I don't know. I haven't played it.
I absolutely disagree.
One thing I will say though. If Titanfall was on some sick new graphically advanced engine that had stunning mech graphics, amazing lighting, attention to detail etc (think Matrix Revolutions mixed with District 9, with grit, smoke, steam, effects etc). Where every scratch, rust mark and cable was carefully realised and rendered. With cities with detail closer to what we saw in the KZ SF reveal, with gameplay that veered further from CODs twitch, instead with a greater sense of uniqueness, personality, and weight, I think the response would have been far greater from actual gamers. Oh and if it had an awesome campaign too. So so much potential wasted.
Some of the people bashing Titanfall in this thread are obviously pro Sony. Hard to think that it isn't skewing their opinion. They'll hype Killzone: SF, and suddenly this doesn't deserve the hype it's getting? Yeah right. A game does not win this many E3 awards and receive the hype it's getting, if it didn't deserve it. We're looking at what could possibly be the first genre defining FPS since COD 4. It's adding so many concepts that are just not present in any Modern FPS series. Calling it COD with mechs is disingenuous. And I don't get the criticism of it being multiplayer only. Several people simply buy COD or BF for their multiplayer components. Infact I applaud Respawn for not bloating their game with a tacked on single player, the reverse of what Bioshock :Infinite did. The games reviews will speak for themselves, and going of what I've seen, I'm expecting TLoU/Gears type critical acclaim.
And so what? Your not proving me wrong. A selective bunch of people is not the majority. It was demoed, great but what's a good game if people won't feel it afterwards? I'm sorry but to me, it's disadvantage is being a mecha shooter which will cause a problem. I know it's going to sell, that's a no brainer but I think it's way overhyped for what it is. Some people are saying it's going to be bigger than CoD and even Halo which is DEFINITELY wrong. [/quote}
First of all it's not a "mecha shoother." It's a shooter first and the mechs come into the game every 2 minutes (or less depending on how well you perform). Did you see it live or play it? Or are you merely going from some low frames per second Youtube videos? You think it's way overhyped, the majority of the people that actually experienced it don't...at all.
Don't play the martyr saying "I'm sorry I don't agree." You are making claims based on what you're into and not being objective at all. Like another poster said, name a game that went on to win the game the majority of the Game of Show awards from E3 that didn't become a huge hit.Secondly, check my Raptr, PSN whateevr you want to do, I play army shooters. I hate CoD but I've played every single on of them, I'm done with the franchise and moved on to battlefield which I am currently in love with. Don't insult me. We are talking about COD which is an arcade based shooter that definitely doesn't take itself too seriously. It's the reason why it rings to people more than more realistic army shooters that do. It has nothing to do with it being hyped. It's fun to play. I don't agree with TF being as hype because it's being toted around as a mecha shooter that suppose to have the appealing of CoD while lacking the fact that it's not a military shooter. The realism of the game is its most unattractive feature and I'm sorry if I don't feel the same way as the rest of you.

You see the pattern here? All of these games have been successful.
Coupled with the fact that Titanfall is made by the core group responsible for the the most successful franchise this generation, it's a pretty safe bet that Titanfall is going to be hugely successful.
It's my opinion and I just don't see it. I'm not saying it won't be successful but I'm saying I'm not seeing this taking the throne as the next big thing. I don't see it beating out army shooters. There's something about army shooters that people like and it's definitely the realism. I don't care if I'm wrong in the long run but I just don't see it.
Btw, yes I am buying it for PC as well to play it.. I'm a gamer at the end of the day.
No one likes Call of Duty for it's realism. Believe me.
I think a lot of the hate for this game stems from it not being on PS3/4. These guys made CoD before it sucked. I have complete faith in them.

This . With the only caveat being the only mp concernsIts got the potential to be huge, similar to Gears, but Halo's impact was simply revolutionary for console gaming. TitanFall will not match that.
I cant wait.
The hype is there for a reason. The extent of the actual hype is being exaggerated greatly by bitter and cynical people, though.I'm primarily a ps gamer but I don't hate on halo or gears .... A good game is a good game .... It's just that people are getting tired of the super hype .... It's no doubt a great playing game or it would not have for the attention and awards it did ... But proclaiming its the second coming of half life already is premature
Yea, thats a bit of an unknown. Should be an interesting experiment. This . With the only caveat being the only mp concerns

I'm so done with this argument. I never said it will never be successful so stop trying to force feed me the redundant logic. I'm saying in my opinion which seems to be getting dismissed, it won't be as big and beat CoD or BF. You naming games that are successful as if I'm disagreeing with you. My entire notion is, the hype for this game is not as high as you all are making it out to be. Being successful =/= Beating a well known franchises that's been out for years. The OP specifically said Halo and Gears in which I said it won't. It won't be as big as them neither will it be the next big thing
Secondly, I'm not playing not martyr card but putting out cold hard facts. The numbers DO NOT lie. If TF has enthusiasm, then other games that came out before it would show that there is obviously a general fan base for this type of genre based shooter, yet there isn't.
Thirdly, people do play CoD for its realism. It's an army shooter that has a realistic feel with an arcade twist. Not a sci-fi shooter with floaty jumps, regenerating armor and spacey guns. My opinion is only based on what is realistically showing on the charts. Obviously CoD sells a lot, BF is constantly highly anticipated especially for its big maps and vehicle choice and people like that feel. So what can TF realistically bring to the table that can persuade people it's better than feeling like a solider and being able to brag about it. I don't know where your from, but where I'm at... The military shooters win all. If it's not military it's halo and that's it.
Inflammatory..like I'm making fun of someone's mother or something.
*Sigh* It's the same thread-shitting attitude in every TF thread. Christ.
Saying Titanfall is COD with mechs is like saying The Last Of Us is Uncharted with zombies.
Without a real campaign mode i don't see any chance, that titanfall can be as big as Halo or GoW
For people saying it's heavily rumored or hinted to come to ps4.. What is the source? except for a few gaffers saying ms only payed for a timed exclusive I don't see any hinting from the developer's
Really? Lol, okay.It is though.
It is though.
It will be recognised as the 360's swan song, probably used by Xbox fans as a counter to Sony's investment in late PS3 titles
.More like the next Haze.
Well, and I believe that you are "hoping" thatI get the feeling that all the "no"'s are "I hope not".

I don't disagree with the fact that this would make it more popular, but it's still stupid. I think TitanFall looks more awesome than all of the 'pure' next-gen titles unveiled so far.One thing I will say though. I disagree with this, though. I don't know why MP-only is such a stigma for this or any game. It's considered perfectly acceptable, even commendable, for a game to be SP-only but not for a game to be MP-only? Videogaming is the only game medium I know of where the social aspect of games is actively denigrated by the people who play. Seems kind of dumb.Oh and if it had an awesome campaign too. So so much potential wasted.
