Titanfall PC Performance Thread

i5-2500K
8gb ram
560ti
1080p

I'm running everything on low and still getting poor performance. Usually in the 30s-40s and it stutters. Sometimes it dips into the high 20s. I know I don't have the best rig, but on low I should be getting better performance than this.

Something is messed up on your system.

I have an i5 760, 12GB ram, 560ti, running at 1200p, and get an average of 50-60 FPS with drops to 30 fps at the lowest, and my settings are at Medium textures, Low shadows, high everything else.

Interesting to see so many people having performance issues with this game (though I suppose this is the performance thread). Is it just me or does it often seem like SLI creates more performance issues than it solves?

I'm running a mostly constant, stutter free 60fps @1680x1050 with Vsync on on this setup:

i5 2500k @ Stock
8gb ram
670 2gb

Couldn't be happier with the performance and, honestly, in some ways I do feel like this game has some next gen graphical feel to it. Things like the elaborate, dynamic backgrounds and the vibrancy and variety of textures add up to make a really nice looking game in my opinion.

Laptop
i7 2.3Ghz
Gtx 675m
8GB Ram DDR3

Running custom settings

Very high textures medium everything else with minor AA

Barely noticed any frame issues except screen tearing my god the screen tearing even at 60fps with vsync.

I think you'd be correct in saying that. i7 4770k, gtx 660 sli, and 8gb ram, yet during the beta I was regularly seeing drops to 30-40 fps with stutter aplenty. this was during the beta though

Disable MSAA ingame. Screen resolution will stress your gpu, and Shadows quality will stress your cpu. Disabling shadows will make a few of them baked but can double your performance in weak cpus.

What the hell are they doing with their shadows that makes them so intensive? This game does not even have a screen spaced AO solution... everything is just baked.

I mean... Crysis 3s shadows run better than these.... while being more physically correct!

Or better yet... Crysis 3 on High (not very high)... runs better than titan fall...

I haven't played much of the retail release yet, but I have been super disappointed in the performance. My computer should have no trouble at all running a Source Engine game at 60+ FPS all the time.

Is it worth disabling SLI for now? Is there anything else I should try?

Damn, something is messed up. I have one gtx680 and a 3770k and am getting way smoothe performance than you even with the textures set to very high.

I'm getting 'failed to get token from Origin' when I hit the play button from the main menu. I was playing the game fine last night but now I can't connect at all. Any ideas?

This is what I'm running. I might consider upgrading my GPU later this year, but for now, the game runs great.

Intel i7-4770K Haswell
Cosair water cooler
MSI Z87I LGA Intel Z87 Mobo
Samsung MZ-7PD256BW SSD
G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 2133 (PC3 17000)
XFX Double D HD-679X-ZDFC Radeon HD 6790 1GB 256-Bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.1 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFireX Support Video Card

And here are my game settings.

Everything maxed on a i5 4670k@4ghz, GTX Titan and 16gb ddr3, I get 120 fps with occasional dips in the 100's.

Feels good.

I wish the FOV was higher, though.

I forced v-sync on in Nvidia Inspector and left it disabled in game, and didn't change anything else at all. This seemed to fix all of the issues I was having. Here is an Attrition match in Boneyard:

The game felt super smooth. I still sucked terribly, but I think that's mostly because I'm still not used to the maps.

So after adding this to the game properties (-novid -high +cl_showfps 1), I have a smaller window to game on, but runs at a steady 60fps.

Looks like I'll have to invest in a newer GPU to game in full screen.

Your specs seem completely top of the line except for the GPU?

I was having similar issues and here's what helped me immensely:

Go to Nvidia Control Panel > Manage 3D Settings > Program Settings tab (second tab on the right) > Select/Add TitanFall, scroll down to Power management Mode and set it to Prefer maximum performance

That right there was a night and day difference for me. Not sure if it will work for you but it's worth a try. The next thing that finished off my tweak and was a tremendous help in locking down 60 FPS for me was unparking my cores using the application in this Tweak Guide:

http://www.pcgamer.com/2014/03/15/t...best-settings-to-maximize-your-effectiveness/

It's extremely simple to use and made a world of difference. Anyone who hasn't tried it and are running multiple cores should look into that. Titanfall/Source games are extremely CPU dependent, so unparking the cores Windows for some reason keeps parked is really good for games like Titanfall.

Yeah, I had the GPU on another build. When I made my current build, I just reused the GPU. At the time when I purchased the GPU, I bought it for Star Wars and BF3, which ran great. Well thats been a couple of years now, so looks like I'll need something newer for Titanfall.

For now, this GPU with the new settings will hold me over for now.

Lots of weird issues with sound dropping out that I never had in the Beta. If I don't quit out after that starts the performance degrades to all hell.

Getting great performance -

i5-3570K Ivy Bridge 3.4GHz (3.8GHz Turbo)
16GB RAM DDR3
GTX 670 with 2GB DDR5

I am running the game 1080p with everything set to max except textures which are Very High and 4X MSAA.

