Haven't they sold this game for mere pennies in the past? Regardless, I'm excited to see what they learned from the first game and hope they deliver something with more lasting appeal.

EA Access is inflating these numbers or what?

I was under the impression the game didn't do so hot.

That's why you don't go by the Internet. You'll see the same thing when Battlefront sells a massive amount of numbers, despite the Internet going crazy because it doesn't have the exact same features as a game from a decade ago.

the price I paid for the PC copy was a goddamn steal. It was so cheap and scaled so well that it was incredibly easy for me to convince a bunch of friends to buy it.

Not enough content for $60, but it was well worth what I paid.

I can believe the number, but there's definitely some clarification needed to make an accurate judgment.

How many were sale copies? Are they counting anyone who played it via the EA Vault? I'd personally like to see a platform breakdown, I imagine XB1 might be slightly higher than PC, but not sure.

That's $600,000,000.00 in a perfect world if each game were at $60. That doesn't even include tax. That's quite a few copies of Titanfall.

That's not how this works. That's not how ANY of this works.

That's sweet, hopefully Titanfall 2 will improve on everything because it's got a great base to build off of.

The title is a bit of a stretch, he is likely referring to 10 million unique players considering the wording of the tweet.

My bother bought the Xbox One bundle with Titanfall last year, does that count?

Looking forward to Titanfall 2 on PS4... 2017 right ?

I honestly can't tell what's a joke post or just GAF anymore.

I go to the store and see game for $59.99

I go the internet and see game sell 10 million units.

I round up by a cent and take 10 million times 60 and I get 600 million.

In all honesty I don't know or care how much they made, but that's quite a bit of sales.

I'm happy for them. I wouldn't mind seeing a sequel.

I mean...that's not very hard to believe when they've practically given the game away multiple times. I mean, the game has been $5 on both PC and Xbox One many times from what I remember, and they made the season pass free.

it doesn't matter. There are plenty of games that could of sold at 5 dollars and would of never sniffed 10 million sold.

10 Million what?

You have 140 characters!

Good on them though, looking forward to see what they do with the sequel.

That's actually dumbfounding me, I didn't think it had passed 5 million let alone 10, granted they have offered the game for extremely cheap but still thats a really impressive number.

I just don't understand how it sold that well when so few people played it even a few months after it came out.. I'd really like to see a brackdown on when and at what prices they hit 3/5/7 million. Won't happen but it would be very interesting to see if it was just because of several really cheap flash sales or if it just had some staying power.

Edit:

Okay that sounds much more resonable, Destiny claims its got a crazy high number of players to but they count the people who just tried the demo with that.

Still the most intense shooter this generation.

Greatly looking forward to the sequel. Hopefully they can retain what made it feel amazing without changing its identity.

10 million of what?

Unique players? Copies shipped?

Is EA Vault included in that number?

Also, this game has been dirt cheap multiple times over the past year, so this number doesn't feel particularly impressive.

You have to change your mindset to a macro perspective.

Nice to see, I rocked this game hard at launch but short amount of content made it wear out faster than it should have, went back a while ago after it hit Ea Access and killed many new players :) great game, outstanding level design.

alternatively, "We sold 10 million without a single player campaign, the future is clear!"

Fine with me though, wish I was more compelled to leave it installed.

I remember somewhere that they did a survey of people who didn't buy the game, and the #1 reason was that it wasn't on PS4 and the #2 reason was that it had no single-player campaign. I would honestly be shocked if the next game didn't have one, if only for the same reason why CoD keeps bothering with it- it's an effective markeing tool. The incremental upgrades in MP between installments don't really do much to promote interest in the next game, but a different single-player campaign does.

At this point the only way an MP-only game is going to survive is if it's free-to-play.

10 Million Titans falled.

They nailed the wallrunning movement, I think redesigning the mechs would be a good idea for the sequel.

Also, I would like the game to move even farther away from Call of Duty. It was cool the first time, to have something so familiar, but I would rather the game have more of its own identity in its gunplay. This is a game that is just screaming for accurate hipfire on almost all weapon, not that forced ADS nonsense.

I honestly can't see that being 10million sales.... It just seems like far far to much for a game that was Xbox and Origin exclusive..... 10 million unique users though thanks to EA Access and Free weekends seems much more like it...

I noticed a lot of people hate on this game here, so I guess this won't be any different.

But at least it shows that a MP only game can sell well.

Also, final thought is that the tweet doesn't actually say sales and respawn has said in the past (on this very forum) that EA doesn't release sales figures. This could be another celebration of how many people have played TF and not how many people bought TF.

Now that makes a little more sense. 10 million copies sold sounded crazy high given what we know of the game's current online presence, even factoring in heavily discounted copies. Mods might want to change the title.

Holy shit? Way bigger than I expected.

Are those actually 10 million copies sold or just 10 million players that have logged on and played at least one match

What are we talking here, unit sales or unique users?

My guess is unique users based on where we were at in the beginning of the year.

Since a bunch of people posted it, the population really only fell off on pc. The population on Xbox (no doubt partly due to how often it's been on insane sales) has always been extremely healthy. Doesn't hurt that it's the best FPS of the generation so far, still (sadly).

Great numbers!

Congrats to respawn... This game gets an unhealthy amount of hate here for some reason but it was one of the bright spots of early generation and still one of my favorite games.

I think it's 10 million unique players.

Last December it had 8 million unique players, let's say it sold 6 million copies at the time, it means it sold 4 million copies between last December and now, that would be some serious, serious legs which we didn't see in any chart (US or Europe).

Best FPS of the generation for me. When you and the group that you play with all combine for over 2500 hours of playtime I can see why this milestone happened. Can't wait for TF2.
