TITANFALL the next Halo/Gears?

I don't even know what your third sentence means. Something doesn't even need to be exclusive to be a system seller. COD was a system seller and had a bigger impact than Halo and Gears this gen for both 360 and PS3.

"Xbone fans are desperate" Did I say that? I said they desperately want Titanfall to be a system seller since Xbone needs everything it can get at this moment.

And no one said only exclusives could move systems--did anyone? I told you why I didn't think it would be a system seller so I'm not going to bother re-typing it.

And I'm sorry you don't understand what my 3rd sentence meant. Not my fault for getting a little testy with a Junior for basically saying my post sucks without rebutting it in anyway.

Yes, there are people who say that the game looks like nothing special. The way you are wording your posts sounds super condescending and aggressive.

The only thing asked is whether it will have the same impact as a Halo or Gears which to me is just whether it sells a good amount of copies and defines the shooter genre on xbox one.

I tend to disagree. There just isn't a strong MP only retail game sector out there anymore. Most of that has moved to the F2P market. There are still the exceptions, but they are increasingly rare, a very few of those have much impact.

I think halo will be back to some of its former glory on xbox one.
 
The lack of a sp game was a great decision. I always wonder how well games like bf and cod could be if they weren't diverted by shitty sp modes with fish AI.
 
As far as I'm concerned it's next gens Gears.

And that isn't a good thing.

Gears was a meh game that was massively over marketed. Nothing more.

Titanfall is going to end up being the same (Have you SEEN TitanFall?). It's nothing special that easily could have been done on current gen consoles (No, I'm not talking about graphics) but instead it's being marketed as the next coming and the game every X1 owner has to buy. Later in the generation (if it even survives that long) it will just have a small cult like following same as GoW.

Off topic but they learned absolutely nothing from Reach. I have no hope in them learning anything from Halo 4.
 
It probably will be bigger than Gears if they go Multiplattform, don't know if it's gonna be bigger than halo though.
 
It looks like next gen cod with mechs so I imagine it will be quite popular, not sure what their expectations are. Displacing cod/halo/gears? Nah

It's the game that might be making me buy XO before PS4 and one of my friends is the same way so yeah, maybe? Definitely not Halo big but perhaps Gears big.
 
You want to know what the real Halo/Gears killer is? Halo/Gears itself. Stop chasing those COD and casual market dollars and don't fix what aint broke.

In regards to Titanfall i foresee it being massive, it would be even bigger if it was on PS4/PS3 aswell.
 
No, and I think it's pretty lame that people keep trying to make this game 'happen' like it's the next big thing. It might be a good game, but that's it.

The minute I see someone call another poster "Junior" because of their status, I completely disregard everything that person has so say. The sad this is, I mostly agreed with you up until that point.

But if you are honestly of the mindset that a person's opinion is less valid, or they deserve to be derided, simply because they joined a club more recently than you, you've automatically lost the debate. Because a person who would reach for such a desperate comment is one who has no other valid point to make.
 
I don't think so. Same with Destiny, I have a feeling that EA and Activision are going to be disappointed with the results in the end. You can't really just brute force popularity (I guess you can to a certain degree). I'm sure they'll do pretty good in the scheme of things but not big BILLION DOLLAR FRANCHISE111!!!11 levels that they are hoping for. Just my prediction anyway.

I didn't call him a junior because it made his opinion invalid. Not sure how you'd ever reach that conclusion.

I called him a junior because he made a post basically amounting to "your post sucks" and pointing out that making posts like that, while being a junior, will insure you won't last very long here and receive the banhammer of death.

Trust me, I'm of the mind as well that your join date means nothing when it comes to the validity of your opinion or argument.
 
I think mp only is going to hurt it ... The fact that its respawn is giving me more hope but full price mp only game .... Eh .... Also as ppl have pointed out its probably a times exclusive anyway .

Even cs go launched at what 20 30 ... And dota is f2p.

I honestly think Destiny and Titanfall have a good shot at beating Halo and Gears, at least as franchises. I feel like the marketing push behind these games is going to be huge and they're going to resonate well with a lot of CoD people.

I mean hell, the Last of Us received the exact same treatment, and the game is great. I see no reason why Titanfall won't be any good.

That's what I'm saying, doubt they expect the game to sell less than 10 million once it hits all platforms - Halo and Gears ( if it's still exclusive) will be limited by the Xbox One user base while Titan will at launch already hit 360,One and PC with a PS4 version following later on once the exclusivity time period is over.
 
Depends

Halo and Gears were graphical showcases and were clearly revolutionary landmarks in their genres. Titanfall isn't going to be those things but it will probably do really well sales wise judging from the buzz it has gotten.

I feel mp games are more subjective somehow .... Like say tr review for dota2 on ign is what 9.4 or something and cs go is 8.something. And I will pick cs anyway and this is coming from a hardcore dota player .... I think mp games have many levels also depending on your competiveness that makes them harder to judge .... Basically only reason I'm skeptical about this .

EDIT I've tried out multiplayer in games but if there is no sp to handhold you and make you comfortable with it I feel the mp needs a friend guiding you ... Got in cs cause my best friend wanted to try Clanning never looked back ... In dota often my friends hate it till I spend a couple of weeks guiding and teaching them then they're all for it .... And it's not a mechanics thing ... My
Friend was meh on cs till I told him to try competitive mode told him about how to hold sites as a team rotate quick etc.
 
Maybe, but I doubt it. Looks like a good game, but its impossible to really tell without playing it a bunch. These guys know their stuff, as the CoD games were fantasmic back in the day. Never played any of the games after Modern Warfare though.