Getting an absolutely rock solid 60FPS. Had minor drops with insane textures and AA set higher but after tweaking to what I have listed above I have not had a single drop that I noticed in over 3 hours of play.

In the Nvidia control panel I have Power management Mode set to Prefer maximum performance at all times and I have Titanfall itself set to force FXAA which combined with the 4X MSAA really seems to give me great AA.

I would recommend those using SLI disable it until the update to support is out. Right now a decent card should not need and apparently runs much worse even with the hack.

I have the same CPU and a 570 and I can't get performance like that, even with everything set to low. Stuttering abounds, plus plenty of 10-15 frame drops .

Someone in the OT suggested this a couple of days ago. Mine was set to adaptative or something like that. After changing it the performences seemed a lot better. Worth a try.

Uh, is this in French? What setting is it in English?

e: power management mode?

Sound dropping was most definitely in the beta. It was one of the things I was hoping would be fixed for launch.

What should my settings be in ParkControl? Disabled 100 when using High Performance on AC?

i7 930 @3.7GHz
4GB PNY GTX 770
12 GB RAM moderate clock, not sure, but definitely not high end

1920x1200, Everything on high, insane textures, no VSync, subjectively runs pretty well but does drop in places. Runs a ton better than my Xbox One. Will probably measure my frames at some point and see if I can get that 60fps a little more consistent without sacrificing too much graphics. Though I'm sure if I toned down the effects some it wouldn't hurt my ability to see enemy pilots...........

I think you want to Disable it and set it to 100, right?

I opened my Power Settings and tested this tool on some profiles. Green bars are unlocked; gray are locked. I freed up half my bars in High Performance and on my Razer Game Booster profiles.

Confirmed the unlocked cores in the Resource Monitor found in the task Manager.

Trying to squeeze everything I can out of this laptop that's not supposed to be able to play the game! :D

2600k @ 4.6ghz
16GB RAM
2x 780tis
2560x1600 resolution

So SLI appears to not work at the moment. 99% usage on GPU 1, 25% on GPU 2. Disabled SLI and all is well. Maxed out, 60fps.

Hey dude, I just wanted to tell you I was still having issues even after the Nivida Control panel adjustments to the game, Anyway I found a temp fix until they fix it with a update.

I have everything set to high in video options.

At the beginning of each map... go into video options in game. set shadows to medium. hit apply. Then set your shadows to high. hit apply. Play the game... no screen tearing boost in frames.
This definitely a shadow bug connected to cpu usage.

Does the FoV affect framerate much, as you'd be drawing more of the world? And is it recommended to have it set to 90? I haven't changed mine at all.

Get a solid 60 on everything except lagoon (the one with lots of water and huts?) where it gets a little chuggy sometimes, but I'm not lowering anything just for that one map

I5 3570k @4GHz, 7950

I have: AMD FX 8320 (4.0GHz turbo mode), MSI R9 270x and 8gb Ram. I unparked my CPU and it helped but with these settings I'm still getting some drops mainly when I get inside a Titan and there's chaos (drops to ~40 fps until the battlefield clears out).
Settings: 1080p, 2x MSAA, Textures high and everything else high. Any other tricks I need to enable or disable like cpu unparking to get a steady frame rate? This is the worst performing game on my new pc right now, everythings been running great until this.

Maybe a little difference, you are rendering 30% more of the game world. But its worth it, seeing more helps more then anything

Thats because the shadows will be at medium, they do not increase until the next load time.

That tip for power management helped a bit.

What's weird now is that I have a 120hz monitor with light boost. There is a green led on the screen that tells you its in 3d mode, aka 2d mode with strobing enabled.

When I start titanfall the green light turns off and I can tell its no longer doing the strobing or lightboost.

Anyone else with light boost notice this? Does the game not support 120hz at all?

I disabled vsync and the game was running at 60fps/120hz with LightBoost. I even noticed some input lag when I dropped down to 60hz, which is weird.

Runs at a stable 60fps for me with everything maxed out with textures on very high and AA on 2x.

GTX680SOC 2gig Vram with latest drivers
i5 3570k OC to 4.0Ghz
16gig ram

However, I get pretty frequent drops to 50fps every now and then when I play with textures on insane. Why in the hell does insane require 3gigs of Vram when it barely looks passable, let alone insane. The very high textures look disgusting in parts, with plenty of textures looking PS2 quality up close and that isn't even an exaggeration. Boggles my mind that this source engine game both runs worse and looks worse than Battlefield does on my computer.

I find that the performance is really inconsistent. One day, the game runs fine and then the next day I play, it stutters and locks up for a few seconds.

Intel i5 2500k @ 3.3

Wow apparently shadows take alot of cpu/gpu I don't know I'm a newbie to this, as I previously posted, got fps drops when there was chaos. Everything High 2xmsaa 1080p, well I dropped the shadows to medium and upped the msaa to 4x and it runs better, solid 60fps, wtf?
