I was tongue-in-cheek toolol yeah I've always had the image of a screaming kid playing Halo in my mind. Maybe they are older.
It was tongue-in-cheek. Not gonna comment on the other part.
Is a $60 Titanfall for a $500 console more of a silver bullet than Planetside 2 with hundreds vs hundreds of players for free on a $400 console?
The OP only says "impact of..." I honestly don't see it selling 5 million on a single platform, but I won't count it out. Game just swept the E3 awards, will likely get A TON of marketing push from both EA and MS, and will likely get the crazy metacritic scores. Minecraft has sold 7 million on 360, in north america and europe, it's likely that fucking Minecraft sold just as many systems as Gears of War 2 and 3. Who fucking knows? From the video it looks like something that shooter fans might enjoy.
"mediocre shooter with double jump"
"xbone fans desperate"
I don't even know what your third sentence means. Something doesn't even need to be exclusive to be a system seller. COD was a system seller and had a bigger impact than Halo and Gears this gen for both 360 and PS3.
"junior" was obviously adding to the discussion by putting your post on blast.
"mediocre shooter with double jump" That's called an opinion. Sorry if I offended you--you must be upset quite a bit during this thread since others felt the same way.
"Xbone fans are desperate" Did I say that? I said they desperately want Titanfall to be a system seller since Xbone needs everything it can get at this moment.
And no one said only exclusives could move systems--did anyone? I told you why I didn't think it would be a system seller so I'm not going to bother re-typing it.
And I'm sorry you don't understand what my 3rd sentence meant. Not my fault for getting a little testy with a Junior for basically saying my post sucks without rebutting it in anyway.
Yes, there are people who say that the game looks like nothing special. The way you are wording your posts sounds super condescending and aggressive.
You just said "I didn't say fans are desperate, I said they are acting desperately"...okay.
Plenty of people IN THIS THREAD are saying it is on PC, and thus should not be considered a system seller, which is ridiculous. The only thing asked is whether it will have the same impact as a Halo or Gears which to me is just whether it sells a good amount of copies and defines the shooter genre on xbox one.
You are obviously 12 years old.
'I feel like the lack of single player aspect is being played up a lot in here. Maybe 2-3 years ago, that would have mattered, but now? And especially for the type of game it is?
I'd be pretty astounded if more than a handful of gamers came, let alone stayed for the campaigns in CoD games.
I think halo will be back to some of its former glory on xbox one.It might. Certainly feels like MS is going to push for that. Halo seems to be sliding off the grid, and Gears is on hold, kinda. MS need a new big gun. Makes sense to bank on this.
Though I wonder if a multiplayer-only game could pull that off.

After some of the recent changes to halo 4 multiplayer I have hope that 343 might have learned some things. As a fan of Halo 1 and 2, I hope so.

It probably will be bigger than Gears if they go Multiplattform, don't know if it's gonna be bigger than halo though.
It honestly wouldn't take much to be bigger than Halo these days.
Do you think it can have the same impact that Halo did for the original Xbox and Gears did for Xbox 360?
Gears was a meh game that was massively over marketed. Nothing more.
Gears and Halo both have personality, lore, characters, story, etc. They are not just formula MP shooters (Gears isn't even a tier 1 MP shooter at that). I see Titanfall as the next MAG or Warhawk. A secondary shooter, living in the shadow of the big boys.

No, and I think it's pretty lame that people keep trying to make this game 'happen' like it's the next big thing. It might be a good game, but that's it.

The minute I see someone call another poster "Junior" because of their status, I completely disregard everything that person has so say. The sad this is, I mostly agreed with you up until that point.
But if you are honestly of the mindset that a person's opinion is less valid, or they deserve to be derided, simply because they joined a club more recently than you, you've automatically lost the debate. Because a person who would reach for such a desperate comment is one who has no other valid point to make.

This is the ultimate truth. How can it be a true system seller if all those 360 gamers can simply buy it for the 360 system they already own?
I don't see how any cross gen game can be a "system seller".
Exactly! This is like the gaming industry is pushing on us to love the game even though none of us have actually played it.
That's what I'm saying, doubt they expect the game to sell less than 10 million once it hits all platforms - Halo and Gears ( if it's still exclusive) will be limited by the Xbox One user base while Titan will at launch already hit 360,One and PC with a PS4 version following later on once the exclusivity time period is over.It honestly wouldn't take much to be bigger than Halo these days.
Have you seen the new 'perks' they're adding this month for their newest DLC? They have a vision, and it's nothing like Halo CE or Halo 2.After some of the recent changes to halo 4 multiplayer I have hope that 343 might have learned some things.
Yeah because that neeeeeeever happens with any other games right?
I mean hell, the Last of Us received the exact same treatment, and the game is great. I see no reason why Titanfall won't be any good.
