said and done, disappointing performance considering the game still looks like shit.

I have lower settings than you with my 6950 and I get dips into the upper 20s during really intense fire fights.
I have an i5 2500k.

Ok, I'm dialing in the settings for my rig:

i5 3470
8GB ram
2GB 550 ti
1680x1050 native screen

This is what I have so far:

In the Nvidia control panel set the power management to prefer performance and enable vsync.

Use these settings for Titanfall

550%20ti%20settings.png

Shadow and model details are a killer for this card but impact marks and rag doll physics are CPU dependent. I get a pretty consistent 60fps on most of the maps I've played with a few exceptions but I haven't played LAGoon with these settings yet.

I'm going to experiment with setting texture size to very high as well as going with 4xMSAA when I have a chance.

i7 4770k at stock speed
gtx 770
8 gigs ram

I have it running at everything max, 1080p, 60 fps, 4xAA. I get some really odd tearing sometimes (im using adaptive vsync). It seems like it happens mostly in areas where it's really not that busy. Not sure if adding triple buffering in the control panel on top of adaptive vysnc would alleviate the issue or if they can even work in tandem.

AMD 9370 4.3 Ghz
AMD R290
16 GB RAM
Windows 8.1

All graphics settings maxed out / turned on.

1080p
60 fps with zero dips.

Anyone have any idea why at random times the game will just start dropping two frames?

So like, I'm playing and then all of a sudden it drops to 58 for a second then goes back to 60fps for about 7 seconds then back to 58fps for a split second.

I have to reboot the game to stop it.

Does someone also have sound pop ins? When i shoot or hearing sound i hear popping from my speakers never had that in other games.

Also i have v-sync off and have variable v-sync on in nvidia control panel and forced v-sync on in nvidia inspector but do i need to do it different for 120fps? Because last time i did do v-sync on in-game it would go up from 60fps to 120 and that is weird.

1) F yeah on the FRAFS viewer. I'm so happy.

2) Holy shit that performance is terrible. Can anyone with a modern CPU (3570/4670K) and similar GPU power to him run it as well? I'd like to see a comparison.

I only recently learned about FRAFS thanks to vazel's post earlier in the thread. It's pretty sweet! Frametime is a lot more important than FPS in my opinion, so this tool is great.

I'll try disabling my second 680 and doing some more benchmarks tonight.

I have tried disabling SLI on and off and haven't noticed much of a difference, with 1 or 2 cards I still get some choppy frame rates and stuttering. Surprised NVIDIA/Respawn hasn't been able to patch this on release day?

also getting this shit :o

Going to try to roll back to the 331.58 driver and see if it helps. The Beta was fine but for some reason the latest drivers fucked everything up.

That's unfortunate. I had veryinconsistent performance in the beta, when I was only running one 680. I would assume something is wrong with my PC, but it runs other games damn near flawlessly.

So we're pretty sure Demeter and Lagoon have the worst performance, right?

Demeter is a joke. I just automatically use my Smart Pistol every round on that map, because it's a complete slideshow.

For me, Lagoon only runs slightly worse than any other map, but Demeter is off the charts.

With their id engine knowledge I would've loved to have seen them make this game on the Rage engine. It'll be impossible now, sure, but that would've been real interesting.

Using adaptive V-sync in the control panel and dropping it from in game helped out a lot for me personally. Still get slight tearing in odd situations, but the framerate drop is noticeably less.

I still have no clue why this game runs the way it does. It needed even more time in the oven, and perhaps some other people to optimize it. Between the game's performance and bare-bones content, I wouldn't have bought it if I didn't have cred and a discount on it. No way I think this thing deserves the $60 price tag. They should throw in the first map pack for free with those who bought it early.

Also, I only once ever got a ping of 31ms. I usually hover around 50-60ms.

Sloved my stuttering and screen tearing annoyance. Didn't want to to use in game vsync and i'm using a 7970 so now nividia adaptive sync but RadeonPro works and lets me use Dynamic vsync all good maxed 60fps.
