Not quite on topic, but not totally off-topic either. Yesterday I noticed that instead of the 250~ online members we usually have, we were above 500. Specially earlier in the day, when sometimes we'd go under 150, we're now around 220.

So are the number of Lurkers higher now than before the exodus? Is footfall to the site still down compared to the old days or do these guests make a significant contribution to hits?

Welcome to all the lurkers, I hope you feel encouraged to join. There's no better time then now to join the best gaming forum on the web. I like to talk about videogames & tech and I avoid politics, and this forum allows me to do exactly that. With E3 just behind us there's lots of great stuff to talk about. There's plenty of space for everyone so feel free to come aboard as a member!

Then reporting back "OMG look at what those GAF Nazis are saying!" As if having your opinion censored is normal.

I heard from one of them that they visit neogaf and keep a eye out on users who are posting here and if you post there to and go overboard they ban you. they are like some of the biggest losers i have ever seen in my whole life.

I think the reason i was so hesistant on joing for for a bit after the migration was...well, i didnt realize Gaf had become more inclusive until early last year.
For years i would click on sign up just to be greeted with that “you need a paid/work/special email” reality check.

Then last january i decided to take another shot (i noticed there was a new tier of gaffers [neo members]) and decided to give it a shot. And lo and behold after 7 years of lurking: BAM! I’m a member.

TL;DR: you dont need a paid email anymore, theres no reason not to join!

Yes, they really do that. I'm reasonably well known (In my community topic) but I'd be perma banned if they matched me here with that account. Sometime next week my ban will be over and I'll start some shit to get a perma ban becuse I'm on my third ban now. Dead man walking account suicide and I'll grab an alt and just stick to my community topic and the discord.

your mind
I don’t like begging OP, it’s unbecoming.

Like @The Bloody-Nine said, I’m happy with the current traffic and I’m wary of NewGAF becoming as busy and reductive as OldGAF.

But, still. If you have to join, it’s ok.

Shout out to this poster for letting me know you can use a regular email address now. I'd been wanting to join, but didn't want to use my work email. Thanks for the heads-up!
