Today I learned that White People never, ever, ever eat Salsa.

White guy here, salsa is awesome.

It's getting irritating how more and more stores just carry Mild though, and things marked "Jalapeno" actually seem to mean "slightly peppery taste"

Except store bought salsas are becoming bland and less spicy by the day, damn you white people!

As a person of Asian ancestry, is it normal that everything that's marketed as spicy in any mainstream restaurant in this country is barely worthy of that descriptor to me?

I'm shocked at this news. Store bought salsas are awful. Who actually likes them?

Does this count?

Godly.

I'm serious when I say that the highest heat from a fresh ghost chili lasts about 30 minutes. It's... bracing.

Ketchup has no defense, it's a gross and outdated relic of less tasty times.

We might as well just open the gates and let the socialist in with an attitude like that. "Come on in Ivan and don't bother wipe the bottoms of you boots. Can I get you some salsa on that borsch?"

Buy this.

I bought some of this thinking it would be good. It is so unbearably salty that I can't eat more than a bite or two. I checked the label and salt is actually #4 on the ingredient list after tomatoes, onions and peppers. That's ridiculous.

I'm as white as the freshly fallen snow, and I love salsa, especially freshly made salsa.

Unless it has cilantro in it, then fuck that shit.

One thing you need to know about America and most of Europe; they don't serve real spicy foods. 99% of the time spicy is really mild and mild is just bland.

Great salsa brand, the mango habanero is great. This one though is inedible alone, it was so hot I couldn't do more than one or two chips lightly dipped. I kept it, but started adding it to things that need to be spiced up like chili or taco meat.

I usually go through a bowl of that with chips when I buy it. I honestly think the habanero salsa Renfro puts out is hotter.

Cost Plus World Market has a nice selection of salsas. I always grab some when I'm there. This guy I used to work with had a great recipe for some cilantro heavy salsa, I wish I had gotten it off him.

Well tbh I run out of salsa way faster than ketchup....if I used as much ketchup on my hotdogs as I did salsa on my chips by weight...Id basically be using a quarter of a bottle

For anyone deriding store bought salsas, please post up your favourite recipes. I've made my own mexican-style salsa before but it wasn't as good as I expected it to be.

i honestly had salsa today on a chicken wrap for lunch. I've seen lots of my friends eat salsa. So thats nonsense really.

Already did on the previous page. Trying to convert the whole board to my recipe.

Depends on the store brand. I like Safeway's bottled Garlic Lover's Salsa. Their Salsa in the Deli is pretty good too. They have too much Tex-Mex & Southwestern stuff though. I don't want corn in my salsa.

I don't see how the author blames anyone for rewriting demographics, why make the article out to be hostile when it's not? It's simply noting the effect that the growing Hispanic population in the U.S. has on our food consumption. I know, big surprise.

If you think this story is dumb, have you watched the network TV news lately? It's barely above game journalism in objectivity.

As far as salsa goes, I am a big fan of the Baja Fresh salsa bar.

Im white and I don't think anyone likes it as spicy as much as me. Seriously, I challenge any Thai, Mexican or Korean to out-spice me. I'm this close to wandering into the jungles of South America (or w/e) in search of the spiciest pepper.
